Chapter 251 - Lu Jue, pleading to be liked, was much better than any other boys. (3)
Edited by: Lulu

Mother Lu wasn’t the only one who found out that Ning Zhi would be performing at her school’s anniversary. Grandma Song and Old Mr. Ning found out as well.

Ning Zhi tried as hard as she could to explain that she only had a total of 5 lines and that she was playing the role of Cinderella’s evil stepsister. She attempted to convince them that it was not an important role, so they didn’t need to make a special trip to watch her.

In particular, Ning Zhi did not wish for Old Mr. Ning, in his advanced age and less than ideal health, to make a special trip for it.

Nevertheless, Old Mr. Ning’s mind was already set. “Grandpa never had a chance to see any of your performances when you were a child. Now that I have the opportunity to watch you perform at the university, how could Grandpa miss that?” His tone was so sad that Ning Zhi wondered if he was tearing up on the other end.

Ning Zhi felt sad and agreed to it.

Even Grandma confirmed the time with Ning Zhi repeatedly over the phone. She said that she had never seen her granddaughter-in-law performing before and must be there to see it.

Having no other choice, Ning Zhi agreed to that as well.

As for Mother Lu, her excuse was that she must bring Lu Jue with her to cheer Ning Zhi on.

Ning Zhi wasn’t sure what sort of cheering she was going to need while playing the role of the evil stepsister with just 5 lines.

Inside the laboratory.

Lu Jue was typing away quietly, but his ears were perked up high, listening to one of his coworkers teasing.

“Do I look like a rich person? I hand in all of my salary to the one at home every month.”

Lu Jue’s lips curved upward. He, too, had given Ning Zhi all of his money.

“She just gives me a few hundred a month for pocket money. Lucky I have my private stash.” The coworker had a very complacent look on him.

“You are going to be in so much trouble if your wife ever finds out about it.”

“I’m not an idiot. I hide my private stash very well. She will never find it.”

Lu Jue blinked. All of his money belonged to Zhizhi. He had no private stash.

“Good one, Bro,” praised a younger male coworker.

“That’s nothing. I have my ways. I can coax her very well no matter how angry she gets.” The married male coworker was very proud of himself. “It works like a charm.”

“What way is that, bro?”

“Woo her. Women need to be wooed. The more wooing, the better. Everything is your fault, and your wife can do no wrong.”

The male coworker continued to share his tips. “If your wife is upset, just apologize. You can never go wrong with that.”

Lu Jue paid very close attention to what they were saying and stored the tips in his mind. Must woo Zhizhi.

Everything was his fault, and Zhizhi could do no wrong.

The younger male coworker didn’t like that idea much. “That’s not very manly.”

“Ah, you don’t get it. It’s no use winning over your wife in an argument. What would you get out of that? Might as well just admit that it is your fault. If you want to be manly, save that for the bedroom. Outside of that, you must listen to your wife.

“All in all, be manly in bed, take control, and be proactive . Anything outside of that, don’t hesitate or be petty. You must always woo your wife.”

Lu Jue’s lowered eyelids quivered. He quickly committed that to his memory too. Be proactive with Zhizhi; no making Zhizhi mad.

“Besides, my wife is very pretty. She had a lot of suitors back in school. If I don’t dote on her and be nice to her, what if someone else snags her away from me?” said the male coworker.

Lu Jue’s lips were pinched shut. Zhizhi was pretty. Zhizhi was going to school. Many others would want to take Zhizhi away from him.

“There are a lot of young boys at school, especially compared to us, and they are particularly fond of older big sisters. One of the boys was pursuing my wife. But, of course, I am more charming than he was, and my wife knew better than to choose him over me.”

The young male coworker chuckled. “Bro, that is quite some bragging.”

The man lamented. “Luckily, I went looking for my wife at school very often. I didn’t give the boy the opportunity to make a move.”

Lu Jue’s ears under his red hood moved a little. He could no longer hear what his coworker was saying.

His lips were pinched shut tightly.

Lu Jue did not have any sense of danger, but he worried that Ning Zhi would be snatched away from him by some boy at her school.
