Mobile Legend: The Lost Childhood

Granger was on his way to the theater to watch Aria's rehearsal for the next performance in the town since she gathered quite fans for herself for he beauty playing the violin. As for Granger he only admired the melody that Aria played nothing much nothing less. No special feeling aside being his friend.

Granger didn't hide himself anymore but he sits far far away from the stage. The theater echoed when they start playing music so how far you sit from the stage you still can hear it well like you were sitting in front of the theater stage. Granger let himself to be drugged by the violin's vibration and he stayed there until the rehearsal ended.

Granger wait for Aria arrival at the exit door because Aria told him to wait for her after the rehearsal. To be honest it a pain in the neck for Granger but Kimmy threatened him to wait and accompany Aria until she exited the monastery area. Granger didn't want to get through that pain given by her a month ago anymore or he will get a dislocated nose.

"Granger! Sorry for being late." While running towards Granger, Aria had to apologize to Granger for troubling him to wait for her at the exit.

"You're done? Lets get away from here before your other group coming here." Didn't wait any longer Granger wanted to quickly leave the place immediately because he did not want to be reprimanded by members of the Aria group.

Aria just followed him until they reach the hallway. Aria stand in front of him and look at Granger like a puppy. Granger was annoyed by it but he decided to shut his mouth. "What do you think about my performance today?" Aria really hoped that Granger will praise her playing skill as she practiced very hard to make Granger impressed with her her hard work.

"Good" Poor Aria, that simple answer shattered her hope. Well, Granger is known to be emotionless boy in the monastery and he had no friends aside her. But still, she knew that Granger is a cool guy and she like the way he is. Although she hoped that praising words would come out from Granger's heavy lips... Haa... you have to work hard for that Aria.

A moment later, Tigreal and Kimmy appeared to pay Granger a visit today. They looked really relieved that Granger finally open his self to other people other than them like Aria.

"Hey, Aria. Its a great things to see both of you dating here." That statement made Aria's face burn hot while Granger didn't reject nor accept it. Because they're weren't dating. Aria's was tagging along. He he couldn't get rid of her because of a certain person. Yes, its Kimmy to be precise.

"Ahahahaha. Look at you two! So cute." Said Kimmy again. "Ehhh no, no, no... we're just friend!" Aria denied it several times. Poor Aria's little heart. She couldn't take those jokes as a joke anymore. But then she realize something. Why she's reacting this way when Kimmy just teased her with a small joke? Ahh, Aria don't know anymore. She take a look at Granger's face but no facial expression appeared on his face. So, Granger only take that teasing as a ridicule.

"Ah yeah, did you already picked what you want to be?" Just before they leave those two, Tigreal mentioned him about the option pick. He think that Granger should pick one of it as soon as possible so he can train Granger to be a Demon Hunter if he decided to be a demon hunter.

As for Aria, she didn't get what they were talking about. But she didn't want to interfere in those unknown matter. Granger just shook his head. Tigreal understood it and left the two of them along with Kimmy.

Granger continue walking towards the gazebo to cool himself. Aria just tagged along and sat beside him inside the gazebo. Both of them just sits there without uttering any words about the matter that Tigreal mention a few moments ago.

Aria was only wiping dust from her violin while Granger just lied down with his eyes closed. Aria sigh a bit when Granger didn't try hard to build a conversation with her. After wiping the dust from her violins, she moved to staring at Granger's face.

Aria just stare at his face for a very long time. Her hand was itchy to rub and pat Granger's black with white strip hair. Its quite unique for someone having more than one hair color. She stroked his white hair gently so she wouldn't wake him up.

It was a beautiful color. Slowly, she stroked the white hair until the end of the hair and stroked it again over and over. Surprisingly Granger have a soft hair and it was really comfortable when she stroked his hair.

She chuckled a bit when she witnessed Granger cute sleeping face. Oh, she wished she could pinch his cheek because his cheek look like a dumpling. White and squishy. She poked his cheek for a bit and she was captivated by the squishy cheek made her wants to poke more!

Granger could feel his cheek being poked by something, as soon he opened his eyes. Aria who was shocked when Granger suddenly woke up made her accidentally poked his left eye.

"ARGH!!!!" Granger screamed in agony when his left eye was poked by Aria's finger. Warm tears start gushing out from his left eye as if the tears was trying to wash away the pain from his eye. Aria was really terrified with her action and quickly ran toward a near by tap to get fresh water to reduce the pain. She filled the bowl she found near the water tap with clear water and then runs back to the gazebo.

