Miraculously Unrequited

Chapter 30 - Where Are You?

POV of Outsider

----------------------------

Felix ran through the school halls as students scattered away from the yellow blasts of light coming from an unknown source. Flinging open the bathroom door, he barricaded it to make sure no one would follow him in. Opening up his vest pocket he cut through the panic rising up in his stomach and sharply said, "I don't know what's going on but I have a feeling I know who caused it!"

Flying from the pocket, Plagg sighed, "doesn't Hawkoth have anything better to do?"

"You know just as well as I do that he doesn't." With a chuckle, Felix raised his arm high and demanded, "claws out!" Green lights flashed around the stoic boy as he waited for his all black-clad catsuit to adhere to his athletic shape. In an instant, Sir Noir was running toward all of the chaos.

Jumping up onto a roof, he looked around to see people running and screaming from other civilians wearing puffy yellow jackets that have the initials 'L' and 'M' on the back. Looking around, each yellow jacket was punching other civilians changing them into more followers.

Jumping further and further away from the regular Parisians, Sir Noir searched for the Akumatized victim but found nothing even when all he could see was yellow jackets. "Usually we'd see someone by now..." Sir Noir trailed off realizing that he hasn't seen Ladybug yet either. Jumping down from view, he pulled out his staff and tried to call her but received no response.

Most times she's out here before me and if not she's usually trailing behind. He looked around and saw a commotion on the Eiffel Tower. Maybe she's up there fighting already!

Without a moment to lose, he jumped back onto the roofs all the way to the tower.

From behind a steel column, Sir Noir listened to the akumatized victim yell at his newly found followers, "no! I told you to bring them to me, not turn them to my side! Go find them quickly before they find a suitable place to hide!"

"Yes, Street Fighter." The men ran away in search of whoever their leader was looking for. While Sir Noir looked around to find any clue as to where the Akuma was hidden or if Ladybug had been there.

"Marinette, I know you're upset with me right now but once I bring the Agreste boys here, they'll clear everything up for the two of us."

Sir noir turned back to Street Fighter to watch him jump down a level. Following in suit, the sly cat crept over and hid behind another pillar. Crouching down, he saw a gigantic glass bow that held his dear friend Marinette hostage.

What is she doing here? Sir Noir thought of anyone who would want to capture Marinette, Adrien and himself included. But being the dense Englishman he is, no one came to mind.

When Street Fighter finally left, Sir Noir ran up to the glass box to see if he'd be able to break it without creating a commotion. Marinette turned and whispered, "Sir Noir! You need to leave before Luka comes back! If he finds you he'll shoot you and turn you over to his side." She touched her hands to the glass and pleaded with him to leave but he had an itching feeling that he should just break the box and run away with her.

But then his senses came back to him and he said back, "Ladybug and I will find a way to stop him and keep you out of danger! Please wait awhile, Marinette." He touched a hand over hers before turning and jumping up to the next level where Street Fighter stood looking over the city waiting.

"Let them go!" Sir Noir made his presence clear but Street Fighter wasn't fazed.

The akumatized Luka turned around with a Cheshire grin spread across his lips as he laughed, "I hoped you two would come soon! I need to hold up my end of the bargain with Hawkmoth!" Street Fighter looked around then with a scratch on his head he questioned, "but where's your little bug?"

Sir Noir didn't answer because he didn't know how to. Without Ladybug, no matter how much he fought with him, he wouldn't be able to purify the Akuma anyways.

"Cat got your tongue?" Luka's villainous alter-ego cackled making his minions rise from beneath the two of them.

Sir Noir knew that he wouldn't be able to fight them all off alone and prayed that Ladybug would come to help him in the midst of every opponent he was about t face. The followers swarmed the tower making it nearly impossible for the single cat to fight them off all alone. But with enough strength and perseverance, he ripped off jacket after jacket leaving only confused and scared Parisians in the follower's stead.

But for every jacket ripped off, another appeared. He couldn't keep up with them all and finally realized that Ladybug wouldn't be coming to help him this time.

Looking around, Sir Noir spotted an opening and jumped. Falling down the side of the tower, he passed Marinette and realized he wasn't able to save her and left her there alone. Sticking out his staff, he let it smash into the pavement below catching him in the air before he did.

What should I do now? Ladybug is probably one of the followers by now. Sir Noir thought for a moment as he snuck through the streets of Paris trying not to be seen by any of the followers.

"I guess it's time to go see him again, huh?"

~~~
Carefully sliding open the door, Sir Noir popped his head into the small room and saw only Master Fu sitting on the floor. He was smiling patiently as he tapped on the mat next to him motioning for Sir Noir to sit beside him.
He did just that in silence.
They sat for a while not saying a word until Wayzz slew into the room worried, "Master! Hawkmoth has akumatized another civilian and things have never been this out of hand before! Shouldn't we be doing something?"
The two men looked between themselves in silence before Master Fu stood up with a grunt and said, "I see that Ladybug is nowhere to be found."
"Yes, Master. I waited as long as I could but she never showed." Sir Noir stayed seated with his head down in disappointment. "I cannot wait any longer, Street Fighter has taken a young girl hostage!"
Wayzz and Master Fu looked between themselves with a knowing glance. Without needing any more information, he pressed an arrangement of buttons that opened up the Miraculous box to Sir Noir.
"Sir Noir, because Ladybug is has neglected her duties as a holder, you are allowed to choose another Miraculous to help you defeat Street Fighter. But choose wisely for you will not have Ladybug by your side to undo any damage for the time being. Be careful with who you choose to trust with this responsibility." Master Fu waited patiently knowing that his disciple would make the right choice for the fight.
The sun began to sink in the sky as Sir Noir struggled with figuring out who he could possibly ask for help from. Looking up he stammered, "Master, you know as well as I do that I know no one in this city. The only people that could help me are Marinette or--" He stopped himself as he realized who he was about to mention.
Master Fu nodded his head and whispered as the room grew darker and darker by the minute, "he's ready."
Sir Noir's hand hovered over the Dragon Miraculous which gave the power to contain anything, even an Akuma, within its magical jar.
"Do it. You know as well as I that he's ready for this." Master Fu nudged him on just enough for him to snatch the Dragon Miraculous from the box.
Without hesitation, the black cat stood tall and announced, "thank you, Master. I know we can do this. With or without Ladybug."
In a flash, Sir Noir was gone leaving behind a worried Wayzz and a just as anxious on the inside Master Fu.
