"Challenge of Courage, Commence,"

The voice said, and immediately, the protective layer vanished, giving us a clear view of the abomination.

AREE AREE AREE

At the same time, the restriction of movement lifted from the abomination, and it let out screams, from its thousands of mouths, which stopped many of the natives in their

paths.

These are no simple screams, but also the powerful soul attack that not everyone could bear.

The bronze armor had given us enough protection against the scream, but we also needed to have the will to bear it. One of the people who fell to the scream was a Sky Sovereign.

In this challenge, everyone has the same power, but two things will set everyone apart.

The skill and the will.

To conquer this challenge, one would need skills to use the power they have given and the will to bear everything that came in that way. I don't know if I have it, but I will give my damn all.

Unlike us, the Grimms are moving madly toward the abomination.

Not all of them, some didn't seem to have lost all and are being more cautious against the Grimms.

It is not just blind faith that is making the Grimms run toward the abomination, but their blood. The abominations are their creator; the servitude for the abomination is coded into their very cells.

It is very hard to resist it.

Still, some are resisting and moving far more cautious than others. Most of them who are doing that, have a bloodline.

I barely glance at them before focusing on the enemy. It is coming at us, or rather its massive tentacles, and they are fast and each of them screaming with the soul attack, that I have to concentrate on my will to resist them.

Finally, the first house thick tentacle came toward me, and a few natives and it was fast as lightning.

The others beside me jumped while I let it come closer, while the bronze great-sword formed in my hand.

When there was just a meter remaining between us; I jumped with the fiery burst and attacked it with the metallic sharpness and great physical power.

Slash!

My sword slashed through them, giving out a pretty big wound, but instead of making me happy; it turned my expressions bad.

The streak of energy released through the sword should have cut the tentacle far more deeply. If not half-way, then it would have the least cut to a quarter of the distance of tentacles, but it had barely traveled a meter and half.

I wanted to wallow in the disappointment, but I didn't get the chance as another tentacle came from above. Faster and also the one I had just slashed.

'Fuck!' I cursed and moved to dodge the attack.

I dodged it, but the screaming mouths passed so closely to me. That it had left me a little disoriented.

Still, this disorientation is no reason to stop. As tentacles are coming, and I have to dodge them.

I dodged them and, once again, it was too close.

Hun!

Though, this time, I saw something that wiped away all the disorientation out of me.

The Grimms, who were moving toward the tentacles, have all been caught in them. In one tentacle, all mouths moved and merged, forming a huge tentacle and it inserted them inside, before chomping them to the death.

In just seconds, forty-one Grimms were eaten to death. Forty-one Grimms have gotten chomped to death.

Leaving their numbers nearly equal to us.

It had horrified the Grimms, but also us, seeing how easily those tentacles were able to able to kill the Grimms and they would do the same to us if we got caught in it.

For us, it wouldn't even need a big month, any one of the small mouths is more than enough to chomp us to death.

Hun!

I had just thought that when I saw a blue-skinned man getting chomped by one of the tentacles.

Horror filled my heart, but I calmed myself dodged another tentacle, and looked around.

People are everywhere, but I could easily see, some are already going for the kill. They are going for the eye; it is clearly its weakness, but also the strongest part.

Even people going for it didn't dare to go too close to it. They are maintaining the distance, testing the attacks, and letting them get used to it.

Some Grimms had also joined them in that.

I didn't immediately follow them. Despite wanting to, in the rules, it is written that every attack would be scored and those with the highest scores will get the first chance to choose the prize.

Of course, I want to be the first to choose the prize and it is important to me more than others. Given the reward I have got in the last challenge, but patience is a key here.

A few people, like the woman with the stone horns, seemed to understand that, as she was not rushing to go above.

I had only glanced at her when I felt the tentacles coming at me again.

Hun!

I moved to dodge them, when I couldn't help, but become surprised, seeing how they were moving to follow me and block me.

They are working together and also seemed to learn from my earlier dodges, making avoiding them even more difficult.

If that was not even every ear, move toward a single direction and let out their weird sharp scream that I want to vomit out of disorientation.

'Fuck!' I cursed in my head, seeing the tentacles coming close to me and got hold of my emotions through the disorientation and moved my sword ahead.

BANG!

The back of my sword clashed against the coming tentacle, and I used that force, to avoid the one coming from behind, dodging it by inches.

'I need to be extremely careful,' I thought as I got away, but relief was short-lived, as they came at me again.
