Chapter 28 - Constructing an Assembly Hall

To construct a base, I'll need the Multi-Tool to be upgraded. It means that I need to search for suitable technology on the Technology Cube.

Subsequently, I took out the fully charged Technology Cube out from my dimensional storage. As my hand released the grip, it flown above my hand and a hologram projection was projected. My eyes scanned through the list and found that there was a way to upgrade the Multi-Tool with the small constructor of the ship.

Without further ado, I went to the storage room as the ship's constructor was in there. After reaching the place, I placed the Multi-Tool inside the constructor which was located on the right side before putting the Technology Cube near it.

If I'm not wrong, it's able to connect to anything as long as it is placed near the devices.

Not long after, the Multi-Tool came out from the constructor with a slightly different structure and design. There was also a cube gap at the above that seemed to be a place where the Technology Cube should be placed.

"Now to test it out, I would need to construct something which means I need raw material."

Thereafter, I pointed the Multi-Tool at the pile of metals before pressing one of the buttons. To my surprise, all the metals at the ground were s.u.c.k.e.d in.

Eh? Why does it feel that the dimensional storage inside the Multi-Tool expanded? I think that it was even bigger than my dimensional storage. Yep, that makes sense since it will be needed to construct a big building.

My eyes scanned through the Multi-Tool before tinkering with the hologram at the back. I found that now it was able to construct a building. Afterward, I decided to come out of the ship to start building the base.

As I came out, the wide grassy plain entered my eyesight. As my eyes surveyed the surrounding, I noticed that there were a lot of strange piles of green blob scattered around the place.

"Huh? What the heck is that green blob? Somehow, I feel that they move a moment ago." I scratched my head before moving toward one near me.

Blob~ Blob~

"Is that sound produced by this thing? Are they alive?" As I was curious about them, I took out the Universal Measurement Device before pointing it to them.

My face couldn't help but contort after finding out that it was alive and depending on their size, it had a power point measured around 2-8.

How could they be alive? They didn't have any internal organs. Oh... wait, they look kinda like jellyfish as they may have a transparent organ. I should check them first before proceeding with the construction.

Therefore, I went back to the ship after scooping up some of the curious objects. After putting one into the scanner, I found out that the green blob had a texture resembling that of a jelly and taste like one. It also had quite a nutritious content.

It would be a waste to drive them out of this place, I could make a big farm of these things. The scanner said that they can eat almost anything and reproduce as.e.x.u.a.lly.

Suddenly, a thought came across my mind as I grabbed out the green blob. My hand then reached the dimensional storage before taking out the glass bottle that the knight commander had previously consumed.

"Since I'm here, I might as well scan this." The glass bottle was then placed inside the scanner.

What was stupid was that the glass bottle was the one scanned by the scanner. Although it explained the glass bottle and the knowledge thereof, I didn't care that much.

Hmm? Insufficient data? The content was made from an unknown resource. The scanner also can't detect what kind of content it had? Well, there's no need to think about this further before finding more information about it later.

Afterward, I came out from the ship to continue the construction since I deemed that the jelly-like thing was safe. My hand grabbed the Technology Cube out before putting it onto the gap above the Multi-Tool.

"Now the question is, what kind of building should I make first?" As I was contemplating, a brilliant idea sprung up in my mind.

Next, my hand skimmed through the hologram list before pressing one of the buildings. I moved to a clearing a distance away from the ship before began the construction which lasted for half an hour.

"Hah… if it wasn't for this upgraded Multi-Tool and the Technology Cube assembling the building. How long would it take to construct this thing?" As that was said, my eyes inspected a building with one hundred square meters in size.

It had a quite big automatic door at the front side while the rest of the sides were design strong. It looked like an advanced small factory of some sort If it was observed from afar.

It's a shame though, if there were enough material, I could make something bigger. But meh… as long as it works, it doesn't matter. Wait, why the door won't open? Ah… it didn't have an energy source yet.

Since I didn't have any power generator built yet, I decided to use the nuclear fusion generator on the ship to be attached to the Assembly Hall instead. The building then lit up and the door opened after being powered up.

As I got in, all kinds of machines were scattered around the place. There were lots of assembler attached, meaning that this place was used to make something quite specific. Just when I reached a platform in the middle, a hologram was suddenly projected.

"Yup. It's the right choice to make an Assembly Hall first." A smile formed on my mouth as I skimmed through the list of the hologram.

There were all kinds of things could be made in the Assembly Hall: Robot, advanced artillery, tanks, spacesh.i.p.s, and many others. But depending on their size, the hall couldn't make something like an aircraft carrier as it wasn't big enough.

Just then, I brought out the rest material from the Multi-Tool to be used. Unfortunately, the pile of metals that could make a hill before was only around a meter square big now. After preparing the material to be used, I began the assembly after selecting something on the list.

A few minutes later, five humanoid robots around 180 centimeters tall, which was as tall as me were assembled. Their head was shaped like a human but its face was flat and faceless, only a small dot of a camera was in the middle of the face.

They might look simplistic, but this was what made it perfect since it didn't have a lot of weak spots like a Human does. There were also fingers for them to hold and craft something which solved all the predicament I had.

"Mwahaha… with this Assembly Hall, I would be able to make an unlimited number of robots. Who would be able to stop me then?" As I hysterically laughed, ATHENA's cheerful voice brought me back to reality.

["Master~! There were hundreds of giant crabs rising from the river! What should we do?"]

"Shit! So that must be the other reason that this place was desolate. Well, there's no such thing as a free meal in this world but this will be a good chance to check this robot's power."

After that, I swiftly came out from the Assembly Hall to see what was going on outside, only to find that there were hundreds of half meter-sized giant crabs coming out from the river. Immediately, I told ATHENA to control the robots and followed me to the ship to grab armaments.

Next, I ordered ATA to activate the weaponry on the ship. Since the robot didn't have a subordinate A.I., I could only tell ATHENA to control it. Of course, I sent them out to test their battle power. Unfortunately, there weren't many ammunitions left on the ship, making the gaussian turrets only able to cover the robot limitedly.

As the crabs were getting nearer and nearer, my heart began racing. In response, the robot started taking positions and aimed their pulse rifle to them. Comparing the five robots to them was like comparing five ants to an army of fleas.

But just when they were about to clash, the crabs ignored the robots and went in the other direction. They then moved toward the green blobs scattered around the place and began consuming them.

Eh? I was panic for nothing! How could I know that their target was the green jelly-like thing on the ground? Well, it isn't like I couldn't escape either since the ship need to just fly away.

But as that thought appeared again on my mind, I was upset, "Run, run, and run! Is that what I thought when the situation was a bit dire?" I gritted my teeth before coming out of the ship to redeem myself.

Seeing that the crabs were quite scattered after targeting the green blobs, I decided to attack them sparingly with the robots. Aiming to take the smaller groups one by one to not attract all of them.
