Luna was startled as she couldn't understand what her husband's motive was. She opened her mouth to say something, but it failed her.

"What?" Hero Li raised a brow at her, seeing her conflicting emotions flashed on her eyes. His face hovered close to hers. "Wife, have you forgotten that you've given yourself to me?"

The dim-lit hallway gave him a menacing look, making Luna frightened.

"I…" she gathered her courage and glared back at him. "Mr. Li, I'm pretty sure you're also aware why I agreed to marry you," she said with defiance.

Hero stepped forward, forcing Luna to step back until she found herself pinned against the door. She g.r.o.a.n.e.d inwardly.

'Not again,' she thought.

Hero trapped her in a kabedon, refusing to release her.

"Miss Jiang should also remember her part of our deal. There's no turning back now." His eyes flashed mischievously. "If I said I'm starving and would like to eat meat, would you refuse me?"

Luna was stunned for a moment before her face turned beet red when she realized what he meant. She lowered her head and covered her face.

Ah, this shameless man! How could he ask her about it casually? Didn't he already know that what happened between them in the past was a mistake? She didn't intend to hand herself to him on a silver platter!

"That was a mistake! Please don't bring it up again!" she exclaimed.

"Oh? You still think it was a mistake? It brought you to me so how could it be a mistake?" Hero whispered closely in her ear, his warm breath making her heartbeat race.

"Mr. Li, why don't we set some rules here." Luna gritted her teeth, uncovered her flushed face and placed her trembling hands on her husband's c.h.e.s.t to force him to distance himself from her.

Hero chuckled and stepped back.

"I'm listening, wife," he said, listening carefully as to what Luna will say.

"First, please don't touch me without my permission!" It was already embarrassing on her side to lose her v.i.r.g.i.n.i.t.y to a stranger and got pregnant out of wedlock.

Hero nodded to himself. It should be easy for him. Anyway, as long as he could seduce her to climb willingly on his bed, he didn't mind at all.

"Second, if you have another woman. You better make sure you won't show her to me or bring her home."

Such a piece of cake! Hero thought. He wasn't planning to have an affair with another woman anyway. Why couldn't Luna understand that she alone was enough to satisfy his d.e.s.i.r.e?

Ah, Jasper Mo was really an idiot for choosing Aiko Chen over Luna Jiang. What's more, he was a coward for not telling Luna that he was about to marry that Aiko and would have to break up with her.

How foolish! Why would Jasper choose that conniving woman than Luna? However, that was fine with Hero. Jasper threw a treasure that landed willingly on his own hands. He wouldn't make the same mistake Jasper did.

"Fine, I give you my word. Don't worry about other women. This would be the least of your concern."

One woman was already enough to give him a headache anyway, and with the kind of daughter he had, Amber didn't accept anyone until she met Luna Jiang.

"Lastly, please don't disclose our marriage to the public unless it's necessary. Our marriage was too soon. I don't want people to start rumors and gossip about it."

Knowing it might be overheard by little Amber, Luna wanted her from the public's judgmental opinions over her marriage.

"Deal."

As soon as both parties agreed with the rules, Hero opened the room across Amber's room, lit the lights on, and let his wife in.

"This is your room. Unless you're ready to share your bed with me, you may stay here," he said nonchalantly, pleased at how Luna blushed on his words.

Luna forced herself to ignore Hero's teasing and looked around. The room itself was fully furnished. Although she was the daughter of a businessman, she was never pampered to this extent.

Her room was carpeted with white wool. She estimated that the room itself was over 80 square meters, which was larger than her previous apartment. There was a queen-size bed installed in the middle while a dresser… a wardrobe was placed on the right side of the room. The wardrobe has dresses and clothes in her size.

Luna gasped as she checked the tags and labels. These kinds of clothes… she'd never been able to afford it with her salary. She frequently saw Sienna wearing these designer brand clothes. It must cost Hero a fortune to purchase all of these.

On her left, a small living room and a door leading to the bathroom could be found. Aside from that, the room had a balcony where she could see the perfect scenery once the sun rises.

"If you find something lacking, you only need to tell me so I can arrange it," Hero told her as she threw herself over the soft bed. She rolled on her back and stared at the white ceiling above her.

"This is more than enough for me, Mr. Li," Luna replied. For someone who'd recently lost her home, this room was indeed more than what she could ask for. She closed her eyes, feeling exhausted from the long day she endured.

"Mr. Li? My dear wife, you better address me properly."

"Yes, milord. Please let this subject of yours rest."

Noticing the sadness on her voice, Hero sat at the edge of the bed and ran the back of his forefinger on her cheek. Luna stirred but didn't open her eyes. She was dead tired that she fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillows.

Hero leaned forward and was about to kiss her parted lips but stopped. Instead, he watched as her c.h.e.s.t heaved as she slept. His deep onyx eyes set on her face.

"Since you married me, I assure you'll never lack for something in the future. It's enough that you have me now. You wouldn't need to suffer in the future."
