Master Of Souls

Chapter 7 - Go Qingyue GO

Xia Qingyue's POV

I silently stared at the closed door of his room. Oh.. How I wanted to rip that bastard apart, but, even seeing him just smile was a hair raising, spine-tingling, and goosebumps-inducing for me.

My life became a chaotic mess the moment I saw him.

I was calm and very collected but just seeing him made me lose my composure.

Even if I tried to` suppress my emotions with Frozen Cloud Arts it didn't do any good.

He was mysterious, dangerous, insane and ...more mysterious

I didn't know what to feel about him. I feared him I guess but didn't know why. I don't think I hated him though.

It was probably annoyance. Why? Don't ask. I'm a sixteen-year-old newlywed wife and he comes late in the bridal chamber on the wedding night and just sleeps like no tomorrow. I mean, he should say something about some 'STUFF' so I could say I am the disciple of Frozen Cloud Asgard and I have to stay pure to practice Frozen Cloud Arts. And it was his honor to marry someone like me.

I know it's a bit hypocritical of me to say that but I would be lying if I said I wasn't proud of my beauty.

Okay...Okay, I just wanted to one-up him. I was annoyed at his cool dude attitude.

I was the one who was supposed to be giving the cold shoulder to him.

I couldn't help but giggle at my childish thoughts. I knew I wasn't like this. Most of the time my emotions were suppressed by Frozen cloud Arts. It was quite a dull and hollow feeling. But I felt that life was a bit more colorful with the addition of him.

I was quite curious about this dangerous husband of mine.

I stretched my body up. Last night was one of the few very comfortable sleeps I had. I didn't know how I fell asleep so comfortably with him beside me. But it wasn't so bad of an experience sleeping with him.

After settling all of my thoughts and getting dressed I went out. I didn't know why but I was searching for that guy. He was relatively near. I think he was heading towards the kitchen to eat.

I think I was searching for him but when I saw him I started having second thoughts. Was I searching for him? No No probably not.

I wanted to turn back but still, I didn't want to do that as well.

You know what..Curiosity kills the cat so let's die.

As I approached him, he was walking nearby uncle Xiao lie's courtyard where we saw uncle Xiao Lie watering his flowers and plants.

When I saw uncle Xiao Lie I remembered that we had yet to greet him formally as a married husband and wife. Look like last night was a bit too comfortable.

I saw Xiao Che waiting nearby probably waiting for me.

As he saw us enter, he gently smiled. "You came."

I suddenly felt a warm hand wrapped around mine. It surprised me and I was about to yank it away on pure instincts, I saw Xiao Lie attentively watching us. I was feeling a bit guilty of deceiving him with this marriage.

"Grandfather, you're up so early today again." Xiao Che led me over and naturally greeted uncle Xiao Li with the courtesy of a junior.

"Qingyue pays her respects to grandfather." I lightly curtsied.

"Haha, you two also woke up very early." Seeing Xiao Che and my intimate appearance, uncle Xiao Lie's face revealed a cheerful expression. "Che Er, Qingyue, even though the age of sixteen is a bit early to get married, it also set a part of my heart at ease. Qingyue, you should already know about Che Er's condition. Frankly speaking, this wedding honestly was not fair to you. But our family will spare no expense to make it up to you. Right now, my greatest wish is to see the two of you peacefully live your lives."

Hearing his words and seeing his cheerful appearance the guilt I was feeling multiplied. I froze and didn't know what to reply. I was practically breaking his trust. I had just postponed my entry to the sect for one month to keep the promise my father had given to Xiao Che's father.

"Grandfather, don't say that! I, Xiao Che, am your grandson. There isn't a woman under heaven that I'm not fit for." Xiao Che said with a calm voice.

"Hahahaha." Uncle Xiao Lie burst into laughter, helplessly shaking his head. He looked at Xiao Che with a pampering look: "Oh you, You two should not have eaten this early right? Knowing that the two of you would come, old Hong already had the kitchen send over breakfast. Come, let's eat together."

"Yes, grandfather… That's right, should we call for little aunt to come as well?"

"She had always loved to sleep since she was young. Since it's still early, let's not bother her."

The dining table inside the house was indeed already ladened with three just-cooked portions of breakfast. Xiao Che never let go of my hand and dragged me, to sit shoulder by shoulder on one side of the table. Uncle Xiao Lie began to take his seat opposite them. He had only touched his seat when the sound of hurried footsteps came from outside, accompanied by a coarse voice:

"Fifth Elder! Is the Fifth Elder here?"

"What is it?" Uncle Xiao Lie stood up and slightly wrinkled his brow.

"Clan… Clan master's order. All elders are to immediately go to the main hall to discuss news concerning the future of the Xiao Clan. You must immediately go!"

"…" Uncle Xiao Lie stood up, grabbed the jacket offered to him by Xiao Hong and then spoke to us: "Looks like it's an emergency. You two eat first. There's no need to wait for me."

He dr.a.p.ed his jacket over his body, then quickly left.

As soon as Uncle Xiao Lie left Xiao Che let go of my hand.

"Sorry"

Xiao Che said with such a calm and mild tone that I felt that I would be making a fool of myself if I pursued the matter any further.

Still, his apology sounded like mockery to me. He had already hugged me when we were asleep and then he left like nobody's business and now just because he touched my hand he apologies.

'You Bastard' Of course I said this in my mind.

But, I'll never admit that the hand felt comfortable. Never ever.
