Mobile Legend: The Lost Childhood

Chapter 1 - The Vagrant Poet, Granger

"So hungry!" Said the bandit to his boss. "You think your the only one who's hungry? I'm hungry too you idiot." Said the boss with a rough voice. "Its been days since our followers left us for raid at the nearby village. I wondered what happened to them?" Said the second bandit. The boss also wondered what actually happened to his follower? is not the village just a typical peasant village, why does it take more than days to raid it. Other than that, there were no messenger sent to him by his follower who was raiding the village.

"I think we should go and see what happened to them at the peasant village. I'll make sure that they'll receive their punishment for making us wait here. Come on you guys, its time to show them who's the boss here." after saying so with a cynical smile, the boss saddled his horse and prepared to 'pay a visit' to the peasant village.

Two of his follower also felt really excited about it and quickly grab their and the boss' sword and ride their horse quickly. The thought that they would witnessed the scene where the other bandits would be punished by the boss. Little did they know that someone is waiting for them along the road.

Along the way, the two of the bandits kept talking while riding their horse behind the bandit boss. while the bandit horse just kept his mouth shut because he was not interested with the topic the two talking about. "Hey, did you heard a rumor about the Vagrant Poet?" Said the first bandit. "No, why?" Said the second bandit with his left eyebrow lifted a bit.

"You see, if you heard the sound of someone playing a violin, the Vagrant Poet will come to you and kill you that time right there. Some say that the sound of his violin sounded melodious until you losed your focus completely. With that opportunity he made, he will kill you instantly with his gun. Aren't you scare? Wahahaha" The second bandit got really mad when the first bandit was only telling him a joke about it. He was He desperately believes in the rumor but it turns out its just a normal rumor that will vanish in a week or month.

But, not the bandit boss. He heard that rumors from his friend and some of them witnessed what actually happened to the other bandits clan. This poet is not a mere poet. He hunts down bandit and also was trained to be Demon Hunter. In this Land of Dawn, many people d.e.s.i.r.ed to be a successful Demon Hunter like the notorious Demon Hunter, Alucard. But many suffered permanent injuries for battling demons. Especially dealing with the demon slaves who was ruled by the merciless Queen of the Apocalypse, Alice. Many didn't return to their home and others become the food of Blood Demon. S.u.c.k.e.d their blood to maintain their body.

While having the deep thought about it in his mind, the bandit's eyes suddenly locked into his new prey. "Hehe, boys... we got a company here." The horse he was riding galloped in a full speed toward the prey he saw a mile away without him knowing this is the moment where he ride his horse for the last time.

Three of them cornered the man in a black robe with a straw hat hiding his face in every direction by moving around the man so the wouldn't dare to run away from them easily. The bandit boss drew out his long sword followed by his follower and point his sword at him. With arrogance in his voice, the bandit boss let the man hear his d.e.s.i.r.e.

"Haha! Give all of your belonging to us if you want us to spare your life!Do not try anything reckless or we will kill you!" Said the bandit boss to the man with a black robe on him. His followers just grinning with an evil smile glued on their face when thee boss started threatening the man that they thought he was just another passerby. They thought that the man will choose his life and give his belonging to them. But, what the man did was totally different from what those two thinks.

The robed man took out his seemed-to-be a violin and when he starts playing it, the three of them finally realized that they were standing on a spot where they'll die. The sound that was created by the violin friction did not sound heavenly to them but not the man. The man was drugged by the sound of the friction. The pitch of the violin friction made the three of them feel painful as if their eardrums going to explode and they thought their forehead was ripped by unknown blade. It was very painful, even if they tried to plug their ear with cottons or cloth, the sound wouldn't leave their mind. As for the man, he felt like he was playing the violin in front of a huge crowd, praising him that they loved the music of his violin and wanted more of it.

The violin friction did not only affected the three bandits, the horses that they were riding also felt really bad at it and finally gallop until the bandits fell from them and running away from the sound of the man made as far as they can.

As for the three bandits, they kept rolling on the ground with their hand trying to plug their ears. One of them start scratching his head due to extreme headache caused by the friction until his forehead was wounded by it. Not only that, fresh and red liquid start gushing out from the wounded that was scratch plenty of times. While the other bandit felt like his brain was going to explode and he hit his head on the ground plenty of times hoping that the headache would be gone. It was unimaginable pain for three of them that time. How can a normal person like him enjoying listening to this horrendous sound.

