Marcus And Winston Wick In Convergence Of Marvel And DC

Winston and Marcus mainly came to meet their mother before they left for Kamar Taj. When they reached their home, they found a mile away that Diana Prince was talking with their mother. They immediately knew, she came for them. Winston wanted directly barge in, but Marcus stopped him. Marcus pointed out to his younger sibling that she harbors no malicious intention to their mother which they could feel from their soul sensing. The radiant warrior soul of hers was burning like sun which could be detected from miles away. How do they detect soul you ask. It was a skill they obtain in last one and half years from the survival ground, special handy skill, "Soul detection", which lets them detect soul and determine soul quality of any living being. They never stopped training and continued to improve themselves to this day. Though lately their performance in survival ground dropped, as if they hit a bottleneck and failing to move past their current limit.

So, when Winston noticed that Diana means no harm he calmed down and with his brother continued to observe. After a long talk she about their childhood and portray them in as much as good light possible, she showed Diana to her husband's grave. After a few minutes of talk, she left her at the grave. That is the time when Winston approached Diana to subtly hint her to not expose them. As Diana is a headfirst warrior herself, it was the only way to manipulate her as forceful approach would do more harm than good. Well, the charm skill they obtained few years back helped too.

After he was finished with Diana, he met up with Marcus and went ahead to meet Martha. After some hugging they continued...

-Wow, after all this time my babies decided to meet me.

-Come on Ma. We called frequently and wrote letters. (Marcus)

-Yes, you did. But it all the same pained me that you didn't visited me all this time. If not for me visiting you, I would have probably not recognized you today. So, hurry and unpack. I prepared two rooms for you two, as you are big boys now and probably wouldn't want to share a room anymore. Look at how much you have grown.

-Ma, we need to say something.(Winston)

-What is it, Winston?

-You see, we decided to take a trip to find the purpose of our existence and find out who we are, where we came from. Until we find that out, we will not be back.

Marcus answered in a heavy tone. Martha kept quite for a while then spoke,

-I see. You need to find out your origin. Well, will you absolutely not be back?

Winston shook his head. She continued,

-Well, I know you kids can take care of yourselves even though you are only ten. I am your mother so it makes me anxious nonetheless. Can't you postpone this for a while? I am your mother, I deserve to be with you, you know. I mean, you have just come back. Can't you spend some time at home, please?

Marcus wanted to say something but Winston stopped him and said,

-Of course Ma. We are going to spend as much time as you want before we leave.

So for next one year, they gave their full time to their mother, helping her doing farm work. Passing time with her, going to picnic, visiting her friends etc. Thus one year flew by like a breeze.

One sunny morning Marcus and Winston approached Martha.

-Ma, I think shouldn't delay this any longer.

Marcus said. This time even Winston didn't stop him. This last year they didn't made any progress at all and barely was able to survive in the survival grounds at last two instance.

-So, time has come. I can't stop you from going. Just remember, no matter what happens, this is your home and you can always come back here no matter what you find. You understand?

-Yes, Ma. We understand.

As they were about to leave, Martha called them back,

-Wait, I almost forgot. I have something to give you that might help you.

-What is it, Ma?

Winston asked. Martha went in the storage house where their ship of arrival was stored. From one of the drawer she took out a rectangular box.

-Jonathan wanted to give you this when you came of age and would start to look for your origin.

Saying that she opened up the sliding cover, taking out, what seemed like a broken metal piece with pentagonal side and the 'S' symbol embedded at one top while the bottom seemed like a sharp tip. Marcus and Winston held their breath seeing that object as they clearly knew what it was, the command key to any Kryptonian ship with the authority of house of El. How could they forget about it, they wondered. Martha continued,

-When you arrived, this thing was in the chamber you were lying. We thought, may be it holds some importance as a pendant or a birth present. Jonathan took it to a scientist friend to find out what this thing is. He couldn't say anything about that, as the only thing he could say that whatever it is made of doesn't even exist in periodic table. Another way to say, this thing is not from earth.

Taking a deep breath, she spoke again,

-It was just a simple metal piece at first but after... what year was it, may be 1995, yes most probably that year. After 1995, it started to act like a compass and always point towards north. I think you should look for whatever it is pointing at. May be you will find some answers.

Marcus and Winston felt amazed. May be it is one of the anomaly due to the convergence. They don't know it was good or bad, but they sure looked forward it.

-Thanks Ma. It is always better to have some clue to look for rather than having nothing.
