At 3 o’clock in the afternoon, Cheng Qing and Luo Xi had no idea what kind of behind-the-scenes footage would be revealed.

After lunch, the director led the group outside again. The weather was perfect with a gentle autumn breeze outside, while inside the car, they felt warm like in spring, just wearing thin long-sleeved shirts.

Cheng Qing sighed, leaning against the car window, feeling like someone had tricked her again.

Kong Mingyan, who was with Cheng Qing’s team, saw her looking puzzled and asked, “What’s wrong, Teacher Cheng?”

Cheng Qing squinted at the director and said, “I always feel like the games this morning were made specifically for me.”

Indeed, Kong Mingyan had canceled the morning training session.

After playing cards, they even played video games, which Cheng Qing had mentioned in her interview were one of her weak areas.

Of course, Kong Mingyan would never admit it and turned to look outside the car window, saying, “How could the games set by the production team be specially designed for you?”

Cheng Qing: “…”

Seeing that Cheng Qing had nothing to say, Kong Mingyan continued, “The song you sang today was really good!”

Cheng Qing sighed again. Today, she was forced to sing another song. She couldn’t keep explaining and saying that she knew so many singers who could perform well.

Kong Mingyan couldn’t help but laugh and asked, “So, does the friend who sang this song also not want to debut?”

“Well… Even though they took away my phone, can I still use an MP3 to listen to music?”

Kong Mingyan said that was fine, and Cheng Qing sighed, telling herself that she needed to learn the songs of this world. Otherwise, she really wouldn’t be able to explain it in the future.

In the nanny car, everyone closed their eyes to rest.

When they arrived at their destination, they were surprised to find that it was the same Ai Qing Lake they had visited before.

As they got off the car, just like last time, fans surrounded them. Kong Mingyan had prepared in advance, and the fans were all standing obediently outside the cordoned-off area.

When Cheng Qing got off the car, the crowd immediately erupted into cheers.

“Ah ah ah ah, Teacher Cheng is here!”

“Teacher Cheng!!!”

“I love you ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! Teacher, look at me!!!”

Cheng Qing was startled by the loud cheers when she looked at Ai Qing Lake after getting off the car. She turned around and saw the fans, and there was a cute little girl holding a cartoon doll. The doll was dressed in a cartoon fencing suit, just like Cheng Qing herself?

Cheng Qing was momentarily stunned, but quickly regained her composure. She saw her three students getting off the car one by one, and sure enough, there was a wave of cheers from the crowd for each of them.

No matter who got off the car, there were fans shouting loudly, “I love you ahhhhhhhhh!!!”

Cheng Qing found it amusing and thought the fans were quite adorable. As long as they didn’t collectively attack someone, who wouldn’t be a cute little fan?

Luo Xi’s head popped out of the car, and when she saw Ai Qing Lake, she frowned disapprovingly. “Why are we here again?”

Kong Mingyan chuckled and said, “Because Ai Qing Lake is the biggest lake in Fanhe City. If we want to take a boat ride, we have to come here.”

Luo Xi immediately wrinkled her nose. “Another boat ride?”

Cheng Qing turned around and smiled at her. “What’s there to worry about? Come on down!”

Luo Xi responded with a less than pleasant tone, “I’m worried about you.”

Cheng Qing burst into laughter. Her laughter was full and contagious, making everyone around her unable to resist being happy too. It was like the winter sun, inviting everyone in the South to bask in its warmth, just to experience that comforting feeling amid the cold winter.

Cheng Qing smiled at Luo Xi and playfully pinched her cheek, saying, “Worry about me? Can you take care of yourself? Taking care of yourself is the best thing you can do for me.”

Luo Xi bit her lip, unconvinced. “Of course, I can take care of myself!”

Cheng Qing took a step back, looked her up and down, and asked with a smile, “Do you want to get off the car first?”

Luo Xi was taken aback, looked down, and realized she was still in the car. Blushing, she quickly got off the car in a hurry.

Kong Mingyan smiled and said, “Luo Xi, don’t worry. If you lose later, I’ll punish your teacher.”

Cheng Qing choked, “…”

Luo Xi, of course, was not convinced and turned to glare at Kong Mingyan. “Why? I don’t accept that.”

When Cheng Qing saw Luo Xi standing up for her, she couldn’t help but look at her with eyes filled with affection, like a starry river, tender and nostalgic.

