Miraculously Unrequited

Watching Felix jump away with such confidence made me wonder if I was really making the right decision entrusting Adrien with another miraculous. I turned to the radio to listen to what was going on with the Akuma fight only to get lost in my own thoughts about Felix, Adrien, and Marinette. Adrien's a kind and headstrong boy, yet he's also emotional and thinks what is best for himself instead of others. He reminds me so much of how Felix was in London.

Closing the window, I sat down on a floor mat and thought to myself about everything. Wayzz stood aside waiting for me to say something, anything. But after a few minutes, he broke the silence, "master? Are you sure this was the right decision? Adrien has been very hostile about losing his Miraculous, is it wise to entrust him when he might still be upset about how everything happened?" He floated up to my shoulder and took a seat.

"There's no way for anyone to know if he's ready but himself. But I know that Adrien will come to terms one day with what has happened."

Wayzz paused for a moment before hesitantly comparing, "like Felix?"

I didn't say anything but looked out of the window and watched the sun go down before answering, "no. Nothing like Felix. They have traveled two different roads to be able to come to the same understanding as each other."

"But, master--"

"That's enough about this Wayzz. We have bigger things to worry about at the moment. If and when they defeat Hawkmoth, I need to decide on what to do after everything settles." I sat in silence to think of different ways other than the obvious on what to do with the Miraculous after the defeat and return of the Moth Miraculous.

If I were to keep Ladybug and Sir Noir together until they get old enough to where they understand that they need to give up their positions, we could stay in Paris this time. But that would also tie the two of them to the city.

Risking their lives every day for the rest of their lives isn't something I want them to endure. One day they'll want to build their homes and families, which may mean leaving the city to follow their own paths.

On top of that, there have been people looking into where all of these superheroes are coming from again. It's not safe for anyone to stay here. They deserve to have the glory of being a Miraculous holder for the rest of their lives, just not at the cost of it.

"Wayzz," I opened my eyes to see my little kwami fly up to me with a worried expression, "bring out the map." Wayzz flew away without a word and brought out an old scroll of the world with various countries and cities marked off in red.

"Master..."

"I know it's hard leaving but with more and more people seeing similarities in the history of miraculous in this world, I can't let us stay in one place for too long. I don't know when we'll leave or where to but it's for everyone to be able to live the way they want to."

"What if they still want to be holders even after the fight?"

I pondered the question and how I should answer for a while before determining, "they're both responsible enough to know when their job is finished. I'm sure the two of them know that once Paris is safe, they'll be giving up their Miraculous unless..." Unless it happens again. Too many people know about the Miraculous, it'd be better to leave the past in the past and leave when the opportunity arrives.

Wayzz asked one more thing as he rolled up the world map after I'd figured out where we'd be going next, "Master...If what happened last time happens again, will you tell Felix the truth?"

I flinched under the question remembering the harsh lie he still believes to this day about Bridgette's 'accident.' I can't answer something I don't know the answer to yet. I did what I did thinking it was in his best interest but looking back now, I should've just let things play out by themselves.

Turning my attention to the radio in the background it echoed in the room, "Sir Noir and Tarragon have been overpowered! Ladybug is still nowhere to be seen, will today be our heroes last day?"