After half an hour suffering from that hideous melody, the man who was playing the violin started to felt tired took out a long gun from his back and was ready to shoot the bandits who was lying on the ground. The man without mercy in his eyes shoot two of the bandits without giving them the chance to said their final words.

At last the gun pointed at the head of the bandit boss. The bandit boss was already terrified with the melody of death played by the man in front of him, once again have to feel that way when he was on a gun point. This is the first and last time he'll be begging for his life to be spared.

"Good sir, please... I beg of you to spare my life a..a..a.. and I pro... promise that I will not bully the weak anymore after this... please I beg of you..." Pleading with a stuttering voice, the bandit boss desperately tried to persuade the man to release him.

"Some say... Second chance will change a person but for me those second chance died a long time ago" After saying that with a cold tone, he then pull the trigger of his gun and "BANG!" The bandit man who was just now pleading for his life to be spared got a hole on his heart.

Just before the bandit's life ended there, he managed to utter a loud and clear words to his killer.

"The Vagrant Poet, Granger." Then the body of the bandit boss fell to the ground and stained the soil with his blood and his follower's blood.

Granger blew the smoke coming from his gun and put his violin and his gun back to it's rightful place, the violin in his bag and the gun on his waist holster. Granger knew that the bandit who was pleading for his life just now was the one who lead the bandits troops that invaded the peasant village days ago. He can confirm it because one of the bandits that he killed at he peasant village mentioned him their boss had a scar on neck.

What's more surprisingly, he didn't have to waste anytime to invade the bandit's hideout when he exposed himself to Granger by showing his nature as a bandit just now. For him, it was a fortunate day.

Without wasting anymore time, he decided to visit a nearby town to clean himself from that foul smell of blood. Luckily, the bandit's horse didn't run far from their master was slaughtered. He approached one of the horses slowly to remind the horses that he is not a threat to them since he only kills bad people and demons.

One of the horses felt really comfortable when Granger stroked it's head and decided to accept Granger his new master. Granger felt really glad that the horse didn't panicked when he stroked the head.

"It must be painful to be a pet of a villain. On this day forward, you are now my horse and I name you... uh... Kind."Granger was really happy to have his own companion for his journey full of mysteries. He even named the horse Kind because he sucks at naming things aside being a tone deaf.

By riding Kind, his new horse and companion, he arrived safely at a town named Loda. He rented a room in a tavern. The smell and spots of blood was cleansed from his body. He also washed his robe which was not washed for a few days. He also didn't forget to visit the festival that was held at the town tonight. It was Remembrance festival to remember the great war of Moniyan Empire and the Southern Mountains. It was also a remembrance for the loss of Granger's family and friends.

That night, the festivals was enlivened by the colorful street lights and stalls. Everyone was happy because its been years since the war ended but the scars caused by never forgotten by the victim of the deadly war especially for Granger who lost his families and friend during that dreadful war. Most of them have to move on with their lives and some of them gone crazy because they were still haunted by the bloody history.

Granger just wandered in that huge festival. Kids running around with their friends. Laughing with their friends and families without worries. Granger somewhat jealous with the scene he just seen.Oh how he d.e.s.i.r.ed to be that children right now. To be pampered and to loved by his parents. He lost his families in at a very young age. Affectionate from his parents was what he d.e.s.i.r.ed most from the past few years. Yet, he knew that it wouldn't change the fact that his parents is dead.

That night, whole town gathered at the Sky Lake to lit and let their lanterns fly away as a reminder that the war has ended long time ago and all the bad memories should be forgotten and continue their lives for the future.

During the event, Granger could see Tigreal and Kimmy was patrolling to avoid any unwanted incident during that important event. As expected from the empire's brave guardian. He expected that Alucard would be there somewhere but unfortunately he was tasked to clear a certain demon invasion from a certain village near the borders. Of course someone talented like him would be very busy with S-rated mission these days.

As for Granger, he continue watching as the lanterns start floating to the dark sky in that starry night. It was beautiful for the tourist from another country but not for the people of Moniyan Empire. It was a sad sight. Its like they were like releasing their most beautiful memories with your loved ones that died during that bloody war.

Granger didn't lit his lantern. He just hold it and stare at it for a long time. Remembering the memories of his childhood...
