Morningstar Of Sin

Chapter 69 - The Farmhouse

I step out of the shower drying myself off with a sigh. I turn around to see a fully nude Hela washing out her hair. I smirk as I examine her body closely.

She must have felt my eyes on her because she gives me a side eye "Five hours of s.e.x and you still want more? Your reputation shows you short, you are actually a beast."

I smirk as I am putting on my pants "You are lucky we have bonding time to do or else we could go months."

Hela smirks as she turns off the water and covers herself with a towel "So what is this business you need to do?"

"I need to finish talking to the strong aliens living on earth. Just a Kryptonian and a green martian." I say as I hold my arm in the air, my suit jacket appears from nowhere as I grab it and put it on in one motion.

Seeing she is about to pick up her blade to suit up I toss her a magazine. "Here, pick a style from here and wear it. Your normal garb stands out too much among the humans."

Hela rolls her eyes as she picks up the magazine and her clothes turn to what the woman on the cover is wearing. A simple black summer dress rolls down from her shoulders covering her body as she drops the towel.

"You look beautiful, and don't carry the sword around," I say as I open the door.

Hela nods as the sword shrinks into a bracelet around her wrist. I smile as I watch her walk by into the bedroom that Monica is currently cleaning while listening to music. I nod to Monica as I put my hand on Hela's back and walk her into the living room.

I wave to Angela who came home from Hell an hour ago to come. "You are coming with us, you are here to observe me anyway."

Angela nods as she walks over and I pull her close. She gives me a glare but I only smile. "Let's go."

"So how are we getting the-" She is cut off by a quick change of scenery. We are now standing outside a farmhouse in rural Kansas. Outside the farmhouse is a jet black Mercedes AMG S65 and one of Legion's female bodies standing outside of it.

I nod to Legion as we walk past them to the farmhouse. "What could possibly be out here? Is this corn that Thor told me about. Why is it green?" Hela asks observing the cornfields.

I smile at her words "He was raised by humans." Angela and Hela nod as I knock on the door.

After a few seconds an older lady in her mid-sixties with brown hair that has streaks of grey in it. "Oh, hello, How can I help you?"

I smile as I hold up my business card "I'm Lucifer Morningstar of Morningstar Inc. I was here to talk about a partnership."

She looks confused as she opens the screen door for the girls and me "I'm Martha Kent, it's nice to meet you, Mr. Morningstar. You own the pharmacies right, come in, please."

I hold the door open for the girls and follow them in close behind. "You must have come since you smelled the pie." The lady says pulling a pie off the window cill placing it on the table.

I chuckle at her joke as she gestures for us to sit at the table. "I actually wanted to buy your farm but leave you and your husband as the operators. I feel it's better that you stay in charge since you know the farm better than anyone else. But I still want to hire some helpers for you as you will need help in the coming years."

She sighs as she leans against the table across from me "And what do you want out of it?"

"100% revenue and land rights, but I will pay both of you as administrators. Your salary will be 80,000 a year. EACH." I say with a small smile.

Her eyes widen "Mr. Morningstar. We only have 80 acres, our yield last year was only 500,000, with operation costs that's practically a loss for you."

I wave a hand "It's fine Mrs. Kent I believe it is a good investment for the future. I'll even let you pick your own crop rotations, I won't interfere."

"Let me get my husband." She walks to the kitchen and opens the back window "JONATHAN, GET IN HERE! WE GOT COMPANY!"

From the barn out back I hear a man's voice "ANOTHER SOLICITOR?"

"NO NOW GET YOUR B.U.T.T IN HERE!" She yells back. She turns around as she smiles at Angela and Hela. "Now how would you three like some apple crumble pie? I hope you aren't allergic to cinnamon.

Both the girls shake their heads "I've never had it before." Hela says.

"Same here." Says Angela.

Martha visibly gasps "What is the city doin to you girls? No wonder you're so skinny. Why don't you stay for dinner? I'll thicken you two right up."

I laugh a bit at the girls awkward smiles. Martha quickly hands out the pie with a scoop of ice cream on plates to us and makes one for herself but not one for her husband.

Angela takes a bite and her face lights up, Hela's does as well but it is less noticeable. "This is delicious," Angela says with wonder. Hela nods in agreement.

Martha smiles "Isn't it? Doesn't it just give you a hankerin' for so somethin salty though?"

Hela looks at me baffled and I smile swallowing some pie. "It does, your apple pie is amazing though."

She smiles lightly "Family secret."

The door to the back door opens "It isn't a family secret, it's just box pie with extra cinnamon and fresh sliced apples." An older man says walking in from the back door.

"Now why did you go and tell them that?" I laugh at the hurt in Marthas's voice as I stand up to greet the old man.

He reaches out first "I'm Jonathan Kent, nice to meetya."

"Lucifer Morningstar," I say with a soft smile.

"Like the Devil?" He asks concerned.

"Exactly."

He looks baffled "You parent's got somethin against ya?" He earns himself a smack from Martha but I just laugh.

"Yep, every single one," I say sitting down.

"So, whatcha here for?" He asks sitting next to Martha.

"I will be upfront. I want to buy your farm for 2 million, I will take 100% revenue and land rights, but I will be paying you both 80k a year. I'll also throw in some retirement benefits."

He looks more baffled than Martha did when I told her. "Son, this farm isn't more than 700,000 at most."

"I know, But I believe you and Martha's experience is. I plan to buy all the farms around this area as a start. I want you to be in charge of managing them, once you choose to retire you can hand it off to the employee you see most fit." I say leaving him looking skeptical.

Martha puts up her hands "Jonathan is too old to be managing farms like that."

"I am not. I got another 15 years' worth of work in me." Jonathan says patting his c.h.e.s.t hard.

Martha sighs as she rubs her temples. "Will we have healthcare. He will need it if he plans to work longer."

I smile "Only the best, along with supplemental health insurance."

"Martha, I don't need no damn doctors." He says as if they have had this conversation a thousand times before. Hela and Angela calmly eat their pie as they watch the show.

I slide over a contract "Here, you two can just look it over."

After picking up the contract I hear him mutter '25,000 per acre? That's nuts.'

I smile hearing they like the price. But my ears really perk up when I hear the sound of a sonic boom or something hurling towards up. My grin widens.
