Luna stopped on her tracks and turned around, only to find her husband looking at her. Jasper Mo and his stepmother also stopped and saw President Li striding towards them.

"President Li!" Madam Mo gasped.

Who in this banquet hall hadn't heard of Hero Li and his reputation? He was a ruthless businessman who knew when and how to cut his losses, getting the maximum advantage for his company.

"It's nothing. Nothing happened. Miss Jiang is about to leave. We're just sending her off." There was an awkward smile at the old woman's face as she tried to glare at Luna's way to move on and f.u.c.k off.

Even Jasper and Aiko were surprised to see the same man they both met back at the hotel. Jasper had met him earlier and found out that he was the President Li that his father was trying to convince and enter a business partnership with them.

Luna was stunned in her spot. Her tears were threatening to burst at any moment; yet seeing her husband standing straight with an annoyed but stern expression, she felt like a savior had come to rescue her.

If this wasn't Hero Li—her husband, then who else could it be?

What transpired earlier was something she was too embarrassed to let him see. She didn't want Hero to know what caused her to run away this early. Yet as every second passed that Hero stared at her, she… Luna felt like she was completely exposed to him.

"Luna? Are you crying?"

His voice was still cold and stern, but there was a subtle softness as he asked Luna. It was as if he was worried that she'd breakdown at any given moment.

Jasper Mo was stunned. He'd never thought that the infamous President Li was acquainted with Luna Jiang. How and when did Luna meet such a man?

However, Luna wasn't planning to stay longer. She gave Hero a helpless smile as she turned around to step inside the elevator, but she didn't expect Hero to stretch his hand and pull her back.

"You…" Luna couldn't understand what Hero wanted. Couldn't he see that she was humiliated enough? She didn't want to stay in this place anymore. Someone like her shouldn't be in this place anyway.

"I can sense your distress, wife." Hero turned his head down and whispered to her, his manner as if he was almost kissing her.

Although for outsiders it seemed as if it was only because President Li had used too much force, making the woman next to him crash into his c.h.e.s.t. However, Luna knew clearly that it wasn't the case.

"I… I don't feel good, President Li. I didn't want to cause trouble for Jasper's family so I was planning to go home this early…" Luna stuttered, and then in a low voice, she added, "Hubby, let's go home."

She knew that her husband would definitely spot her lie, but she also knew that he was the last person who'd dare to hurt her.

"Then, I'll send you back. It wouldn't be safe for you to go home with the kind of weather outside."

Hero raised her hand and placed it on his arm, preparing to walk into the elevator together.

At this time, Madam Mo realized how bad the situation was. She hadn't expected that this country bumpkin was familiar with President Li to this extent. She couldn't allow President Li to leave the banquet this early, or else the whole Mo family would lose its face.

She gritted her teeth and followed the two, extending an arm so the doors wouldn't close.

"President Li, it turned out that you and Miss Jiang seem to know each other? Miss Jiang is also a close friend of our Jasper here. Since both of you came to celebrate Jasper's party, how about we go in and eat something?"

How could she allow President Li to leave like this… and because of this Luna Jiang? She wanted Luna Jiang to leave but not at the expense of President Li leaving because of her, too.

Luna stared at the old woman in disbelief. Wasn't Madam Mo the one who couldn't wait to see her go?

Let her in and stay? Even if Hero was with her, she didn't want to stay anymore!

"You must be hungry, Miss Jiang. It's already time for dinner. Should we get something to eat before I send you home?" Hero ignored Madam Mo's request and asked the woman beside him instead. He didn't have any meaning of going back to the banquet.

In desperation, Madam Mo stepped inside the elevator, invading Luna's space. She pulled her free arm and tried to lead her back to the banquet hall, not noticing how Hero's face turned gloomy and frosty at the same time.

"Miss Jiang, if you don't feel good, you need to sit down and let me call a medic to help you. You don't need to leave with President Li. I'm sure he had yet to meet the other VIP guests tonight." She already decided that she wouldn't just let President Li leave like this even if she had to endure seeing Luna Jiang's face tonight.

Seeing that this old woman wouldn't let them go easily, Hero could only resort to torturing them.

"Then, if you don't mind, Madam Mo… I like to keep Miss Jiang's company tonight. We need to catch up since we haven't seen each other for a long time."