Luo Xi was a little surprised by Cheng Qing’s gaze and turned her head away. Cheng Qing smiled with kind eyes and softly reassured Luo Xi, “It’s okay! If I have to take the punishment for you, I’d be happy to do it.”

Luo Xi blushed as she scolded, “No way, whoever loses will be punished.”

Kong Mingyan laughed and said, “Let’s go with what Luo Xi said, whoever loses will be punished.”

Everyone immediately laughed and agreed, “Fine, let’s do the punishment!”

Liu Yu couldn’t help but ask Kong Mingyan, “Is this going to be another round of Werewolf?”

Kong Mingyan replied, “No, not this time. We’re really going on a boat ride.”

Liu Suoyu muttered, “I really can’t believe what you say.”

Kong Mingyan: “…”

But Kong Mingyan was telling the truth this time. They were indeed not playing Werewolf this time. They were going to play a serious variety show game where two people would form a team and race from one end of Ai Qing Lake to the other, with the option to attack each other’s boats along the way.

After reaching the shore, they would immediately play a game of eating cookies in pairs.

Kong Mingyan explained, “The game rules are simple. The cookie is a chocolate-filled elongated biscuit, about 15cm long. Two people will eat the cookie from both ends towards the middle. The less cookie is left, the richer the reward.”

After Kong Mingyan finished speaking, he stepped aside, and soon all the guests saw a square tablecloth with a white background and pink hearts placed on the square table behind him. In the middle of the cloth, there was a box of chocolate-filled sticks that looked very delicious.

However, this game had been played in many variety shows before. Everyone was not playing it for the first time, so they were quite confident.

Ye Lingyun raised her hand and asked, “How do we form teams?”

Kong Mingyan replied, “Pair up with someone from your original teams.”

Liu Suoyu and Lin Shandie were good at reading each other’s eyes, so without giving Luo Xi a chance to ask, they formed a team on their own.

Luo Xi and Cheng Qing ended up in the same team again, and soon, six boats were ready.

Kong Mingyan led everyone to the shore. This time, they were at a different location compared to the previous game of Werewolf.

Since they had to row the boats themselves this time, they were at another pier.

Upon reaching the shore, the group saw six small boats of different colors floating on the water, swaying with the ripples. The mirror-like water surface reflected the boats and the people standing on the shore.

Cheng Qing walked to the shore, looking down at the clear lake water. Luo Xi followed and stood beside her. Cheng Qing smiled and asked her, “Why did you come along?”

Luo Xi was taken aback. “I, I’m just seeing what you’re doing.”

Cheng Qing shook her head and stood up, saying, “I’m just checking the temperature of the lake water.”

Luo Xi was startled, “Are you preparing for falling into the water?”

Cheng Qing found her amusing and reached out to rub her head playfully. “No need. As long as no one pushes our boat.”

Luo Xi let out a sigh of relief. “You just recovered from being sick, so you shouldn’t go swimming again.”

Cheng Qing was taken aback, her heart trembling slightly from her words, and she could only lower her head and chuckle softly in the end.

The two of them returned to the back and lined up. Soon, the staff began to distribute life jackets.

Cheng Qing and Luo Xi each received a life jacket. While putting on the life jacket, Cheng Qing instructed Luo Xi, “Don’t rush on the way, take your time.”

Then, she led Luo Xi onto the boat, and after they both settled down, she asked, “Do you know how to row?”

Luo Xi obediently shook her head and honestly replied, “I’ve never rowed before.”

Cheng Qing nodded, “I’ll row in the front, just follow my movements.” Luo Xi continued to nod obediently.

“Hey!” Liu Suoyu laughed and said, “Teacher, we can attack each other later. It doesn’t matter how fast you row!”

Cheng Qing wasn’t worried, “I see everyone studying that oar, so there probably aren’t many who know how to row. The premise for attacking is that your boat can move forward properly!”

Liu Suoyu: “…” So arrogant!

Liu Suoyu decided to teach her teacher how to behave. Rowing was also one of his hobbies.

Everyone sat in their positions, and Kong Mingyan smiled and said, “Go for it! There are cameras on the boat, so try not to shake it too much!”

Qi Shenghui’s face turned pale, “Is it really that simple to just not shake the boat too much?”

Kong Mingyan smiled and explained to Qi, “It’s not my decision, but brother Qi, be careful not to go off-camera. You might have to go down later to reshoot!”

