Miraculously Unrequited

Outsider POV(third person)

Ladybug perched herself atop a small building watching Hawkmoth from the distance as he harrassed Adrien. Rena Rouge and Queen Bee knelt beside her with vengeance burning within their hearts. The three of them didn't flinch even when Sir Noir jumped up with Carapace and Viperion at his side. The six of them didn't speak a word as Ladybug and Sir Noir sat side by side staring up at the Eiffel Tower trying to think out their own plans but failing to even know where to start.

Queen Bee looked to Ladybug and whispered, "I don't see Luka anywhere on the tower! Do you think Hawkmoth akumatised him again?" Her worried expression bled through her yellow mask, making Viperion blush at the girl he'd never really noticed until now.

Turning to the rest of the group, Ladybug lets out a small chuckle and says, "trust me," she glances at Viperion before telling her, "he's fine. But we have no time for this, the moon is high in the sky giving us the *light and shadows we need to move forward. Hawkmoth isn't expecting all of us to be together mostly because of what happened with Tarragon. He probably thinks we wouldn't go to get more back up because our first attempt failed, even though it didn't."

"But Tarragon's identity was revealed," Rena Rouge exclaimed.

Sir Noir gave an almost itching smile, "I knew our master was a little crazy but to think he'd go this far..." He ruffled his hair at the realization that Master Fu chose Adrien to throw Hawkoth off on purpose, "he could've at least told me."

Carapace tilted his head and asked just as confused as everyone else, "dude, what are you talking about? What was who going to tell you?"

"We know who Hawkmoth is and the miraculous holder sent Adrien in as Tarragon to confuse him and give us time to make a plan. I'm guessing he didn't tell anyone because we would never agree to use Adrien as bait." Ladybug rethought her whole plan of action and decided, "alight! I--"

Before she could say anything, a flash of light came from the tower making everyone's heads turn in the direction, "Sir Noir! What do you see?"

He used his cat vision to look ahead and find that Hawkmoth had called upon his butterflies and now wore a purple suit with peac.o.c.k feathers coming out from the back with various colors shining through. Gritting his teeth, he answered his lady, "that bastard is wielding the butterfly and peac.o.c.k miraculous while being akumatised!"

"So he's had two miraculous this whole time?" Rena Rouge gaped at the array of colors radiating from the tower while not knowing what was going on. Carapace held her hand and tried to calm her down.

Ladybug turned back to her newly formed alliance and treaded, "we can still defeat him today! There's no way he'd do anything dangerous while Adrien is up there, we need to use the upper hand we've been given." She pointed to Viperion and said, "you need to keep watch over Queen Bee, Rena, and Carapace for when they get caught by whoever Hawkmoth has on his side. Meanwhile, Sir Noir and I will be going up the tower while Hawkmoth his distracted trying to get the peac.o.c.k miraculous from him because odds are he put the Akuma in there." She went on explaining how they need to stick together at all times and to not let your emotions get the better of you because Hawkmoth can use it against them, especially when we don't know what his power is yet.

Everyone separated leaving Ladybug and Sir Noir alone on the roof. He grabbed her hand and whispered, "we're a team. We can do this together."

Ladybug looks away but shakes her head in agreement. Without another word, they hop down and stealthily make their way to the tower while Hawkmoth immediately spots Queen Bee with her bright yellow suit. He sends out a flock of butterflies towards them and blows a feather at them to make a bigger moth.

The sentimonster flew towards the heroes and started shooting purple beams at each of them as they hopped around the city. Dodge after dodge, Rena Rouge tripped up and was about to be hit when Carapace jumped in front of her and was hit. He fell through the sky after being turned to stone before shattering to pieces on the streets of Paris.

"No!" Rena jumped down towards him but was hit as well but before she hit the floor, a flash of green light appeared sending everyone back in time.

Viperion shouted, "Rena fall back!" She did as she was told making the sentimonster miss her completely. As time on Viperion's bracelet ran thin, the group sped up but became sloppier. Queen Bee noticed the butterfly above them fall back as well and instead of staying in front of them, chased them from behind.

She turned back to see it aiming for Viperion but she knew he was the only one that could turn back the time for them to keep going forward. She pushed him off of the roof and was shot in place forming a statue that was perfectly balanced when Viperion once stood. He reached for his bracelet to go back in time but was too late. The time on his bracelet had run out leaving Rena, Carapace and himself alone to their own decisions.

They tried their best to play with the shadows to keep the sentimonster busy but in the end, only Carapace came out unscathed. He made his way to the tower after leaving a trap for the monster. He grabbed a green blanket from a vacant house and let it peek out from the window to trick the butterfly into thinking he was still in the house. After sneaking out the back, he caught up to Ladybug and Sir Noir and warned them about the others, "the sentimonster turned the others to stone! Viperion couldn't go back in time again because we took too long to get back to the tower or even to a safe spot. Rena sacrificed herself for me, I couldn't let her choice go to waste!" He sighed looking back at the monster fluttering around the building waiting for movement, shooting every once in a while.

Sir Noir grabbed his shoulder, "we'll get them back. We just need to get the peac.o.c.k miraculous away from Hawkmoth instead of worrying about the sentimonster right now."

Ladybug agreed, "we'll have a better chance by keeping Adrien up there behind us so he won't try to strike us." She jumped closer to the tower with Carapace and Sir Noir trailing steadily behind. As they approached, bits and pieces of a haughty conversation echoing down towards them.

Hawkmoth slammed his staff on the ground and yelled at his son crouched on the ground, "why did it have to be you, goddammit!"

"Screw off old man!" Adrien spit back at his with no mercy for the man he didn't know to be his father. He didn't waver under the demeaning presence of the villain he'd been waiting to face since receiving his miraculous. Instead, he struggled against the chains that held him down after Hawkmoth akumatised himself.

