Miss Ordinary: I Was Reborn To Love You!

Chapter 24 - Did she forget about us?

"Good," his one-word response made the other judges shake their heads with a smile on their faces. They were all looking at Bella Lim, thinking that she had scored a good reputation in front of the president.

Bella Lim discretely let out a sigh, relieved that everything went well. Then, she listened to Director Gun's final words rephrasing what he told the other representatives when she first entered the room. She realized that the atmosphere in the room had improved for the better.

'No wonder,' she thought after seeing Eric Wu's empty chair. Her eyes marveled at the whole room.

When did he leave?

She felt terrible at herself for the failure to notice the time he left.

After exchanging a few courtesy words with Director Gun, Bella Lim walked out of the room and headed towards the area with a fountain of cakes. The sweet aroma had pulled her to this area. She grabbed some to fill her growling stomach. While eating, she called Lily's number to inquire about her sleeping little pumpkin.

"Don't worry. He is fast asleep,"

Bella Lim exhaled at the positive news. She moved to the other displays of foods, ate some and head out to the entrance. Unknown to her, three people had been watching her from the second floor since she came out of the room.

"Whoa, I'm still creeped out by that woman. She is the definition of a biaaatchh," Sun Nan stretched out the last word. His fingers twirled the glass of drink on his hand. Lu Fei stared at him and casually said in a mocking tone.

"I thought you like her. You kissed her hand the instant you saw her," he sneered.

"Lu Fei, I won't repeat the obvious glasses trap you did!" Sun Nan retaliated as he mimicked Lu Fei's flirting signature.

Lu Fei shook his head and then turned towards Eric Wu who was looking at the first floor, completely ignoring the two of them.

"How was it? Did Bella pass?" Lu Fei glanced at the crowd on the first floor before turning his body, letting his back leaned against the cypress railing. Sun Nan ears perked up at the mention of Bella. He shot a curious stare to the man standing next to Lu Fei.

Eric Wu simply smirked. This made the two became even more curious. They pried him with extensive glares.

"What do you think?" Eric Wu directed their gaze towards a fountain of cakes at the center of the first floor.

Both Lu Fei and Sun Nan were confused, but the moment they saw a familiar girl wearing a black dress, a broad smile on their faces. Bella Lim looked like she was enjoying the delicacies in front of her, ignoring the rest of the party-goers.

"I see. It went well," Lu Fei remarked.

"Look at her going from one section to another. Her mind is filled with food only. Do you think she still remember us?" Sun Nan sulked as he noticed that the woman was too focused on foods without any care for the entertainment that was going on at the party.

Their meeting may be unexpected and short, but it was fun and meaningful to them. She was likable that they didn't mind having her as a friend.

"Who are we to complain? We just met her today. It's understandable," Lu Fei responded. He sounded calm but his eyes were not able to lie. He looked at the woman with regret. Regret that they haven't had the best impression in her mind. All they did were laughing at her misfortune.

"Shit, I really like her. Shall we go down?" Sun Nan proposed.

As they were talking, Eric Wu's phone rang. He listened to the caller and answered.

"I'll be out soon," then, he paused.

"You'll know her," he said, ending the conversation. At the same time, Sun Nan suddenly screamed, causing the people who were on the balcony stared at him with a surprised look.

"Bros, she's leaving!" he tried to suppress his shock.

"How is she going back? Let's send-" Lu Fei had a worried look on his face and was about to suggest sending her home when Eric Wu spoke up.

"I'll handle her. Grandpa is still here. Please entertain him for me," he said and stared at the two who obviously disagreed.

"Bro~" Both prolonged the word.

Eric Wu smirked again and left. Lu Fei and Sun Nan looked at each other and sighed. They lose! This man was too omnipotent to the point that they could only let him take the credit all by himself.

At the entrance, Bella Lim was pacing back and forth, thinking who she should call to pick her up. She recalled that Eric Wu mentioned taking care of her bike which was stranded in the middle of the road. She wondered if he really did it or simply a way to ease her worry at that time.

Sighing, Bella Lim took out her phone again only to see the warning sign notifying that her phone would soon shut down, completely cutting off the option she thought earlier.

"I'll just walk," she mumbled when suddenly a voice called her name.

"Miss Bella?" it was the sound of a young man. His voice is clear and a bit pitchy. She looked up and saw a man in a white shirt. The man's eyes widened the moment he saw her.

"Whoa!" he exclaimed as if not believing at the sight in front of him.

"You really look like her," the man commented with a nodding gesture.

"Who are you?" Bella Lim asked as her vision narrowed. This man was rude. He had been eyeing her from head to toes without considering whether she liked it or not.

The man suddenly looked up. His eyes were now locked on her face like magnets. "Hmm, you look older. Do you have a younger sister?" he asked.

Bella Lim stepped back feeling alarmed. This man reminded her of Eric Wu's question earlier. He too had asked the same question. Did she offend this person? Or, was there someone they knew that looked like her.

"Tao,"

Bella Lim immediately looked back when she heard the voice that was now imprinted on her mind. She saw Eric Wu walked towards them and stand beside her. She froze. This voluntary reaction made her uttered a profanity, although internally.

"President," Tao bowed and greeted the man with respect.

Bella Lim was now able to tell the relationship between these two. A subordinate and his employer. Was this his assistant? That realization made Bella Lim look at the man in a white shirt suspiciously. She remembered that in the past, Eric Wu's assistant had betrayed him. Was it him? She thought and reminded herself to remain vigilant.

"Let's go," Eric Wu said. His assistant responded with a nod.
