Miss Ordinary: I Was Reborn To Love You!

Chapter 22 - He wouldn't expose her lie

Meanwhile, on the first floor. Bella Lim made sure that her distance with Eric Wu wasn't giving others the opinion that they were close. No matter how elated she felt at this moment, she knew that walking beside him probably would bring more harm than good.

She watched him ditched people that tried to get close to him in an astute manner. He only needed to display the 'astuteness' in him to one man and it instantly became the ripple effect that stopped people from speaking to him.

They walked to a room that had a few people inside. Three people were occupying the chairs at the center of the room. Director Gun Raymond was sitting in one of the allotted chairs. He rose from his seat and had his back against the table. His eyes were looking at the few people standing in front of him.

"Representatives, thank you for the cooperation. As for the result of your interview, my team will contact you in three days times,"

Bella Lim was confused when she heard that it wasn't a presentation but an interview. So, Jordan Lee lied, or did they change the format of assessment?

"Now, I announced that today's interview had come to an end. As for anyone who didn't come to today's interview, their proposal will be automatically canceled,"

Bella Lim's heart sunk the moment she heard this sentence. She ceased moving and deliberated whether she should run to beg Director Gun or not. However, seeing Eric Wu's broad back, she had a feeling that everything would be fine. She believed that this man was going to help her!

"My team will contact everyone in three days to tell the result. Whatever the result will be, I hope-"

"Direction Gun!"

Everyone's eyes were directed to the person that just entered the room. Director Gun's words hung on the air at the sudden interruption.

"President Eric!" the other people who sat on the allotted chairs instantly stood up and greeted the man with seriousness on their faces. Even Director Gun who was speaking in a laid-back manner just now was looking serious. His expression stiff like a cat on a hot tin roof.

"Oh my gosh, that's President Eric?"

"What a dashing man,"

"I can't believe that I actually meet President Eric,"

Voices began to circulate in the area. Eric Wu swept the whole room with his gaze and instantly it turned into total stillness. The people were as quiet as a mouse, not daring to move until the warning gaze left their body.

Bella Lim who was keeping some distance, realized that Eric Wu was staring at her with eyes that insisted for her to come closer. She bit her lower lips and walked toward the man. She stood on a comfortable distance, not daring to get closer to him. At the same time, she could feel all eyes on her, stripping her n.a.k.e.d.

Under the gazes of these people, Bella Lim wasn't feeling well. This kind of environment where people were judging each other made her uncomfortable.

"Director Gun, is it possible to interview one more person?" Eric Wu was standing in front of Director Gun who had to look up to see him.

"President, of-of course. But, the other representatives still here. I'm afraid…" Director Gun pressed on the word 'representative' and 'here'.

Bella Lim who was eavesdropping knew the implied meaning. Director Gun was saying that the interview could be done if the other representatives weren't there. She stared at Eric Wu who was showing no expression and looked back at Director Gun who began to sweat profusely.

Director Gun was indeed in a complicated situation. He had forgotten that this man would come today. In fact, he had also forgotten that this man had reminded him to retain a slot for the interview. He could give it to him but, his mouth had announced the end of the interview and to suddenly retract what he had announced was a bit...

Director Gun nervously looked at the man in front of him. Even though this man was his nephew, he was still intimidated by his undeniable aura of leadership. Especially now when the man was looking at him with his frosty eyes. He could only hope that this man could understand the situation he was in.

"Just interview her. She has a valid reason to be late," Eric Wu wasn't taking no for an answer. He asked for another chair from one of the Director Gun's workers. The person instantly delivered a comfortable chair for him to sit.

"This, okay," seeing the man sitting casually, Director Gun knew that he wasn't going to entertain his worry. Nevertheless, he was relieved that he didn't disclose his mistake or else his reputation would be ruin. Director Gun sighed as he prompted Bella Lim to stand in the marked spot in the area in front of the judges.

"Representatives, we have a last-minute interview, so I invite you to enjoy the food and beverages outside. My staff will lead the way," Director Gun politely chase the people away. At the same time, he prayed that none of these representatives would act rashly.

However, his prayer wasn't heard. There were two representatives who rose their hands.

"Director Gun, just now you announced that you wouldn't entertain those who are late! This isn't fair for us who came early,"

"Yes, this person is late and now asking for President Eric Wu to help him,"

Bella Lim panicked when she heard the complained of these people. She instinctively looked at Eric Wu who was looking at her with a sneer on his face. He seemed to tell her to handle the rest by herself.

Bella Lim could only sigh. She knew that she couldn't rely on this man who had helped her so many times today. Besides, if she couldn't handle this, it would mean that his effort was wasted. She didn't want Eric Wu to think badly of her.

In addition, she didn't want Director Gun to accused her as a troublemaker. Seeing the man's complicated look made her fearful. She wasn't aware that the other was trying hard to calm himself for the thing he was worried about had happened.

"Good evening!" Bella Lim shouted, instantly causing others to stop talking and pay attention to her.

Eric Wu's right brow rose up the moment he heard her voice. He looked at the woman who somehow was free from the panicky look she had earlier. Moreover, her voice was well-modulated. The volume was enough to get people's attention.

Seeing that all eyes were on her, Bella Lim didn't waste time and said:

"My name's Bella Lim. A representative from Simply Cafe. I was involved in an accident earlier hence the problem. I hope everyone can forgive me and allow me to have this interview," she said and bowed. Her silvery voice was capable to make everyone listened to her plea.

There was a smile on Eric Wu's face. He wouldn't really refer to the incident just now as an accident. But, as compensation for making fun of her earlier in the car, he wouldn't expose her lie.

"Sure!" one representative suddenly shouted.

"It's okay. Look at her disheveled dress and messy hair, looks like she was really involved in an accident," another added.

Director Gun heaved a sigh of relief after listening to the conversation behind him. He was about to tell his fellow judge to be ready when suddenly…

"This is unfair! No matter if she is involved in an accident or not, the rule should remain as a rule. It was clearly stated that the interview started at 8 PM until 10 PM. I will not allow this!"

"Yes, me too. Who knows if she lied," said another.