Sir Noir snuck of the tower and watched in horror as his uncle struggled to come to terms if he should still go on with his plan as his staff lay a few feet from the edge of th tower. The sly cat swiped it from the ledge gaining the attention of Adrien.

He was about to say something to Noir when Hawkmoth turned back around having made his grave decision, "I hope one day you'll be able to understand why I--!" Before he could finish, all of the colors flowed out of him leaving his signature purple suit with peac.o.c.k feathers coming from his back still. "No! Get back here," he ordered the Akuma to fly back to him but suddenly it was caught by an all-too-familiar red yo-yo brushing through the night. Clenching his fists he ran toward Ladybug in a fit of rage but was knocked back by Sir Noir.

Upon impact, Sir Noir gave him no time to react before snatching the peac.o.c.k from his c.h.e.s.t making the sentimonster dissolve into nothing and Adrien's chains melt away. He stood up from the ground and grabbed the belt from the platform and put it back on to reveal his miraculous hero form: Tarragon.

"I told you they'd come back! Now there's four of us and only one of you!" Adrien stepped closer but was yanked back by someone, "wha-?"

Ladybug pulled him close and whispered, "stay behind us, Adrien. It's the only way for my plan to work!"

He shook her off, "no way! We're a team milady, I'm not letting you protect me!" He remembered when she helped him fight off the men in the alley a few months back then dropped him off at Marinette's house, "we should stick together instead of dismissing each other as burdens!"

"When did I ever say you were being a burden? Why are you acting like this? Just get behind us!"

"No! This is ridiculous and you know it," as the two bickered. Hawkmoth got back to his feet and start snickering to himself making the two of them turn to him. Ladybug tucked Adrien/Tarragon behind her as Carapace lifted his shield while Sir Noir lifted his baton.

"You stupid kids think having him behind you will save yourselves?" He snarled at them, "pathetic."

"If you had even an ounce of love for him, you would just give up now. Give us the miraculous," Sir Noir stepped forward and reached out his hand for it. But Hawkmoth just slapped him away and lifted his hands in the air.

Carapace laughed, "this reminds me of that one scene from Shrek 3 where Snow White summoned all of the animals to attack the evil trees!"

Everyone turned to him, "huh?"

"What on earth are you talking about now?"

"I remember that scene," Tarragon laughed while giving Carapace a fist bump.

They all turned to Hawkmoth to see pure Akumas swarming above him. He sneers before swiftly lowering his arms sending the butterflies towards the team. Ladybug orders, "don't let them akumatise you, we don't have enough time in the night to deal with another villain besides Hawkmoth!" They all scattered while Carapace tried his best to protect everyone with his shield and barrier.

"Carapace!" Ladybug called to him, "protect Tarragon and Sir Noir while I go to the higher level to use my lucky charm!" She was running around the platform while the three guys were clumped together back to back blocking each other.

Sir Noir jumped out before Carapace could put up the barrier to protect them and followed Ladybug up the tower.  With Hawkmoth's laugh bellowing below them, Sir Noir caught up to his hug and did his best to keep what little butterflies followed them away from her. 

She didn't notice him until she looked around and smashed into him. As she rubbed her nose she mumbled, "why are you running so close to me? Wait, why aren't you down there with the others? Tarragon is the person the butterflies are barely touching! It's safer by his side than mine."  She looked around and found all the fallen butterflies around them.

Sir Noir stepped forward and grabbed her hands, "I'm not leaving you to fend for yourself! Like it or not, we're a team."

Giving him a small smile she nodded her head and threw her yo-yo up saying, "luck charm!" The pink lights flashed around them as Ladybug reached up and caught a miraculous box falling from her yo-yo.  She looked around confused trying to think of what she could use it for until it hit her like a truck.  

Right when Hawkmoth jumped up to their level, his neckpiece shaped like a butterfly lit up for only her to understand and see.  She stumbled at the realization rushing to her brain at the speed of sound itself.  Turning to Sir Noir without any hesitation she finally said, "we have to defeat him today.  No more excuses." She began swinging her yo-yo to deflect the butterflies to move closer to their target with the lucky charm in her other hand.

"Ladybug, you only have five minutes!"

She paid no mind to his worries and tossed the box to him, "get ready,"  she demanded of him.  In a blink of an eye, Sir Noir watched Hawkmoth and Ladybug jump higher up the tower, leaving him behind.  He looked down to see Carapace and Tarragon still trapped in a corner.  But looking back up at his one and only bug up there alone, he had to go after her.  

When he reached them, they were neck and neck.  Ladybug slashing her yo-yo like a whip while Hamkmoth brandished his cane like a sword.  With every hit, neither of them faltered in the swings and steps. But it was clear that as the sun began to rise, time was running out and soon the Parisians would come to believe that they've failed them.  

Sir Noir jumped in front of Hawkmoth's swing and shielded Ladybug with his baton.  As her earrings beeped revealing only three minutes left for her, Sir Noir determined, "you need to get out of here now!  He knows you only have five minutes," he shoved the old man back while backing ladybug towards the stairwell to get her out of harm's way.  

Without warning, she jumps over him and tries to grab Hawkmoth but he dodges her and smacks her across the face with his cane.  Standing up and wiping her face, she turns to Sir Noir and says with a determination he's only seen once before, "I'm not running away from this fight!  We're about to finish this, trust me!"

A voice echoed in the back f Sir Noir's head that he'd locked away for so many years, '...Trust me!' He didn't have any words to say but mumbled one in the heat of his discovery, "Bridgette."  His mind blanked as all the pieces from the past began to align with the future, making a switch flip in his heart and mind.
