Mine, His

Chapter 31 - Demon

"P-Plagg! Detransform me!" Chat shouted. The room flashed green and Plagg flew out dropping onto the ground, weaker than he'd ever felt.

"Plagg? Plagg! What did I do? What have I done?" Adrien trembled as his body began to shake.

Plagg squeezed his eyes, then opened them to look at Adrien, then at Nino. He crawled through the blood towards Nino, ears flattened.

"He's…"Plagg started.

Nino coughed, blood flowing out of his mouth. Adrien's eyes widened and Nino's glossy, blank eyes squeezed shut upon the coughing fit. Plagg inhaled. " Alive , he's alive. Adrien we can do something!" Plagg said, spinning towards Adrien.

"I-I-I d-don't kn-n-"Adrien stuttered.

"Adrien come on! You know what to do! I know you do. Listen all Fu's ordinary medical supplies are in the therapy room, you get those while I go back in there and try to find the healing stones, we will save him, I promise kid." Plagg said, dragging his body across the floor towards some of the food Nino had left on the ground earlier. He practically inhaled it, and shook his head to alleviate the nausea and head rush.

Adrien looked towards Nino who was still coughing, he was drowning in his own blood. He bit his lip.

"It's not in your thoracic cavity… so you're not suffocating from blood entering your lungs. It's abdominal… So you're vomiting blood. You must have a ruptured organ causing blood to enter your gullet and-" Adrien started talking out loud as rolled Nino onto his side and sprung to his feet. He darted towards Fu's therapy room, words flowing out of his mouth as a coping mechanism to keep himself focused.

"If it's in your abdominal cavity it and this is hematemesis, either your stomach, duodenum, liver or esophagus must be torn, it looks like this is just below your diaphragm and the puncture wound looks like a clean jab to the region but if you have penetrating trauma then you could have internal bleeding and I'd need to perform a laparotomy but right now selective conservatism seems much more appropriate…"

Nino blinked slowly as Adrien re-entered the room with armfuls of bottles and syringes saying some strange things very fast.

"I'm sorry, this is highly unsanitary to be on the floor like this-"Adrien fumbled, pulling out a few sealed vials of a transparent liquid, blood bags, and sealed syringes. "I'm also concerned about why the old man has all this especially fresh blood in that mini fridge-"

Nino wished he could laugh. For the first time, he'd seen Adrien look so fl.u.s.tered, in a dress and make up no less.

He reached out an arm to his friend, kneeling in his crimson blood. "Your blood pressure is off too, you're paling so I need to get some fluids and blood into you right now then seal the-"

Nino blinked again, very slowly.

"-your ankle is also pouring so I'm certain you've got a ruptured vein or artery and it seems it just won't coagulate , but regrettably this is more important and if I can't save your foot then forgive me ,sacrifices must be made in scenarios such as this particular situation because peritoneal penetration injuries are-"

"Adrien?" Nino whispered, his lips dripping with blood.

Adrien's terrified eyes shot to his. "Just…work bro." He smiled at the blonde.

Adrien stared at him for a moment, blankly. How could Nino smile like that, at a time like this? It was clear that for some reason he'd attacked Nino. And quite gorily and ruthlessly at that, but he had a deep regard for Nino, he wouldn't just stick his claws into him.

Suddenly, in a sickening rush all of the preceding events filled his mind. Everything said, and every snarl between the two.

He would never intentionally hurt Nino like that, and he hadn't had the urge to kill anyone that much since Marcus, it wasn't him. Sure, he may have thought all the things he'd said one time or another, but those were passing thoughts that he didn't believe, had Nino thought all of the things he'd said too?

Adrien looked down. "Don't die on me." Adrien responded, collecting his thoughts. He didn't know what had happened for them to behave in the way that they did, but Nino was one of the few people he could stand hearing breathe and not want to rip out his lungs for doing so. If he knew anything, it was that Nino meant a lot to him, and he would not let him die on the floor of a kitchen.

Plagg flew through the tunnel ignoring the smeared blood along the tunnel interior. The room seemed to brighten upon sensing his presence, and Plagg glared hard at the contents.

This would traumatize Adrien for life, and he already had enough problems to work through. He was surprised that Adrien wasn't having a panic attack, but experience told him that the more he suppressed it, the worse it became. Plagg sighed and flew deeper into the room. He needed to get to work quickly, else Adrien would blame Nino's death on himself.

He needed to remember how the containers looked, it seemed though the positions of the containers changed, the containers themselves didn't. He looked over them, committing the colours and shapes to memory.

"Why do I always get stuck with the irritating jobs in life?" He asked nobody in particular. He hovered above some of the sacks for a few moments wondering where he'd put the different items if he were Fu. For a long time, he searched, becoming more and more desperate.

He glanced around the room again. He could feel the magic all around him as he looked at the containers. Something was very odd. That's when he heard a sneeze.

