Loving With My Mind

Chapter 50 - What do you want me to do?

Thomas Leung chuckled as he pushed himself away from the soft mattress.

He fixed his bathrobe a bit before opening the door.

The maid blushed to see her master, a bit of his toned c.h.e.s.t showing. However, she frowned as she saw the mistress pulled herself up from the bed.

"What?" Thomas Leung became irritated by how a lowly maid eyed his wife.

"Ah...Master, your snacks." The maid presented her tray.

Thomas Leung frowned at the contents of the plate. "Tell me what the snacks are." he commanded.

"Yes, Master." the maid nodded before taking a breath. "On the left is kung pao pasta in fettuccine, beside it are peanut butter and raspberry jelly finger sandwiches, then the last plate has strawberry and banana crepe with Nutella."

Thomas Leung had a murderous aura.

Upon hearing the snacks, Donna Yang started tapping on her phone for delivery. She was actually hungry, but her husband is about to make a big fuss about the food, and she cannot wait until they have settled things.

Thomas Leung uttered his words like weights, "Call everyone who made this snacks."

The maid hurriedly took out her phone to call out the kitchen staff.

In less than a minute, two other maids are before him as well, who cannot hide their panting. The master summoned them, and it seemed urgent.

Thomas Leung eyed them one by one, but asked the question in general, "How many years have you been in this house?"

"Three, Sir. Since it was ready for occupancy." the maid who delivered the tray answered for all of them.

"You knew my wife then." Thomas Leung gave them the conclusion.

He continued to stare down at them. "I am a very particular person, and I remember that when I brought my wife home, I specifically emphasized her likes and dislikes...including her allergies."

All maids kept mum and lowered their heads.

"I am most certain that I had informed everyone of her nut allergy...and not just peanuts...hazelnut, cashew, all the derivatives. How can you still report to me if you cannot even remember this one thing that could put my wife and her career in jeopardy?!"

"Sir, we..." one of them tried to answer back.

"All of you will eat everything on the tray. For every bite taken to finish off the food, 10,000 will be deducted to each of your salaries. Since my mother will not let me fire every one of you, I will deduct the wasted food on your salary."

"Yes!" Donna Yang blurted out from the bedroom as she finished her order.

The maids had defeated faces as they picked up utensils and made huge bites from the food on the tray lying on the hallway carpeted floor.

"I will count." Thomas Leung declared.

The following morning, Han Yixin went down to work on breakfast. However, someone beat her to the kitchen.

Zhao Mingzhe was chopping onions when his wife entered the kitchen. He paused to look at her.

"Sit at the dining area. I'll be done soon." he said with a smile.

Han Yixin's eyes dimmed and she walked not towards the dining area but to the living room.

Zhao Mingzhe panicked. He held the large knife tightly and briskly walked to her direction.

"Han Yixin!" he called out to stop her.

She stopped walking and slowly turned her head partially to eye him.

"What do you want me to do?!" his voice was pleading. "Xiao Xin, if I chop off my hands, would you stop feeling disgusted by me?!"

Han Yixin's eyes widened as she realized he was holding a cleaver.

He lifted the knife, ready to hit his wrist, when she shouted, "Stop!"

The hand holding the knife froze just an inch above his other wrist.

Han Yixin dashed towards him as she shouted. Her heartbeat was banging through her ears.

"Xiao Xin..." Zhao Mingzhe turned the knife away from his other hand, as he looked pitiful towards his wife.

Han Yixin had an ugly frown, then she looked mad. "How dare you use my tools for your foolishness!"

Zhao Mingzhe had wide eyes, then his face dimmed. He went back to the kitchen and left the knife on the chopping board. He took off his apron and washed his hands.

Han Yixin was still in shock when her husband came back from the kitchen.

He then passed by where she was standing. This alerted her.

"Where are you going?!" she shouted before he could reach the door.

Zhao Mingzhe turned to look at her. "Buying knives." he replied nonchalantly, then turned to open the door.

Before he could pull back the door behind him, a greater pull kept it open and a sudden force almost toppled him from behind.

"Don't!" she said.

Zhao Mingzhe felt her arms around his waist and her head pressed against his back. He froze as he tried to take in what is happening.

Han Yixin wrapped her arms around his waist tighter, then she said, "It's fine...I'm fine now. Stop this nonsense."

Zhao Mingzhe had to put in some force to free himself from her.

Han Yixin felt tears on her cheeks as he successfully pulled her arms off him.

He panicked as he saw her crying. He bent forward and touched her face to wipe her tears.

"My wife, please don't cry. I'm sorry. I was wrong. I shouldn't have done that...I..you being there made things worse, but I know that what I did was wrong, whether you saw it or not. Xiao Xin, I promise not to involve myself with her again. Please forgive me."

Zhao Mingzhe waited for her to stop crying. He stared at her expression and felt deep hatred on himself.

When she managed to control her sobs, Han Yixin took his hands which are wiping tears off her face. She held his hands and lifted her head to face him properly.

"Zhao Mingzhe...your hands...they had held thousands of lives, thousands of feet above the ground. Never should you intentionally hurt them...not for me, not for anything."

Zhao Mingzhe used all his willpower to stop himself from crying as he saw her hands clutching his.

"Xiao Xin...I'm sorry...thank you for staying with me." He embraced her tightly, as if he would not want to let go.

The atmosphere was suddenly interrupted by a loud throat clearing, and a dog bark.
