The main building of Wu Corporation

There was a somber atmosphere inside one of the meeting rooms in the main building of Wu Corporation. The silence was forced to commence since the ending of today's presentations. No one among the attendees dared to say anything. The shame on their faces was shining as bright as the room, but none was braved enough to hide it.

"Three days are your only chances. Fix those mistakes before I fix you up. Adjourned!" a man sitting at the frontest seat spoke. His rumbling, trembling almost dangerous voice shattered the quiet before it.

The attendees were happy to know that the misery had come to an end. However, no one was rushing to leave for they didn't want to add another mistake on top of the one they already did. Accordingly, the people were seen leaving in an orderly manner with their lips tight, leaving no sound that could annoy the already angry man. Their breathing was controlled, some almost suffocated. Thankfully they were the first to come out of the meeting room.

Eric Wu scoffed as he drank the whole content of the mineral water in front of him. Today he was truly disappointed. Solar representatives once again ruined his mood. The biggest motorbike retailers were nothing but rubbish. Greedy people who only see profit without measuring their own capabilities. If it wasn't because his grandpa had insisted for him to work with this company, he would've rejected them from the very beginning. He didn't understand what the old man saw in such a company.

"President, a phone call from Madam," Tao who was sitting at the chairs for assistants and secretaries walked over.

Eric Wu took the phone call after letting out another sigh. Instead of answering the phone call, he rose from his seat and walked out of the room towards the exclusive elevator for him.

"Tao, we're leaving," he said and Tao responded with a quick nod. He wondered why the president didn't answer the phone call. It was important since the one who called was the Madam.

It wasn't until they reached the car did Tao notice the president returned the Madam's phone call. He drove steadily, not showing the eagerness to eavesdrop.

"Mom," Eric Wu called. His demeanor was now subtle, no longer the tyrant side showed before.

"Eric, what took you so long!" a whiny voice rang. Eric Wu instantly smiled upon hearing his mother's voice. He was too angry earlier hence, he decided to return the call once he had cooled down.

"I was in a meeting. How is everything? I heard from Tao that you called him beforehand to not expose who you are," Eric Wu laughed. He recalled Tao's face who was terrified when his mother requested him to play along with an act of hers.

"Haish, that boy had the worst acting. I was almost exposed. Oh, I've helped Bella and the little boy settled down. They are the cutest things ever. Son, good job bringing them to stay with you," this reply made the face of Eric Wu to twitch.

He regretted telling everything to his mother, but then if he didn't, she would still get the news soon, as to how, he really didn't know. One thing for sure, her way of getting news about him was more effective compared to any news outlet. Maybe, she planted a mole among his staff, whatever, at least she wasn't a busybody like his grandpa.

"Son, say something will you? I think your decision to let Bella become your editor is a good one. She is really a fan of your books. Heaven, I almost made speechless by her," the woman giggled at the end of her sentence. She kept talking and praising Eric Wu for meeting such a nice pair of siblings. Eric Wu thickened his ears to listen. He regretted agreeing with his mother's request to help with Bella Lim and little Ryan's transition to his villa.

"Mom, where are you staying today? Father will be ecstatic if you visit him," he casually said as he pinched the bridge of his nose. He heard his mother scoffed.

"No way. We are still in a cold war!"

Eric Wu sighed when he heard his mother's reply.

"It has been two years. You should've forgiven him," he persuaded, but in reality, he was happy that the conversation finally steered in a different direction and no longer about him and Bella Lim. Although, he did feel sympathy towards his father. That poor man had been missing his mother terribly, however the other simply gave him a cold shoulder.

"Eric, don't try to change the subject. I can't eat dinner with you today. Return home and spend the time with your new housemates,"

Damn! Eric Wu almost cursed. His tactic failed.

"Mom, are you returning to the island? Why are you still staying there?" he asked, another attempt to change the course of the conversation.

"Son, that's my sanctuary. Ahh, since I couldn't spend the time with you tonight, I have a mission for you. Please bring Bella and little Ryan to the island soon. Next month will be good, my peaches and oranges will be ready to be eaten. What say you?"

Eric Wu felt a headache now.

"Madam Olivia, my dearest mother. Bella and her brother are staying with me for safety and work purposes. We are not playing a family game," he grunted. The d.e.s.i.r.e to end the phone call was strong.

Suddenly, he heard his mother laugh. There was excitement in her tone.

"That's also good. You must bring her, I should teach her how to seduce my son. Hahaha... Eric son, my approach is better compared to your grandpa, no?" Madam Olivia let out another laugh. Currently, she was walking towards her private jet. She had come to Azure today from Sinby Haven, a private island she owned.

Eric Wu who had just arrived at his villa was terrified by his mother's enthusiasm. However, she was right, compared to his grandpa, her approach was better, in fact, it was exactly the opposite. His mother would never force him to date or meet anyone. Instead, she would help any woman who she redeemed as the perfect suitor to attract his attention.

"Mom, don't trouble Bella. She has a lot on her plate," he said in a defeated voice. He looked at his villa and sigh. He was curious about how they were doing, but somehow he was afraid to step inside his own house.

"Alright, alright. I will not. Still, son, I want you to bring them to the island next month. If you refuse, I will tell the whole story to your grandpa," Madam Olivia finally backed down but her words were threatening. At least to Eric Wu who understood the dire situation he would be in if his grandpa were informed of the situation.

"Alright, I'll bring them. Don't tell the old man," he was totally defeated now. He roughly combed his hair as he could listen to his mother cheering at her win.

"Hehe... see you guys soon. Bye son, I'm leaving now. Send my regards to Bella,"

Eric Wu closed his eyes, unbothered to reply to the parting words of his mother. He began to wonder if his decision was the right choice. He walked out of the car and entered the villa at a slow pace. He didn't know how to react when he met Bella. He could only hope that little Ryan was the first person he would meet between the siblings.