"Here... wash your eye with this water..." Aria handed over the bowl of water to Granger and Granger quickly took it and starts splashing the water on his left eye. The cool water did relieve the pain. Aria lend her handkerchief to Granger to wipe the dripping water from his face.

"I'm very sorry..." Aria apologize for her her stupid action just now. Well, she was quite shocked when Granger suddenly blinked his eyes. Granger didn't say anything but he refuse to take Aria's handkerchief.

"Uh, no... I'm fine I'll wipe my face with my shirt." Just before he managed to takes off his clothes, Aria with unsatisfied feeling wiped Granger's face with her handkerchief. Granger was dumbfounded she suddenly start wiping his face.

"Don't be too stubborn, Granger. I said I'm sorry and I want you to use my handkerchief to wipe those handsome face of yours!" Aria was froze when she suddenly said those 'handsome face of your' phrases. Granger was also froze whe Aria said those word.

"ah... Sorry... I mean... wipe your face with this... as a apologize from me..." Aria awkwardly explain those words to Granger with her face was already red like a tomato. How could she be that idiot to exposed what she thought about Granger's look.

Granger just silently take the handkerchief from Aria's hand and slowly wiped the remaining droplets on his face. He didn't know what to reply to her. No one ever call him handsome besides being called stone face that's all.

With a couples of minutes silence, the monastery bell rang indicates that all the orphan has to comeback to the hostel for night prayer. Aria stood up and swipe the dirt on her skirt and packed her violin. She too, have to return to her home quickly.

"Granger, I'm going home. I'll meet you again tomorrow okay?" Granger stood up and offered to accompany her to the gate. "I'm okay... I'll walk by myself" Even though she refused it, Granger insisted to accompany her to the gate as he remember Kimmy's warning if he didn't send her until the gate. Of course Aria didn't know about it. And he didn't intended to tell her that matter anyway.

Just before Granger could walk away from the gate, Aria called his name."Granger... I... I Love you!" After that Aria ran away as fast as lightning. Granger eye was wide opened when he heard that. Love? Did you mean by the feeling you have for someone stronger than a friendship feeling?No, Granger is to emotionless to understand it. He shut his heart a while ago and now someone just confessed their feeling towards him? How should he react to it?

For the first time ever, Granger could feel somewhat pain in his heart like something just stabbed it with a knife. And his heart beating a bit different than usual too. Normally it would beat THUMP... THUMP... THUMP... But right now his heart beating faster like a group of horses is running around his heart.

He stood still in front of the gates until the a guard grasped Granger to awaken him who was standing stiff in front of the entrance gates. Granger walk back to the monastery to get himself before night prayer.

As he walked down the path to the monastery, Kimmy encountered with Granger along the way. "Oh, where have you been?" Granger stopped to answer her question. Lazily he answer. "I just send Aria to the entrance gate. What about you? Staying here all days?" Kimmy was quite surprise for Granger concern to what she do at the monastery.

"Ah... Tigreal asked me to get records of children who applied themselves to be a Demon Hunter. We need to send this report to the guilds so they can quickly trains the new recruit sooner. What about you, Granger? Aren't you going to be Demon Hunter?" Kimmy is really worried about Granger. She could see his potential to be Demon Hunter more than being an Imperial Army.

"I'll have to think deeper about it. Maybe I'll just stay here..." After answering her questions, Granger walked pass her. Kimmy just bit her lips. "What a punk" then she head out to the entrance gates.

Granger climbed the stairs to his bedroom on the third floor with his new roommates since Hans and William had been taken away by the Demon Hunter Guild a while ago because they decided to join the guild earlier before they reached a.d.u.l.thood. They did ask Granger to come with them, but Granger refused as he still don't know what to with his life and he didn't care if he die here at the monastery as a cleaner.

Finally he arrives at his bedroom. Inside the bedroom, there's only two people staying inside there. The new comers and himself. The new comers was moved by the monastery since Granger was the only one who inhabited the room after two of his previous roommates moved out from the monastery. This new comer was bullied by his previous roommates when he was moved to Granger's bedroom, no one ever bother him anymore because he was under influence of Granger because Granger was known as the stone face and rumors being him a maniac made people didn't want to get near with Granger.

