"Clear," said the guard. "Thank you," I said as I took my ID from him and walked into the city.

"It is a beautiful city. Unfortunately, it won't be as beautiful after we are done with our mission," said Rynter and sighed.

I nodded with disappointment, too.

It is a big city, and in the center of it is a huge lake. In this huge lake is an island and this is the headquarter of Alna Var; even from a distance, I could see the beautiful building on the island, of all sizes and styles.

Though most of them are white, with less than 5% bearing color, other than white.

"We should find accommodation," I said, and he nodded, but both of us weren't in a hurry. We didn't even take the teleportation formations and instead walked to the city, exploring it.

We bought things that we liked and ate from the street stall; some of the things were really delicious.

I had noted how the cook had made them and plan to make, after I return to tor.

There are four soul senses of Peak-Earth Sovereigns covering the entire city. They are powerful and I tried to gain the data on them as much as possible.

While I have received the information, I could already match that to the people of four soul senses. It is still better to get first-hand knowledge of them; it is especially true for me.

I could see deeper than most people.

Like now, I am carefully studying their soul sense; I have even taken a small sample of them. It is so tiny that they wouldn't notice; even I would barely notice if someone took a small sample of my soul sense.

Soon, stopped in front of the inn.

It is a five-story tall in and all the guests here are primary.

"Rooms for two, please," I said to the receptionist. "How long will you be staying?" she asked. "Three months," I replied, and a faint surprise appeared on her face, but she quickly controlled it.

"22 hals crystals," she replied, and I placed them in front of her.

We have come here as unaffiliated practitioners, looking for work, but we aren't planning to stay here forever.

Just enough, till a Sovereign-class ruin opens, which we both want to enter.

We took our keys but didn't immediately go to our rooms. Instead, we ordered lunch and drinks, while listening to the conversations around us.

This is our job. Listen and wait. As for how long we will have to wait. I don't know.

Still, I am quite excited about the mission. I had already been excited when I chose it, but Ryten had told me things that made me even more excited.

We stayed for an hour, before going back to our rooms.

The rooms are simple enough, but are clean and have a good density of energy, which is what any Primary-III would like, but it is nothing to Sovereign like me.

Still, I breathed in the energy and put a smile on my face. I have also started absorbing the energy that a normal Primary-III would do.

I looked around the rooms and the spying formation. They had one, but it was not active; still, I had added a few of my invisible runes.

If it activated, I would know about it instantly.

With that done, I removed my clothes and went to the bathroom, coming out twenty minutes later, feeling good and clean.

I changed into comfortable clothes and lay on the bed, falling asleep, within a minute.

When I woke up, it was evening, and I was feeling good. I hadn't slept for two days and while it didn't affect me much; I still want to be ready as possible.

I freshened up and walked out of the room. A few minutes later, Ryten joined me, and we had an early dinner in the inn while listening to the conversations of the surrounding people.

"Good luck," I said to him, "You too," he replied and moved toward his destination at the work guild, while I moved toward the alchemist guild.

I am a level 3 alchemist; here, I will verify my credentials and take the job.

Soon, I reached the alchemist guild. It is really a huge guild; it is the biggest, among the surrounding organizations.

Alna Var had a good number of alchemists in their rank. This is not surprising; they have the largest number of herbal gardens, among the six Earth-Grade organizations, which attract the alchemists like fireflies.

Making alchemical goods, their biggest export.

It took me three hours to get my verification, and after that, I had taken the few works and returned to my room in the inn and paid extra for protection formation around the room.

It is a must if I want to practice the alchemy in my room.

Click!

I entered my room and waved my hand and soon, the alchemy equipment appeared in front of me.

I checked each of them and began crafting.

It is hard to fake the lower skill, especially when you are using less than 10% of your power to do it. Even before coming to the city, I had been using less than 10% of my mind's power.

I came out was when talking with Rynter and the alchemical guild. Even now, when I had started with the alchemy, I am using 10% of my mind power.

I have chosen to craft three types of alchemical goods. They are not hard, but not easy either, for a normal Grade III alchemist.

I had chosen them based on the process.

All three of them require minimal steps and depend on more energy control. Which suits me the most.

Hours passed, and I finished the first badge of goods. When I looked at them, a smile couldn't help but appear on my face.

I smiled not because I have crafted them without mistake, but because I was able to do it with limited mind power and didn't face much difficulty, either.