Qi Shenghui gasped, feeling that the program crew was too crazy, but he didn’t dare to say anything.

All six boats were ready, and after a whistle sounded, everyone grabbed their paddles and started rowing.

As expected, it wasn’t that easy for novices.

At the beginning, everyone couldn’t control the direction, let alone move forward.

However, because the six boats were close to each other, Cheng Qing and Liu Suoyu, even though they knew how to row, were still trapped inside.

Cheng Qing couldn’t help but laugh and sigh. She turned around to warn Luo Xi to be careful, but as soon as she turned around, she was splashed with water.

Helplessly, Cheng Qing wiped the water off her face and saw Luo Xi holding the paddle with wide eyes, looking innocent.

Cheng Qing was speechless, “Did you do that?”

Luo Xi shook her head, while Liu Suoyu laughed and shouted, “I clearly saw you splashing Teacher Cheng.”

Luo Xi hurriedly explained, “I didn’t do it on purpose! When I used the paddle, the water…”

Cheng Qing smiled, “Don’t worry, just take it easy.”

Luo Xi cautiously said, “Then don’t get mad, okay?”

Cheng Qing chuckled, “I’m not mad.” But then she saw Luo Xi scoop two spoonfuls of water back into the boat.

Liu Suoyu burst into laughter, “Hahaha.”

Cheng Qing glanced at him and then looked at Luo Xi again, saying, “Don’t rush, take your time to practice.” With that, Cheng Qing turned around and started rowing away.

Liu Suoyu clicked his tongue and muttered, “I thought I could provoke the two of you, I’m so silly!”

After the failed attempt at provocation, Liu Suoyu also got splashed by Lin Shandie. Liu Suoyu turned around with wide eyes and asked, “Why did you splash me?”

Lin Shandie looked innocent too, “No, I just tried to row.”

Liu Suoyu: “…”

So, the two skilled rowers managed to steer their boats out of the chaos with great difficulty.

Because the people behind were novices, Liu Suoyu and Cheng Qing decided to put in their own effort. Soon, they left the shore and entered the middle of the lake.

The boats moved leisurely on the surface of the lake, and looking down, they could see the clear lake bed and playful schools of fish. Sitting at the back, Luo Xi enjoyed the scenery with a carefree attitude.

Occasionally, she would glance at Cheng Qing, who was diligently rowing in front, and shake her head with a smile.

They felt like they were gliding on the emerald waves, wandering in a beautiful painting.

Listening to the rhythmic sound of the paddles hitting the water, the serene lake seemed to be filled with liveliness. The ripples created by the boat swayed it forward, and as the boat moved, the person inside also swayed, feeling the joy in their heart.

Surrounded by the breathtaking lake scenery, they eagerly anticipated the adventure ahead.

The ripples under the boat dissipated, and the lake returned to tranquility. But soon, new ripples appeared again as the boat continued to sway gently, making it feel like there were only themselves and the person in front in the whole world.

When passing by that isolated island, Luo Xi remembered the day when Cheng Qing carried her on the island and then went swimming.

“What a handsome teacher!” Luo Xi propped her chin, her eyes mesmerized, like peach blossoms in full bloom.

“Luo Xi, are you not paddling?” Cheng Qing called out.

Startled, Luo Xi looked ahead and saw Cheng Qing turning back with a helpless smile, “Are you slacking off?”

Luo Xi protested, “I’m not!”

Liu Suoyu, who was passing by, immediately said, “She is! She’s been watching you the whole time.”

Luo Xi’s face turned crimson, and she used her paddle to poke Liu Suoyu’s boat in retaliation.

Soon, there came a cacophony of chattering voices from behind, breaking the rare tranquility and bringing Luo Xi back to reality.

Liu Suoyu, who had been poked by Luo Xi, begged for mercy, “Great hero, can I surrender? Stop poking me, or we’ll capsize.”

Luo Xi, still blushing, asked, “Who told you to speak nonsense?”

Liu Suoyu immediately put on a playful and innocent expression, “Did I? Did I?”

“Ah, ah, ah!” Luo Xi couldn’t handle his teasing and was about to get up. Cheng Qing in front felt the boat sway and immediately turned back to shout, “Sit down quickly, be careful not to capsize.”

Luo Xi sat back down with a touch of grievance. Seeing her expression, Cheng Qing couldn’t help but laugh helplessly, “I’ll beat him quickly, why are you bothering with him?”

