it came as a shock.

my sister was feeling tired lately.

before, she was a bumbling ball of energy. she could bounce around the house 24/7 and 365 days in a year. honestly, she was annoying.

but i remembered that it was the middle of may, her favorite month, when she began getting bruises.

i would grab her hand, and the next day it would be purple.

we played mario, and she got a nosebleed after we saved princess peach.

it was when she fainted in the park that we took her to the hospital.

first, one test was done. then another. then another until the faces' of the doctors and nurses changed. furrowed brows and shaking heads. i clenched my fist. my sister grabbed my hand.

"are you scared, brother?" her eyes were filled with unshed tears, yet she grabbed my hand tightly. "don't be scared, brother. i'm here." she squeezed, even though she would have a bruise afterwards.

the doctors came back to take another blood sample.

i wanted to pummel them.

nobody would tell us what was wrong.

please, let nothing be wrong. @@
