As the time neared, Kong Mingyan instructed everyone to form teams. It was a simple division – the dessert team, the fencing team, and the racing team.

With the teams set, everyone began to prepare for boarding.

Both the guests and cameramen lined up to put on life jackets, and the excited fans managed to calm down. However, their eyes remained wide open, capturing the moment on their phones.

Cheng Qing turned around, holding the jackets, and handed one to Luo Xi. Suddenly, screams erupted from behind her.

Surprised, Cheng Qing paused for a moment, avoiding any unnecessary movements. She turned around and swiftly put on her own jacket, following Liu Suoyu onto the boat.

Seeing Cheng Qing board the boat without hesitation, Luo Xi hurriedly put on her jacket and joined her. To maintain balance on the boat, everyone had to sit at opposite ends.

Liu Suoyu took the first seat on the left, prompting Cheng Qing to naturally choose the seat on the right. As Luo Xi glanced inside with a serious expression, she quickly scurried over to sit next to Cheng Qing.

Cheng Qing smiled at her, ready to say something when another round of screams erupted from outside.

The loud screams caught Cheng Qing off guard. “…Aren’t they a little too excited?”

Cheng Qing hadn’t paid much attention to the entertainment industry in the past, but she had heard some things. She knew that fans in the industry put a lot of effort into loving and protecting their idols.

So, Cheng Qing didn’t find the screams too surprising.

Liu Suoyu commented, “Well, people do enjoy looking at beautiful things.”

Cheng Qing agreed with this and couldn’t help but say, “That’s true. Everyone likes beautiful things, beautiful people.”

As she spoke, her gaze naturally fell upon Luo Xi. After all, in her opinion, Luo Xi was beautiful enough.

Liu Suoyu couldn’t resist teasing, “Why is Teacher Cheng looking at Luo Xi?”

Cheng Qing paused for a moment and responded calmly, “Because she’s good-looking!”

Upon hearing this, Luo Xi felt a sense of pride. “I often think that I look good too.”

Cheng Qing was surprised by her sudden confidence and stifled a laugh. “You… should be more modest.”

Luo Xi immediately nodded and told Cheng Qing, “Actually, I don’t consider myself that good-looking. Teacher Cheng is exaggerating.”

Cheng Qing found her change in tone amusing and replied, “That’s too modest of you.”

As a result, the three of them burst into laughter.

When Lin Shandie walked in and saw them laughing, she asked, “What are you laughing about?”

Liu Suoyu replied, “We’re discussing whether Luo Xi is beautiful or not.”

Lin Shandie was surprised and asked, “Is she really beautiful?”

Cheng Qing smiled and answered, “She’s like a perfect pair of mandarin ducks on an island in a river. A graceful and virtuous lady, the ideal companion for a gentleman. This poem perfectly describes her, it’s very fitting.”

Lin Shandie immediately understood and found it incredibly beautiful.

Every woman enjoys being called pretty, especially when it comes from someone they admire. When Luo Xi heard Cheng Qing’s words, she couldn’t help but feel happy and a little shy. With a playful shake of her head, she looked out at the scenery, her pride shining through.

Cheng Qing glanced at her with a gentle smile.

Even Lin Shandie couldn’t help but feel a bit jealous. How many women dream of receiving such affection?

It seemed like Cheng Qing had specifically come here for Luo Xi.

Even Liu Suoyu noticed a change in Luo Xi since Cheng Qing arrived. Before, Luo Xi was arrogant and unreasonable, and privately, everyone was unhappy with her but kept quiet to save face.

But now, Cheng Qing would tolerate all of Luo Xi’s arrogance and mischief. After working with Luo Xi for a few weeks, I find her truly adorable.

Cheng Qing didn’t pay much attention to these things. After comforting Luo Xi, she noticed the cameraman entering with the camera and told the three of them, “Get ready! The cameraman is here, and we’re about to leave.”

