Monster Evolution

The fire elementalist concentrated as he gathered more energy in his palms. His normal attacks could not hurt an S Class Level monster, so, He decided to use his ultimate attack directly from the start. He could not make the battle go on much longer or they would not be able to kill the monster. Each passing second the monster was improving in many aspects.

The hunter squads did all its best to stall and block Mark. Failure means death. They used their movement seal talismans that could lower a monsters speed. Almost everything were made by humans as they considered every aspect a monster has, its speed, its power, size and any thing they could think of to help humans win.

"30 seconds!" Shouted the elementalist. Everybody knew this was the critical point, they could not afford to make any mistake.

Mark huge body shot forward like rocket. It carried all his weight and any one who would be hit would be make his insides into mush. A defender from the defense team tried to receive the attack, he wanted to sacrifice his life so his fellow hunters would survive this ordeal. One life lost could bring survival to many, hunters were trained to put their life on the line. There was no turning back for him now he positioned himself in front and readied to receive the attack. He could see the monster getting nearer and nearer, he circulated all of his spirit energy hoping he would make a miracle happen and stop the monster in its track. Sadly, he was blown away in an instant, his insides were crushed in an instant. Mark was like a freight train that crashed into a small car.

He knew it was foolish to do so. He knew that the monsters power was not the same as it was earlier. It kept getting stronger and stronger.

Mark did not stop his attacks and kept moving forward to the elementalist. He was relentless as he ignored other hunters who were in the way. Many of them kept attacking more and more as they added more power and used many talismans that could somehow delay Mark.

If they have known that this monster was abnormal then they should have requested an S Class hunter team from the Regional HQ. The monster surprised them with its ability to absorb spiritual energy in an area.

Calling backup was too late at this moment, and they have no choice as they were the ones on the scene. Many of the free hunters roaming around were already called and not many knew that they would be much help.

Mark used his large, sharp claws to climb the walls upwards into the tall building were the elementalist were charging up. He was getting nearer to the top, he suddenly used his legs like a spring to jump like a rocket blasting off.

The elementalist was still not done charging the energy as Mark was already in front of him, the large monsters arm swiped right and he dodge and retreated backwards, he fired the ball of fire towards mark but it was not in full power and he did not know if it would have the impact he d.e.s.i.r.ed.

He did not hesitate firing and it hit mark right in the face. Mark monster form screamed in pain as flames covered his body. It enveloped him trying to burn him but his scales protected him from the heat. His insides were not as good as the fire would heat his body up.

Seeing this made all the hunters glad and it gave them the opportunity to attack. The elementalist grabbed his weapon, it was a hammer used for blunt attacks. He swung the hammer with all his force downward into Marks head.

The hammer was shrouded with flames as it could deal attack with fire damage. The hammer would leave a burn if it would hit a monster usually but he know now that it wouldn't have much that effect considering the scales, but it was a good weapon for scales as it can be used for blunt attacks making inside damage.

The elementalist swung with full force aiming the head actually hit the shoulder as Mark saw that and moved his head away.

His reactions were quite fast even though he was burning in flames. These flames were not ordinary and most monsters usually die within seconds.

Inside the soul, the space trembled and Mark began waking up. He felt that it was so hot at the moment and didn't know what was happening. His mind of state was controlled by his basic instincts and when he was waking up, he immediately felt all the things his body felt when he was asleep.

There was so much pain and he screamed. His monster form roared. [ROAR SFX]

In his monster state earlier he was mindless and didn't know how to properly control the spirit energy. Seeing that he was burning he tried to use the stored energy to counteract the fire in his body. He saw in front of him a human that was a few meters apart from him carrying a hammer. Mark stared at him and was confused why was he so up high and looking down the person in front of him.

He checked himself and found out that he was transformed. He was shocked of what was happening. He could see around him that there was fire and chaos and few humans were here and there with fear in their eyes.

One thing that came into his mind were him batting humans. He did not know how it happened and why did he lose control. He did not even know how to transform.

'F*ck! Why am I here?' he cursed inwardly.

He was in a dangerous situation and he did not even know what caused it.

The elementalist continued his attacks, swinging his hammer down with the support of the attack hunter squad. Mark felt all their attacks, earlier when he was unconscious the monster did not bother about the pain but now he felt all of it.

He was battling the pain from the burn earlier as the pain did not subside quickly. He could not recover that fast even though monsters have rapid regenerative abilities. The pain doubled as attacks from all sides kept bombarding him. Some would even broke the scales on his back causing blood to flow.

The hunters kept concentrating to most the injured parts of his body as they hoped it would penetrate and hope it would make a major effect.

Mark realized what they were doing and he jumped off the building and tried to escape. He did not know how to win this situation and he knew that he would killed if he were defeated.

He planned to rush towards the mountains, the mountain was full of trees and it could hide his large body. He knew it was slim escaping from the many pursuers of his and they would not allow him to escape as Mark could cause another destruction in the city.

When Mark transformed he never intended to attack the city, all he wanted was to track where Ryan was. It escalated as the hunter tried to do its job. They thought that the monsters purpose was to massacre lot of civilians because it has always been that way.

Mark jumped from building to building towards the mountains. Every hunter saw this and so did the elementalist. He pursued Mark and was right behind him. Using the techniques learned empowering him and increasing his speed he would not lose mark. He was comparable to Mark in terms of speed.

The squad that was tasked to bind Mark took out steel chains that could handle heavy strains of monsters that it would bind. It was not comparable to binding talismans but it was not as convenient.

Mark felt something latched onto his feet and saw chains coiling like huge pythons. He was rooted and he could not move now. He was a few miles from the mountains and a few more and he could have escaped.

The hunters used all what they've got and even used steel chains to bind down Mark. Each chain have 3 hunters pulling it combining their strength. His arms were also binded by the chains and pulled from opposite sides. He was like a person being tortured.

In his mind were ideas what he should do right now. The elementalist saw the opportunity and again channeled energy into his palms into a fireball.

Mark saw this and he was alarmed. He knew now what had caused that burning sensation. This guy in front caused it.

'I may die if get hit again!' Mark's body stopped absorbing energy when he woke up, he did not know how to do that when he was in control. It was not long when he awaken his inner monster physique. He was getting tired and he could not endure much more beating from the hunters.
