Loving With My Mind

Chapter 46 - Remove It

After receiving phrases and commitment for membership on her new business, Han Yixin finally got a breather.

Zhao Mingzhe went with her to try on some refreshments as the program showcased guest performers. Afterwhich, they held their drinks and went to watch the program.

As they went for the provided seats, they came across a pair which had Han Yixin taken aback.

"Donna..." she blurted out, seeing her friend in the arms of the ex-husband they all had not seen for over a year.

"Xin-xin!" Donna Yang called out to her excitedly, almost naturally. People would not think anything was off.

However, Han Yixin looked at her as if saying, 'Why are you with him?!'

Donna Yang flashed her sweetest smile before hooking her wrist on Han Yixin's arm, successfully dragging her friend away.

Zhao Mingzhe was a bit irritated by the rude gesture, but he knew from his wife's expression that something was amiss. He let them be and greeted the man before him, who was also just abandoned by his female companion.

"Zhao Mingzhe." he introduced himself and offered a hand to shake.

"Ah...CEO Zhao. I'm Thomas Leung." the mixed-race man shook his hand.

"Soccer...right? So, Miss Yang is..." Zhao Mingzhe sounded him.

Thomas Leung snickered. "My stubborn wife."

Actually, only a handful of people knew that Thomas Leung and Donna Yang are married. At most, the media took them as an item in the assumption that they dated. They did not even have a grand wedding. They just registered. When they were no longer seen together. The media just assumed that they broke up. From then on, the wife had several issues with some heirs from different companies, but nothing serious.

The media got used to it. Even though she seemed happy-go-lucky in private, her acting skills gets better after every project. No one dared to complain.

On the other hand, in another corner of the hall, Han Yixin was interrogating her friend.

"I thought you have a new guy? What are you doing with him?"

"Xin-xin...I think...he didn't file our divorce!" Donna Yang looked like she was trapped in a corner as she held her friend's shoulders by both her hands.

"What?! But aren't you guys..."

"He hinted just now that he didn't. So technically, we're still married! He even threatened to sue me for a.d.u.l.tery if I slept with Su Jiancheng."

"Tell me you did not have se* with that guy!" Han Yixin almost could not contain her pitch. Luckily, the music from the performances drowned it out.

"Han Yixin...I can't believe I'll be hearing those words from you...Guess having a hot husband brings out everything from even the most reserved." Donna Yang snickered.

Han Yixin frowned, then took a deep breath. Not minding the remark, she reinforced her question, "Well?!"

"I..." Donna Yang was hesitant.

Han Yixin's eyes widened, ready to scold her friend.

Before she can, Donna Yang spoke again, "We just made out..."

"Donna Yang! Why do you have to give me such suspense..." Han Yixin heaved a sigh of relief.

"But he...last night, he proposed to me." Donna Yang felt guilty.

"What?!"

"It...it just happened so fast! I was dragged on by the suprise...and the rock on the ring is huge, and there were candles and flowers..."

"You said 'yes'?! How long have you known that guy?!"

"For awhile...heh, I really didn't expect it." Donna Yang had a little smile reminiscing the proposal.

Han Yixin shook some sense into her. "You idiot!" Then she paused after realizing something. "Wait! He proposed to you even though you haven't slept with each other?"

Donna Yang narrowed her eyes on her friend. "Are you really Han Yixin?" She grabbed the shoulders tighter. "Where did you hide Xin-xin?!" she joked.

"Be serious!" Han Yixin was really losing her cool.

Donna Yang's expression turned serious. "Hey, you think I can't get a man who respects me?!" She felt a little insulted, but Han Yixin is the type of friend who can tell her such things directly.

"You really believe that guy doesn't have ulterior motives?" Han Yixin raised an eyebrow.

Donna Yang laughed with sadness in her eyes. "I know."

"Then why did you say 'yes' to his proposal?"

"Xin-xin...before tonight, I thought I was divorced. I just wanted to quit being alone."

Han Yixin was taken aback and remained silent.

"Heh, but I know that he will just use my fame and acc.u.mulated money."

Han Yixin frowned harder, but embraced her friend.

.

Zhao Mingzhe saw the gesture. He made a questioning look on Thomas Leung.

Thomas Leung chuckled. "I think...there was some misunderstanding."

"Just make sure your wife doesn't make too much trouble for mine." Zhao Mingzhe had a benevolent smile.

"CEO Zhao...I'll keep that in mind."

"Thanks."

"Too bad I missed out on your wedding...my wife, she wasn't generous enough to tell me." Thomas Leung tried to be casual.

Zhao Mingzhe chuckled. "Maybe you weren't giving her enough as well."

Thomas Leung gulped from his whiskey.

Both of them returned to the bar when the ladies went to find a spot.

Zhao Mingzhe sipped on his sparkling wine as well. He had been drinking it throughout the night as he needs to drive home after.

.

Han Yixin looked at her friend after the embrace. "Donna Yang, the paparazzi will love your shots. You look awful." she giggled.

"Ha-ha! Let's go to the restroom then." Donna Yang playfully pushed her friend to get a move towards the restroom.

As they were retouching their makeup, Han Yixin asked, "So, where is the ring with a big rock?"

"Oh...there..." Donna Yang pointed towards her handbag while she applied liquid lip color.

Han Yixin opened it. She frowned as she scoured through makeup, pockets of tissue and whatnots.

Finally, she found the ring beside another lipstick. She took it out and raised it against the ceiling light.

"Han Yixin, what are you doing?"

Han Yixin placed the ring on Donna Yang's palm. "Doesn't even look a precious stone." she nonchalantly remarked.

"It's moonstone!" Donna Yang pouted.

"Yeah, yeah...but the rest are zirconia." Han Yixin almost rolled her eyes. "Anyway, don't you like showing off? Why is it inside your bag?"

Donna Yang clicked her tongue. "Thomas Leung, that jerk! He wanted me to remove it."

Han Yixin laughed. "Now, you're listening to him?"

Donna Yang pouted. "Since it doesn't look too expensive, should I flush it down the toilet?" she had a mischievous smile.

"Are you crazy?!"

"What? I'm not gonna keep it anyway."

"Donna Yang, what if Su Jiancheng makes you pay for it?"

Donna Yang laughed heartily. "You got a point. What if he rips me off?"

Han Yixin narrowed her eyes at her. "Just get a proper closure, okay?"

"Okay! Let's go! I can't afford your husband's lost time with his wife." Donna Yang playfully pushes Han Yixin around, supporting her by the shoulders.

.

"Young Master Zhao, I return you your wife, good as new." Donna Yang teased.

Zhao Mìngzhe had a chuckle, then took his wife by the waist. "Why, thank you, Miss Yang...oh, it's Madam Leung, right?"

Donna Yang glared at her husband, who was next to her.

Suddenly, there was a commotion at the entrance of the hall, drawing everyone's attention.

A middle-aged man arrived with a young woman.

"Cynthia..." Zhao Mingzhe blurted in a whisper, enough for his wife to hear.

Han Yixin frowned. She recognized the man. "Uncle?"
