3628 You Have Killed My Brother

I pulled, and immediately the critter appeared in my core. This one was an Earth-Sovereign, after so many Sovereigns.

It was a weak one; it took me a second to kill it and test energy, which took two seconds. I had pulled it into my core.

I didn't waste any time and resumed my journey.

Eleven minutes passed, and I was about to move toward the Sovereign critter, not far away, when suddenly my soul wave brought back something that froze me on my spot for a second.

A Sky Sovereign coming in my direction, and it is coming fast.

The waves after the first that informed me had told me its speed and it wouldn't take long for it to reach me. It didn't seem to have sensed me yet, but it would very soon.

I looked around and wanted to curse when I didn't see anything that could hide me. Not even a single boulder, much less a hill.

I couldn't hide in my abode. If I had brought it out now, it would sense it. Its soul sense had already covered me and would discover me the moment I did something like that.

So, I did the only thing I could. I sealed my power and activated the stationary stealth. With it, the power of the stealth enhances and the only thing I have to do is remain frozen.

As for why I am doing that since the Sky Sovereign is native? Well, because it is not our Sky Sovereign; it is cultist.

It didn't take long for me to see it, and it was moving at incredible speed. Despite that, the half-elf is moving at an incredible speed, much faster than, my fastest speed.

As I saw it, my face paled. It is coming directly toward me; looking at his trajectory, there would be less than ten meters of distance between him and me, when he will reach the closest.

There is no way, it wouldn't be able to discover me at such close distance.

I might have had some hope if he had been a hundred or more meters away. He is just an Initial Sovereign. He still had the ability to kill me, but I have somewhat confidence in his sensory abilities.

Now, only luck could save me from him.

It might, seeing he hadn't discovered me yet and all his focus seemed to be on the critter.

He came closer and closer and soon, there was an only a mile of distance remained between us, and when I blinked. It had reduced to half and in another blink, there was less than a hundred meters had remained.

I watched him, moving at a blurring speed. Getting closer, till there are only eight and a half meters have remained between us.

Even then, he kept moving, and that distance began to increase, and soon; it had reached fifty meters.

Hun!

I began to feel relief when suddenly; he stopped and turned sharply at me, with a clear surprise in his eyes.

"Well, I be dammed!" He cursed in surprise, as all his soul sense concentrated on me. Knowing I had been discovered; I let go of the stealth method.

"Sky Sovereign," I greeted the half-elf man, who looked to be in his early thirties.

"I have to say, it was one heck of the stealth method. I didn't discover you, even when I passed so closely by you," he said, still having a hint of surprise in his voice.

"It is all because all your focus had been on critter Sky Sovereign. If not for it, you would have been able to discover me rather easily," I replied, giving him a convenient excuse for his inability to sense, and he nodded.

"So, you know what these things are?" he asked, and I nodded, before throwing a crystal at him.

"Yes. I had come across information about them a few years ago," I replied as he caught the crystal and seeped his soul sense into it.

A few seconds later, his eyes widened in surprise with a hint of horror in it.

"My god!" he exclaimed in fear as brought out his soul sense out of the crystal. "These things are far more dangerous than I had thought," he said, looking at me, while all I could do was nod.

Things turned a little awkward for me soon, as there was not much to talk about. Though I could ask him many questions, they didn't seem fit to do it, seeing the way he was looking at me,

There is a smile on his face, but hidden behind that smile is a coldness.

"You have killed my brother." He said after nearly a minute of silence. "I have no choice. He didn't surrender," I replied simply.

"Well, I didn't have a choice either," he said with a grin and came at me with a blue crystal sword.

His speed was fast, he appeared in front of me in an instant and moved his sword to decapitate me. It was an extremely fast attack that I could barely track and there was no way, I would be able to defend.

Puch!

Still, I activated every bit of power and was about to burn my blood when something shocking happened.

I saw a red energy lance coming out of the chest of the half-elf, while he watched in shock.

"The cultist, never be trusted to think about the big picture. They would always put their survival first, before the others," said Tiger Beastman appeared in front of me.

"Thank you, for saving me. Sky Sovereign, Mrenin," I said to the man.

He has a powerful High-Sky Sovereign with a powerful stealth method. I hadn't sensed him at all till he launched the attack.

"There is no need to thank me. I did what I should do." He replied, and I nodded before sighing.

"It is a such regret that he was idiotic. He would have really been helpful, in getting out of here," I said with regret.

He was a Sky Sovereign after all; he was equal to hundreds of me.

The Sky Sovereign Mrenin didn't say anything and instead stored the body of the dead cultist before turning to me.

"You have information on these things?" he asked. I nodded and sent him the crystal; this one is special for the Sky Sovereigns from the organization. It had far more information than the information crystals I had given to the cultist.

He looked at the information, before turning to me, with a fear in his eyes.

"I had known a little about these things before, but now learning them, in such detail, is making me doubt whether we would be able to get out of here." He said with a mirthless smile appearing on his face.

"We have a chance; I had met a cultist earlier. Who said he had stopped Sky Sovereign Galna; there might be more Sky Sovereigns," I said hopeful, and he nodded.

He didn't seem surprised by that.

"There is one another Sky Sovereign and six Earth Sovereigns; two of them were ours, while the four cultists," he informed, sending me an information crystal.

I quickly inserted my soul sense and saw the images of two Sky Sovereigns and six Earth Sovereigns. Including the cultist, I have come across not long ago.

I hope he didn't kill them, and he likely didn't, because half-elf was also there, and he had marked him deceased.