So the new comer just stayed in that bedroom all day long. Only comes out for breakfast, lunch and dinner. oh his name? He's Leon. A normal kid. According to the monastery, his parents killed themselves due to ping-pole debts before. Leon was sent to the monastery instead to his relatives because the Imperial Army afraid that Leon will be the debt collectors' target.

Granger didn't pay much attention what people thought about him and what Leon think about him. Granger pulled his towel from the towel hanger and fasten his leg movements to the bathroom before the bathroom is filled with another stinky people especially whom just return from charity works.

Thank god, the bathroom not yet used by anyone else. He took a fast shower and walked back to his room slowly while trying to interpret what Aria said this evening. Usually, he won't give a damn about those thing but when his head start throwing back the event happened a while ago, his heart start to race. Like he just finished running 200 meters.

"I Love you" Those words might mean something else or he just misheard it. Granger quickly shakes off that kind of thinking from his head and continue walking to his bedroom. But his heart won't stop beating. He tried to breath slowly but it seems it didn't work that way. Not only that, her words kept playing in his ear over and over and his memories watching her playing violin start popping out and Aria's various facial expression somewhat keep appearing.

Again, he didn't to be bothered by that uncomfortable way of thinking. He knocked his head with his hand several times before entering his bedroom. Leon's already left the room for dinner and night prayer. Granger wore a navy blue t shirt with long sleeve covering his hand and he wears black jeans that night. He hates cold so he'll mostly will be seen walking around with clothes covering his entire body.

Many residents of the hostel already leaving for dinner. Granger just locked his bedroom and without waiting any much longer, he climbed down the stairs until he reached the ground level. The wardens of the hostel make sure that no ones inside the room by checking each room.

Granger continue walking through the hallway to the dining hall alongside with the other residents of the hostel. That night, magical orbs start rising from the earth illuminates the dark area of the monastery. Most of people would be amazed with that beautiful luminous night, but Granger could only see it as a normal night with nothing special about it.

Finally he and the others arrive at the dining hall. Granger get himself a tray and line up to get his food. When the line finally lets Granger to get his food, Granger mind was still messed up. What does she mean by that. Argh... Stop thinking Granger! You're not yourself tonight! What's wrong with your head?! Granger was angered with himself for being unusual.

Granger quickly pick a place to sit near the wall. As usual no one would dare to have a seat with him. So he munch his food there alone until there's nothing left for him to eat. A moment later the wardens called out the hostel residents to prepare for night prayer.

"All right people, get ready for night prayer." All of the hostel residents just stand up and walk to the tray basin to put the tray in it and next, they're heading to the monastery praying hall. As for Granger, he didn't have any mood to join that night, so he used the back doors of the kitchen to skip. The chefs and their assistants didn't care much what was the stone face do. They let him use the backdoor since Granger used to help them at the kitchen sometimes.

You guys thinks that Granger spent his 10 years hanging around the park? He too have to do charity works. But he rather help the people that manged the kitchen than cleaning the bathroom or sweeping the entire monastery.

Granger exit through the backdoor that leads to the lake behind the dining hall. Right in front of him, there's a old gazebo but still standing in the middle of the lake with the bridge still intact to the gazebo. Slowly he walked on the bridge to get himself to the gazebo. The creak sound sounded when Granger's feet stepped the old wooden planks. But, there's no sign that wood gonna breaks. Granger just resume his walking movement until he reached the old gazebo.

The gazebo was all dusty. Look likes nobody came here for decades or maybe like that. Granger swipe the bench with his b.a.r.e hand. The dust was so thick when Granger clapped his hand it became smokes and made Granger coughed a bit.

Granger landed his b.u.t.t on the old bench and threw his gaze to the lake, looking at his own reflection. A kid that lost his family 10 years ago had grown up into a young teenager. His scarlet eyes resembles his deceased father. What would his father react if he sees his son had grow into a health person. His sweet mother would be crying right now. Maybe, if they were still alive, he have little sister or brother or both of it.

As soon as he closed his eyes, a memory merge into his mind. An old memory of him playing with a certain girl... Who is it? They were so small back then. Playing around at the field where the dandelions and other wild flower blooms. It was a beautiful day for both of them. The small Granger and the small girl. Who is it? He can't see her face.

Its like the sun light was blocking his view from seeing the girl face. As he tried to reach the girl's hand, suddenly the girl fell into the river. She was struggling to keep herself floating. Granger was screaming towards her to stay calm while he figured out something to save her. But the girl can't swim, slowly she start to sink. Granger can't do anything except screamed. "NOOOO"