The same cameraman who had been assigned to them before, wearing a life jacket, sat beside Liu Suoyu. This way, he could capture the interactions between the two sitting across from each other perfectly.

Liu Suoyu leaned back, placing his hands on the back of his head, and whistled. “Ah, it feels unfair to be single! Even the cameraman doesn’t want to film me. Am I not famous enough? Or do I not look good anymore?”

Cheng Qing responded, “I think it’s because you talk too much.”

Liu Suoyu stumbled and nearly fell off the boat. He shouted, “Teacher, show me some respect too!”

Lin Shandie burst into laughter, and Cheng Qing and Luo Xi couldn’t help but join in. Liu Suoyu felt even more frustrated, saying, “Sometimes, please comfort and tolerate me too!”

“Hahaha!”

“Haha!”

Even the cameraman joined in the laughter and quickly captured this joyful scene on camera. The fans on the shore, upon hearing the laughter and happy voices coming from the boat, couldn’t help but join in the laughter as well.

Once they were all seated, they started pedaling and steered the boat away from the dock. The boat was manually operated, so they maintained a slow speed, allowing everyone to fully enjoy the breathtaking autumn lake scenery.

They continued pedaling until they reached the center of the lake, where Cheng Qing and the others decided to stop the boat. As they did, ripples formed on the water, creating concentric circles. The clear lake surface beautifully reflected the vibrant green grass and red flowers along the shore. A gentle breeze carried a pleasant fragrance, and the sunlight illuminated the lake, creating shimmering waves of light.

Cheng Qing leaned against the edge of the boat, her eyes fixed on the picturesque scenery of Ai Qing Lake in early autumn. The serene atmosphere and refreshing surroundings filled her with tranquility.

Not only were there enthusiastic fans on the shore, but families of tourists were also enjoying the autumn scenery.

The scene was filled with people moving back and forth, resembling a magnificent autumn painting.

Luo Xi, following Cheng Qing’s gaze, couldn’t help but feel captivated by the view. She softly remarked, “We work every day and rarely get to see such beautiful scenery.”

Cheng Qing turned her head to look at Luo Xi. With her delicate features, even from the side, Luo Xi resembled a heavenly being, capable of captivating someone’s heart with just a single glance.

How could someone so beautiful face such an uncertain future?

Cheng Qing clenched her fist tightly, but her face still wore a gentle smile as she spoke to Luo Xi, “Yes, that’s why whenever we feel unhappy, we should go out and explore the world. The world is so vast, and in comparison, our desires and emotions seem so small.”

Luo Xi nodded, not entirely sure if she agreed with Cheng Qing’s statement.

As they reached the center of the lake, a hidden scene unfolded before their eyes, captivating everyone’s attention. Surprisingly, the boat didn’t continue moving.

However, it was clear that the director didn’t bring them here just for a leisurely boat ride. As time approached, the cameraman handed a task card to Cheng Qing.

Having seen previous episodes, Cheng Qing knew that this card was used to announce tasks to the guests when they came up.

But how did she end up with the card? Cheng Qing didn’t think about it too much and reached out to take it, unfolding the card.

As soon as the task cards appeared, Liu Suoyu and the others felt a sense of unease, and their intuition was right.

Cheng Qing’s expression had become complex, causing their hearts to skip a beat.

After placing the card down, Cheng Qing turned her head to look at the other two boats. The rest of the celebrities on those boats also received their tasks and were currently reading them with their heads bowed.

Cheng Qing started, “Well, here’s what’s happening…”

Everyone held their breath, their eyes locked on Cheng Qing.

Cheng Qing continued, “In the middle of the lake, there’s an island…”

Liu Suoyu and the others turned their heads and indeed, they spotted an island not far away.

Cheng Qing added, “And on that island, there’s a wolf.”

Liu Suoyu, Luo Xi, and Lin Shandie exclaimed, “Ah???”

Cheng Qing nodded with a smile and said, “Yes, we’re going to play Werewolf.”

