Loving With My Mind

Chapter 6 - Wedding Night

After the celebration, Zhao Mingzhe drove his new wife to the house his parents bought for them as gift.

They had not been back since the day he gave her a tour.

He parked the car inside the two-slot garage in the backyard.

Before she could open the passenger door, he beat her to it, maintaining the smile on his face.

She opened her mouth to speak, but she screamed when he suddenly carried her in his arms.

She did not have much choice but to support herself through clinging onto his broad shoulders.

He kicked the car door shut, as if it was a beat up old truck rather than his multi-million sportscar.

He steadily walked towards the house, while she stared at him in disbelief.

This guy actually wanted to carry the bride over the threshold.

"Hey..." She frowned.

"Yes, my wife?" he asked with a gentle smile.

"You don't have to do this. Nobody is watching us." she reminded.

"You want me to drop you?" he snickered and lowered his arms, which are supporting her, as if doing a Moro reflex.

She yelped and held on tighter to his neck.

He chuckled. "Guess not. Hold on tight then." He continued walking towards the house.

They went inside the house through the back door which opens into the dining room.

Zhao Mingzhe sighed. They had their first argument in this room.

"Hold on tight." he ordered.

She felt the he moved the arm which supports her back, so she held firmly onto his neck.

He used the freed arm to double lock the back door. Then he continued carrying her upstairs.

Han Yixin is not skinny. She is a bit at the high normal BMI considering her height as she loves yo eat as much as she loves to bake.

However, Zhao Mingzhe has a good physique and stamina. Carrying her looked like a piece of cake for him.

He opened the master bedroom and laid her gently on the bed. Then he walked away and into the bathroom.

He took off his clothes, threw them into the basket hamper and took a cold shower.

She could hear the running water from the bathroom. She blushed as she realized that he will fulfill his duty for their wedding night.

As she was contemplating how to reject her new husband, he came out in a white bathrobe while he was drying his hair with a towel.

"You can shower now." he casually said.

Like a scared bunny, she dashed towards the bathroom and swiftly locked the door.

He chuckled at her antics.

She removed her wedding dress slowly as she heaved a deep sigh.

If she rejects him on their wedding night, she would seem stubborn. Since she decided to go on with the marriage, it would only be reasonable to fulfill her duty as his wife.

She was sighing until she entered the shower.

She shrieked as cold water rained down on her.

He furrowed his brows as he heard her scream.

He knocked on the bathroom door.

"Han Yixin, are you alright? What happened?" There was a tinge of concern in his voice. He was afraid she might have slipped and injured herself. He will never hear the end of it from his parents and in laws if she did.

"I...I'm fine!" she managed to shout as reply.

He heaved a sigh of relief.

He took his laptop and read the reports from LZ Airlines chief engineer as he sat on the bed.

He asked a few questions regarding the report thru email.

[Mu Chunfeng: Will do, Sir. I will report back on the progress. But sir..."]

[Zhao Mingzhe: What now?]

[Mu Chunfeng: Sir, today is your wedding night. Wht are you sending emails? The reports can wait. Young Madam will not let me off when she sees you're doing work instead of doing her...]

[Zhao Mingzhe: You shameless bastard. Get a wife!]

With that, Zhao Mingzhe shut down his computer.

Mu Chunfeng is not only the chief engineer for LZ Airlines, he is also friends with Zhao Mingzhe since they were little, so he could get away with teasing his boss.

As he folded the monitor down, his wife emerged from the bathroom.

She wore the matching set of robe. Her hair was still wet from the shower.

He placed his laptop inside the drawer of the bedside table.

"All done?" he asked.

She gently nodded.

He tapped the unoccupied area of the bed beside him.

She gulped as she obeyed and sat next to him.

Then he furrowed his brows and got up from the bed.

Han Yixin was confused. 'Is he that disgusted by me, so much that he took off the instant I got on the same bed as him?' she thought.

The next moment, he came out from the bathroom holding a hair dryer. He quickly plugged it next to the bedside lamp and sat on the bed behind her.

He gently tousled her hair as the warm air dried the strands.

He was meticulous and gentle. She started to fall asleep.

When he unplugged the hair dryer, she almost fell forward if he was not supporting her shoulder with his other hand.

He chuckled. His wife fell asleep. He adjusted her position as he lied beside her and embraced her. Since he agreed to marry her, he will be a good husband, no matter what.

.

The following morning, Han Yixin woke up to the sounds of birds chirping outside their screened windows. She noticed that she was alone on the bed.

She paused as she assessed herself. Though she only had u.n.d.e.r.w.e.a.r underneath the bathrobe, she did not feel anything different. Her married friends talked about feeling sore and pain after their wedding night. However, she felt the same. It seemed they only slept for the night. She did not understand herself, but sge felt a little disappointed.

When she went downstairs after washing up, she could smell butter and maple syrup coming from the dining room.

On the table are two towers of fluffy pancakes with butter melting on the top and maple syrup dripping on their side.

"Good morning." His deep voice rang from behind her.

Startled, she turned around abruptly and almost lost her footing.

"Woah, watch out!" He reached out and grabbed her with an arm, stretching his other arm away so that the coffee pot he was holding would not scald her.

She closed her eyes bracing for impact when she landed on his sturdy c.h.e.s.t.

"Hey, are you alright?" he asked.

"Hmmn." she nodded beneath his embrace.

He supported her to keep her stance steady. "Let's eat then.

She obediently sat before the dining table. Aside from the pancakes, there were also crispy fried bacon and sunny side up eggs. She looked at the food, then her gaze landed on him.

He scratched his nape. "Sorry. I can only cook these. I even used the rice cooker for the pancakes. You might not be satisfied..."

"Very creative." she cut his explanation. Then she flashed him a genuine smile.

"Well, uhm...I can't do stir fry, but I hope you can find these edible." He was worried that the food will not suit her taste. After all, this is her craft and livelihood. He can never compare with her skills.
