CHAPTER 8

Han’s Little Maid is Hit

“An Chuxia, you can’t go in! Don’t go! Don’t go in there!!!”

Xiao Mingluo shouts the warning but he’s too late. She kicks Year Two, Class A’s door open.

Bang!

She maintains the original kicking posture for three seconds as water splashes all over her body. It is important to have a wash basin over her head. It makes her look like a funny engineer who cannot afford a helmet.

“Ha ha ha ha ha!” The class bursts into laughter until a stool is used to hammer on the table.

“I warned you not to go through the front door.” Xiao Mingluo regrets seeing her current disposition after his warning goes unheard.

An Chuxia casts her eyes to the floor. The water feels warm as it drips off her face. She cries, but nobody notices.

“Oh, shut up!” The class immediately becomes quiet. He waits for the room to be completely silent before continuing. “Are you a turtle that’s so slow in purchasing a bottle of Coke? No, it should be as slow as a snail. The slowest turtle should be climbing here!”

He gets up from his seat and stands before An Chuxia.

She doesn’t speak but her eyes look vacantly at him. Is he doing this because they aren’t at home? So, is he bullying her?

“I ordered you to buy a bottle, why did you buy a box?” Han Qilu asks An Chuxia as she holds on to the box of Coke. But he also notices the bag of ice she’s carrying. Her hands are now cold and pale.

“You told me to buy a box!” She takes a deep breath as she tries to hold back the tears. Unfortunately, she can’t restrain them from falling down.

Han Qilu’s Adam’s apple bobs. His voice quiets down. “I did? I probably… I used the wrong quantifier.” His words didn’t sound sincere. His voice, however, sounds distressed.

An Chuxia glares at him. Han Qilu’s mouth twitches. “Why are you staring at me? Do you think your eyes can look through me and muddle my brain so I’d say the wrong words? Am I the type if person who would end up drinking a box cola?”

She dares not to answer.

Han Qilu pops his neck to the side and sadly continues, “An Chuxia, I don’t owe you anything. Obviously you … .”

Slap!

An Chuxia actually summons her courage and slaps young master Han Qilu on the face.

The whole class is aghast, including Xiao Mingluo who’s shocked as he stands behind An Chuxia.

“Han Qilu, you bastard!” She cries out before running out of the room.

“Hey! An Chuxia!” Xiao Mingluo looks at Han Qilu before chasing after her.

Han Qilu stands motionless. It takes him a long time to digest the fact that she slapped him.

He stays rooted to his spot until the bell rings. His brain had gone blank after what happened.

“Han Qilu, how could you do this? Don’t scare me, ah?” She pouts at Han Qilu, putting a pitiful expression on, pretending to cry on the spot.

If it wasn’t for Xinwei calling his attention… Finally free from his daze, he returns to reality.

“Qilu… say something!”

Mo Xinwei wraps her arms around Han Qilu’s. He frowns as his arms keep shaking. He pries off Mo Xinwei’s grip.