Liu Suoyu gasped, “Can’t we just play it on a table? Why do we have to play it live???” Then he quickly changed the topic out of worry, “How do we play???”

Cheng Qing gave him the card and explained, “Out of 12 people, one person is the werewolf. Right now, there are 10 cards on the island. The werewolf’s goal is to find 8 of them to win. As for the other 11 players, they’re civilians and only need to find 3 cards to win. Although there’s just one werewolf, they know where all 10 cards are. For the civilians, it’s important to find the cards, but it’s also crucial to figure out who the werewolf is.”

Liu Suoyu asked, “What happens if we lose? What’s the punishment?” If winning means earning points, what happens if we lose?

Cheng Qing looked down at the lake’s surface, lost in thought for a moment, and then spoke with a gentle tone, “If we lose, we’ll have to swim back to the shore from the island.”

Liu Suoyu instantly felt uneasy upon hearing this. The weather had been getting colder in recent days.

Moreover, the distance from the island to the shore was considerable. Swimming back would be exhausting and expose them to the cold.

Nevertheless, they had signed a contract and were obligated to follow the rules of the show.

The group guided the boat to the island’s edge and they stepped ashore. The island was surrounded by vibrant green water, seamlessly blending with the deep blue sky.

Lush trees covered the island, occasionally hosting the graceful flight of birds, presenting a charming scene of natural beauty.

The island was quite sizable, requiring around half an hour to walk around. The shoreline displayed numerous footprints, evidence of frequent visitors. In an open area, a wooden cabin stood.

As Cheng Qing looked up, she noticed cameras strategically positioned around the island, ready to capture various angles. Several cameramen patiently awaited to commence filming. It was clear that the upcoming task wouldn’t be overly simple.

Liu Suoyu expressed disbelief, muttering, “Why is it a mental challenge this time instead of a competition?”

Cheng Qing assessed their surroundings and suggested to the others, “Should we split up and search?”

Luo Xi appeared confused and looked up at Cheng Qing. “Why should we separate?”

Cheng Qing frowned, her brows furrowing. “Even though the island isn’t very large overall, there are likely numerous hiding spots for the cards… too many to count.”

Liu Suoyu also noticed the island’s vastness. “But if we split up, wouldn’t it give the werewolf an opportunity to collect cards among us?”

Cheng Qing glanced at everyone, her gaze lingering on Luo Xi as she offered a gentle smile. “I believe that none of us have been separated since we boarded the ship. The director never explicitly told us our roles as civilians, but they must have informed the werewolf privately, and that person is the werewolf.”

Liu Suoyu thought for a moment. “That makes sense. We’ve been together the whole time, and there hasn’t been any private contact with the cameramen since we boarded. The cameraman has been sitting next to me, so I’m certain I’m not the werewolf, and the others didn’t have a chance either.”

He looked up at the two boats slowly approaching from a distance and anxiously declared, “Let’s start searching! According to Director Kong’s usual approach, the person with more cards will earn higher points.”

So, they went their separate ways along the shore.

Cheng Qing walked alone to a tree, closely followed by the cameraman. She took out a small folded piece of white paper from her pocket and let out a sigh.

She asked the cameraman, “Why me?”

Unfolding the paper, bold black letters spelling “Werewolf” appeared on the white surface. Below the text, there was a detailed map with ten marked locations.

The cameraman explained, “The director probably thinks… you are the least likely to be suspected!” Along with the cards, the paper was handed to Cheng Qing.

Cheng Qing fell silent for a moment and then said, “Either Luo Xi or I… one of us must swim back from here. That’s what the director intends, right?”

The cameraman remained silent.

Cheng Qing realized that the game was actually very simple for the werewolf.

In other words, she had the upper hand.

“Why do I feel like Director Kong is pushing me to make… a choice?” Cheng Qing pondered. It was because Luo Xi, simply put, wasn’t a strong swimmer.