Luo Xi pointed at Liu Suoyu and said, “He’s talking nonsense.”

Upon hearing that, Cheng Qing couldn’t resist asking with a smile, “Is what he said true?”

Luo Xi was taken aback, feeling embarrassed and indignant, she called out, “Teacher Cheng!!!”

Cheng Qing immediately turned back to row, saying, “I’ll help you defeat him!”

Liu Suoyu shouted, “I’m a boy, how can I lose to Teacher Cheng…”

With that, both boats started rowing with all their might toward the opposite shore. The boats that had just been caught up with from behind were quickly left behind again.

Qi Shenghui and the others: “…..”

Despite all of Luo Xi’s various distractions, Liu Suoyu’s boat barely managed to reach the shore at the same time.

Cheng Qing and Liu Suoyu quickly got off the boat and turned back to help their companions.

Luo Xi also hurriedly got up, but the boat was swaying heavily, making her walk unsteadily.

Cheng Qing simply went up to support Luo Xi, and they held hands as they got off the boat together.

Kong Mingyan was already waiting on the shore, with the prepared cookies on a plate. As the two teams approached, he smiled and said, “Eat the cookies here.”

Cheng Qing quickly picked one, and Liu Suoyu also hurriedly grabbed one.

Lin Shandie suspiciously looked at Liu Suoyu, “Don’t cheat.”

Liu Suoyu stiffened, “Are you suspecting me? I am a man of integrity.”

Lin Shandie: “…”

Ignoring the antics of the two in her team, Cheng Qing put the cookie in her mouth and extended the other end to Luo Xi’s side.

Luo Xi hesitated for a moment, then raised her tiptoes and took a bite from the other end.

Pausing for a moment, she looked up at Cheng Qing, her eyes filled with shyness and charm.

Cheng Qing’s breath hitched, feeling drawn in by the moment.

Seeing that Luo Xi was still shy, Cheng Qing started eating the cookie herself. Luo Xi quickly followed suit, and Liu Suoyu and Lin Shandie on the other end also began the game.

The shore suddenly fell silent, and it seemed like the only sound was the crunching of cookies from the two teams. In this tranquil setting, every sound could be distinctly heard.

In just a few tens of seconds, time seemed to stretch indefinitely. Luo Xi could even feel how each bite Cheng Qing took sounded like.

Occasionally, a bird flew by in the sky, and its melodious chirping filled the air.

The cookies in their mouths were getting shorter and shorter, just like the distance between them was getting closer and closer.

The continuous proximity made Luo Xi’s heartbeat irregular. She didn’t like this game, as it made her unsure if she was playing a game or expecting something else.

The overwhelming closeness allowed them to sense each other’s breath, see the light in each other’s eyes, and feel the vibrations as they bit down on the cookie, sending a shiver down their spines.

As time dragged on, the cookie became shorter and shorter. Their lips almost touched, and even with that distance, they could feel each other’s warmth.

Should they get even closer? Or should they stop here?

Luo Xi slowly lowered her gaze and looked away. The camera was right in front of them, so they couldn’t get any closer.

Cheng Qing stopped, looked at Luo Xi with gentleness, smiled, and reached out to take the last bit of the cookie from between their lips.

Luo Xi clearly felt Cheng Qing’s fingers touch her, and she trembled slightly, stepping back. Cheng Qing also felt Luo Xi’s lips, surprisingly soft and warm.

Cheng Qing hesitated, “I’m sorry.”

Luo Xi turned her head to look at the lake’s surface and whispered, “…Why are you apologizing?”

Cheng Qing replied, “…I don’t know.”

Luo Xi: “….”

Cheng Qing placed the remaining cookie on the table and looked at Kong Mingyan.

Kong Mingyan chuckled and said, “There’s about 2cm left! Not bad!”

Cheng Qing breathed a sigh of relief, and Luo Xi walked to the side, carefully examining the cookie, and asked, “How much more do we need to eat to kiss?”

Kong Mingyan smiled and said, “Just a little more, and you’ll be kissing. Or you can try eating another one?”

Blushing, Luo Xi scolded him, “You’re so shameless.”

Kong Mingyan laughed, “You did something shameless too, so don’t scold me.”

Cheng Qing immediately pulled Luo Xi over and said, “Let’s go receive the prize, don’t mind him.”

Blushing, Luo Xi followed Cheng Qing and said, “Yeah, I won’t mind him.”
