Mika has been living a dream-like life since she was escorted by some special services and got separated from her father.

Now she lives with her foster parents in a tall apartment building where the night sky seems the prettiest.

Her parents are loving people who accepted Mika as their daughter readily and never let her feel any kind of discomfort even if she wasn't their blood. They only told her to do what a student should and enjoy her life to the fullest.

They are strict at times but that showed how they care about Mika.

With her new parents, she came to understand what familial love actually meant but for some reason, she never was able to tell them about her reality.

That she wasn't a human...

There was only one person from her school knows about this which made Mika quite bothered and curious at the same time.

Kei.....is a strange person.

He helped Mika a couple of times and she was sure that these arrangements at her new house were also something Kei did, even if a high schooler possibly couldn't have so many connections.

But Mika believes it's Kei who has helped him for some reason. She wants to believe it yet he declined her words and also revealed her identity by just touching her forehead.

'It felt...warm... '

Standing on the extended balcony from her room Mika touched her forehead as she remembered the sensation she felt that day when Kei touched her forehead.

She didn't notice when Mika fell into deep thought and someone appeared on the railing of the balcony.

_._

Kei arrived at the apartment of which Agent Smith gave the address and found Mika standing on the balcony before he jumped over the twentieth floor and landed to her left.

Strangely she didn't notice him at all even Kei didn't go out of his way to erase his presence.

Nodding once again to himself that Mika had indeed changed a lot, he walked forward to greet her.

"Hey-"

"Ah!"

**Smack*

Mika's eyes went wide as she saw the face she punched right now belonged to someone she knew and was thinking about currently.

She hurriedly pulled her hand and bowed in apology.

"I-I am extremely sorry about this, Kei-kun. It's just the reflex defense dad taught me about."

Kei understood that being a daughter of two agents couldn't have let her grow all fragile and weak like before.

But the punch was hard and could have broken a human bone.

"It's alright. Please raise your head."

Mika was way too embarrassed to greet Kei in such a way but to not annoy him anymore she raised herself and looked at him. Still apologetic.

"So how is it going?"

Since Kei has been walking through realms quite a lot without proper rest or meals, he took out a bun and coffee from his spatial storage and one for Mika as well.

Mika knew Kei must have come to meet her not just to ask about her well beings but because there was something else bugging her mind to ask him.

"It's great. Ummm...Kei-kun are you not human as well?"

Kei was surprised that she have to ask this even though he proved his abnormality already. Without much thought, he just nodded and unpinned the seal, and took a mouthful of the beverage.

Mika blinked in even more interest since she wanted to ask what race did he belong to. Since she didn't have any knowledge about other worlds, Mika thought that Kei might be an elf too.

That would be amazing.

But she held her urge and didn't ask anything to make him irritated. She also unsoundly started sipping on the coffee. Kei was appearance was so abrupt that it took her some time to cope up with the situation.

Kei understood her curiosity but he didn't want to dwell on those matters since sooner or later she would be learning about it anyway. Rather he decided to pick the topic in hand first.

"I know your real mother, Mika."

Her movements halted as she heard Kei's nonchalant statement about such a severe matter. Something about which Mika has always wondered.

There was a long silence followed as Mika fell into a daze while trying to believe what she heard was true but failing to comprehend entirely.

Kei took the time and after savoring the sweet bun, he ate a packet of potato chips as well and finished his coffee.

Finding Mika was still silent as ever, he grew impatient as he took a hold of her hand.

"Come let's go."

"Kei-kun wait! What if my mother doesn't want me anymore?"

Remembering the desperation he saw on Yulino's face, Kei felt like sighing but he held it back and responded to the girl in a certain tone.

"Your mother has fallen into depression since the time she lost you. She hasn't seen the light of day for years. Now you know how much she wants to see you?"

Mika was taken aback hearing such a statement which implied nothing else but how badly Mika is being needed and missed by her biological parent.

She never understood how come she wasn't a human and different from others. But now hearing that there was someone like her as well, and wanting to accept Mika's real self made the girl quite complicated.

"But what if I don't like to be with her...."

Mika wasn't sure why she was asking this. Maybe it was because of the way her previous guardian behaved with her. Or maybe her current parents were so good with her, which raised Mika's expectancy?

"If you don't like her, then I promise to get you back right here in a breathe."

Hearing his remark, Mika shot her eyes in his direction and found him looking back at her without hesitation at all. He seemed....cool.

"Now let's go..."

But his following action was not cool at all!

"Waaaaaaahhh!!!"

Well, her complaint was genuine since Kei threw themselves off the twentieth floor...