He stilled and listened for another sound. For a while, he heard nothing, but then he heard another sneeze and the room seemed to glitch for a moment, as if he was in a mirage.

He exhaled.

"Trixx, you purple eyed freak of nature, where are you?" He snapped.

"Plagg?" A voice called back.

Plagg rolled his eyes.

"Yes it's Plagg, how did you not recognise my voice earlier?" He asked in irritation. A small auburn head popped up from the far back of the room.

"I'd blocked my ears… I was scared, I thought you were thieves."Trixx said.

Plagg huffed. "No, we're not, now tell me where Fu's healing stuff are."

Trixx tilted his head.

"But Master Fu specifically told me not to let anyone touch the creations…"

"Listen, there's a kid dying out there and he's the successor of the turtle miraculous, so we need to save him."

"How do I know that?" Trixx asked.

Plagg exhaled. Out of all the kwami's, he never actually got along with Trixx. Trixx was what he could easily describe as a thorn in one's paw.

"Listen, I'm not making this up, just give me what I need to heal him." He said.

Trixx eyed him and crossed his own arms. "And how do I know you don't just want to do something illegal, you have been associating with a delusional boy all these years, how do I know if you're one of the good guys?"

Plagg's eye twitched.

"I'm not one of the good guys, I'm just a cat doing what I think is right, and if you don't help me and Nino dies, his blood will be on your hands, and you can be the one to explain to Fu that the Guardian of this century died because you thought that I'm a deceitful douchebag like you." Plagg hissed.

Trixx paused.

Plagg stared back at him. This freak-show was wasting his time.

"Do you even know what's going on out there?" Plagg asked.

"Master Fu and the others are trapped in the Miraculous world, yes I'm aware."Trixx replied cautiously.

"Exactly, you remember Elijah, don't you? He's the one causing all of this, and if Fu is stuck over there, the only ones who can help are the people that we have out here." Plagg said.

Trixx rubbed at his snout and sighed.

"If I get into any sort of trouble, I'm blaming everything on you, you creep."Trixx said a matter-of-factly.

Plagg nodded. "I would expect nothing less."

Trixx clapped his hands together and the room changed into neatly aligned rows of containers. The strange aura that had made Plagg feel agitated before seemed to have dissipated too and he let out a sigh of relief.

He looked at Trixx, "You know, my kids out there are badly injured because of the magic you placed on this room, you need to be more conscious and at least check before putting out something as dangerous as deceitful feelings and thoughts." Plagg said.

Trixx shrugged. "I'm doing my duty, protecting this room as I should. Some of us still believe in carrying out our orders Plagg."

Plagg looked away. "Where is the stash for the guardian?" He asked.

"The light brown boxes over there." Trixx replied. Plagg flew over and opened the containers to find many oddities within it.

He'd remembered Fu giving Marinette black cubes, a glowing stone and some weird biscuits, but that was after Fu himself had fixed Marinette up.

"If you're wondering, the glowing stones over there facilitate internal repair and blood replenishing, least that's what Wayzz said when I was eavesdropping,"Trixx said.

"'Kay, I'll be taking one of these for now, stay here." Plagg said, picking up a growing brown bean-shaped stone and flying towards the entrance.

"Adrien! I've got the…" Plagg started, then stopped when he noticed Adrien sitting next to an unconscious but stitched and bandaged Nino. His index and middle fingers were pressed against Nino's wrist.

Plagg looked at Nino. "Is he…"

Adrien blinked and looked at him.

"Oh, he's stable." Adrien said in what almost sounded like a lifeless tone. "Stable but unconscious. Had to drug him."

Plagg looked at Adrien with raised brows and then at the bean, then at Nino.

"So you mean I spoke to him, that freak for nothing?" Plagg asked, horrified.

"Freak? What freak? Who were you speaking to?" Adrien asked, hazy expression falling.

Plagg flew over to Nino's mouth and shoved the stone in. Even if Nino was stable, it would accelerate the healing.

"Me." Trixx said, as he peeped at them from the oven.

Adrien stared at Trixx. "You look like a fox." He said.

Trixx looked at Adrien. "You look like a woman." Trixx said.

"Well, you sound like a woman." Adrien said with a nose twitch.

"Ladies, ladies, no need to fight over me, there's enough of me to go around." Nino said.

Adrien's eyes shot down to his friend's face.

"You're okay!" He said, letting out a relieved breath.

Trixx raised a brow.

"This is the next guardian?" He eyed Nino.

Plagg and Adrien ignored him, instead engulfing the boy in a hug.

"Dude I thought you were going to die!" Adrien snapped, holding Nino at a distance and smacking the man's head.

"To be fair, I thought I was too." Nino pouted, rubbing his head. Then he paused. "Wait a minute." He said, then smacked Adrien upside the head. "Why are you smacking me? You put a hole in my guts bro!"

Adrien rubbed his head, then narrowed his eyes and smacked Nino's head.

"You started it!"

"Did not!" Nino whacked Adrien back.

"Technically you kind of pushed him." Plagg said to Adrien.

"Wait, why are you talking? You said the room was safe!" Adrien said.

"Of booby traps! And if anything it's Nino's fault for not being fit enough to run fast enough!" Plagg exclaimed.

"Well excuse me but not all of us can leap the streets of Paris for a full-body workout regime!" Nino said, affronted.

"And besides, why didn't you just detransform Adrien?" Nino asked.

"Because I had no energy because you went to prepare us a snack and then got distracted by the oven!" Plagg deadpanned.

"I wasn't the one who got distracted, Adrien was the one that made the stupid discovery!" Nino looked at Adrien who narrowed his eyes.

"That 'stupid discovery' was the whole reason we came here in the first place, and it's not like I knew the room had some demonic force in it!" Adrien snarled.

Plagg gasped.

"You're right, it was his fault! That stinking DEMON!" Plagg hissed, spinning around to point at Trixx.

"My fault? How is any of this my fault? I'm doing my job, if I don't put a negative force of energy on the room then anyone could enter it." Trixx rolled his eyes.

"Sounds like a pretty dead a.s.s lame job to me you glorified rat." Plagg said.

"I'M A FOX. And who are you to talk, you glorified babysitter!" Trixx snapped.

"BABYSITTER? And just who is the baby?" Adrien asked.

"Guys wait wait wait, he's a kwami right? Let's kidnap him and use his powers to take down Elijah!" Nino gasped. Adrien looked at him and gasped.

"That's genius, it's so evil… I love it ." He exclaimed when Nino grabbed his hands.

Trixx furrowed his brows. "Homos.e.x.u.a.ls?"

Both boys snapped their heads towards him. "And what about it?" Nino growled.

"But where is his miraculous?" Adrien asked.

"Master Fu gave it to someone, who for some reason hasn't summoned me yet. Only Tikki and this fool can roam around when the miraculous is not on their wielder, the rest of us have to stay in the box or somewhere with a high enough magic concentration, like this house."Trixx replied.

"Who are you calling a fool?" Plagg hissed.

"Yeah! Plagg's a genius!" Nino stuck his nose in the air. "You see, the humans call me a genius." Plagg crossed his arms.

"If they're anything like this guy then it doesn't mean anything special." Trixx crossed his arms.

"Wait who was the miraculous given to?" Adrien asked.

"Her name is-" Trix started but suddenly, in a bright flash, he vanished into thin air.

The three remaining inhabitants of the room stared at the spot.

"Did he die?" Nino asked.

"We're not that lucky in these parts of Paris."

"We didn't hear who it was given to." Adrien frowned. "That flash looks like you when you go into the ring, so the wielder has to have summoned him… But who?"

"Wait, wait I think I know this, urmmm, urmmm… Only four wielders have been picked for the cat, ladybug, turtle and fox miraculous so far… but I can't recall… " Plagg started, and rubbed his head.

"You're right, I could have sworn you said this… You were telling us about Adrien's mum…"Nino said, groaning as Adrien helped him to his feet with his leg newly healed.

"Hmmm." Adrien hummed in response.

He thought back to the evening when Plagg told him about his mother and he's made a single strange remark at the end that for some reason had irritated Nino.

"-and so are your mama and Nino's loud-mouthed girlfriend."

Adrien and Nino's eyes widened and they looked at Plagg who seemed to have just gotten it too.

"Stupid Chat Noir! Stupid Chloe! Stupid-UGHHHHHHH!" Alya exclaimed as she vigorously swept her bedroom floor.

She put her hand on her h.i.p.s.

"Honestly, who does he think he is?" She muttered, bending down to scoop up the dirt. She was perspiring profusely from her stress-cleaning and the hair around her face stuck to her forehead.

"And  Nino  not telling me." She huffed, walking to the c.h.e.s.t-of-drawers and the mounted mirror to tie up her hair. She pulled open her hair accessory drawer and rummaged a bit to find a hair tie.

"I deserve to know, I deserve to help." She said as she found one and slammed the draw shut. Then she paused and scrunched up her eyes before glancing back at the closed drawer.

Since when did she get a hexagon looking box? She'd had her room locked while she was in New York, so how did that get there? She opened the drawer and picked it up.

"What is this?" She spoke to herself, lifting the lid.

In a bright flash of light, a strange fox looking creature floated before her.

"Hello, my name is Trixx, and I'm your Kwami." He grinned mischievously.

Alya tilted her head, a kwami? What the heck was this?

She blinked, questions later, introductions first.

"My name is-"

Plagg's eyes widened and he looked at the boys.

"Alya!" The all exclaimed at once.
