My Brother Pulled Me Into Another World

Chapter 47 - Slime Boss Appears

'Oh! A new skill! But wait I need to release this one first.' Fuji quickly dispersed the thought. Celebrating right now is not a good idea. It would best to blast these off then celebrate. 'Blast off these slimes' Fuji repeated this thought. The gathering of slimes should be enough to defeat them. Fuji inhaled through his nose and then from his diaphragm he tried to expel the light like a sneeze making his head bob unconsciously then directed the beam of light to throw it using his mouth. He treated the beam of power like an item and hurled it towards the slime. It's his first time gathering this power. He just learned by observing the familiar Pyun-Pyun and his master.

Ryuji heard the chime <Familiar Fuji has learned i<Aether Absorption>> a familiar chime was heard. Then the same notification came again after a few seconds.< Familiar Fuji has learned <Thunderbeam>>

As the ray of light was thrown by the wolf to the gathering slimes, the deep blue slimes got scared of white beam underneath the electric currents. The deep blue slimes have a darkness attribute that's why they have a dark hue. Slimes are immediately affected by what they hold, what they eat and their surroundings that affect them. They will eventually learn affinity when being affected by the more dominant attribute. The green slimes are actually acid slimes due to corrosive nature that accumulated from slimes. The yellow slimes are more attributed to the weather. They control the fog, but their main means of offense is thunder.

Of course, Ryuji does not know these exact details, but he was observing the actions of the colored slimes. Games and mangas he read in his previous life, there was something that was bound to be corrosive. He guessed these are the case for the green slimes. He only ȧssociated the details with yellow slime with electricity. Though he was wrong, it was correct that their thunder attack was something to be very wary of. The deep blue slimes, he has no idea about how they attack but judging that they came from the murky water and afraid of the <Thunderbeam> which was probably something with the water attribute. He might be wrong again but the attack itself is quite effective but not the reason that Ryuji was thinking off.

The beam engulfed the area with a blinding light. This prompted Ryuji that he should have some goggles handy soon. He wished that there was a town somewhere nearby or so. But this flight of ideas should be reserved for later. He should deal with this trouble first and the loli goddess' request. Honestly, this is why he does not like quests even in games. Aside from unreasonable lines, it is always the impossible tasks that are requested by gods. If he were one, he would refrain from asking these kinds of tasks. The only upside for Ryuji is the experience and being able to apply magic through combat.

It took about two minutes before the blinding light disappeared and their sight returned to normal. After the blinding light, it revealed scattered slimes which were cowering from the light. The deep blue ones, the green and even yellow slimes, all of them cowering from the light emitted by the <Thunderbeam> attack. The green and blue slimes shivered as anyone could see in their streamlined jell as if they have hairs and getting actual goosebumps. The yellow ones were showing some fear as well despite them having the thunder attribute.

Pyun-Pyun quickly acted and collected some nucleus drops that were scattered. Less than half of the slimes are missing.

Fuji felt extreme exhaustion. He lied down with his belly flat on the ground. He could bȧrėly feel his legs and could only move his head. He still has power to be conscious, but he has no energy to stand at all. Seeing this, Raiji quickly went over to his side. He could not speak of what transpired. He was shocked by what his brother had done.

Ryuji sighed and went over to Fuji. He had mixed feelings. He needed to teach these guys about control but on the flip side, he could sense the mana build up that he noticed last night was gone. He asked the younger wolf. "Are you able to stand?"

"No, master." Fuji was ashamed. He knew that it went out of hand. He let out a small whimper of regret.

"Well, to be honest I brought you here to watch and observe how me and Pyun-Pyun fight." Ryuji solemnly said. He was testing the wolves at first, they just signed the familiar 'contract' this morning. He would not use this encounter to ȧssess their abilities but rather let them observe how he and Pyun-Pyun do things during hunts. Technically, this is not a hunt, but he was reminded by Yubis this morning about Vreta's request and it would be better to finish it. He is avoiding some goddess's wrath.

"Master, will my brother be ok?" Raiji is panicking. He felt helpless to see his brother collapse and every time he sees this view it breaks his heart. He did not know what to do. He was handed some herbs from a canopic jar with a jackal head.

"He just needs some rest. He overdid it." Ryuji quickly ȧssessed Fuji's state. He got reminded when he first tried magic. Good thing that there was a new skill that was gained from this situation. He would utilize Fuji as a ranged attacker in hunts given that he can control the output of this new skill and his mana.

"What do you mean, master?" Raiji was still worried. He teamed up with this goblin for survival and doubted it at first when he saw his brother collapse. His emotions are quite unstable at this point. He wanted to be mad, but he can't do that because they are now familiars of this goblin. He felt stifled but his master did not order anything from them earlier. This made him realize that he might have defied their master in some way.

"I'll explain when we get back." Ryuji calmly stated. After the slimes were scattered, he started to feel an ominous aura coming from the pond. "Stay here and protect your brother." He finally ordered Raiji. He gave a pat on the head of the younger wolf.

"Yes master!" Raiji immediately responded. He sat up straight as if he saluted.

"A-Are you mad, master?" Fuji asked. He did not hear any commands from their goblin master except when talking to Pyun-Pyun, their master's first familiar. They don't know how to be familiars to be honest. He could only remember what the elder wolves were saying from their previous wolf pack. It's shameful because you cannot do anything without a master's command. This made him think that he defied his master.

"A little bit…" Ryuji paused then continued "…because that was reckless." Then he gave a sincere smile. Though the smile he gave out made the two wolves shiver a little bit because it was a terrifying smile. Ryuji then added "Besides, that guy over there is way angrier."

The pond exploded like a geyser as murky water suddenly poured from the sky. Pyun-Pyun immediately retreated to Ryuji's side and handed him a weapon. "Pyun, stay with Raiji and Fuji. Cast a bigger <earth wall> around Fuji."

The light blue slime immediately complied and moved quickly around to do what his master just commanded.

Ryuji pulled out the <Sword of Tartarus> and quickly changed it into a bow. 'this must be the boss slime' he thought. Who knew that a slime could be this menacing? He could feel some power within the aura. It's something ominous and if a normal person would witness it, they can say it's evil. .

The water kept gushing like it was a fountain but the color of the water that is flowing out gets darker like ink. A deep red slime appears on top of the fountain of water. It exudes an aura of menace and fear. This slimes hue was deep red that at the center of it looked like black while the shade on the edges looked like blood. Then the water starts to descend carrying the deep red slime to the area where the <thunderbeam> devastated a few minutes ago.

The scattered slimes are still scared and moved away from the area except for the deep blue slimes who are starting to come out of the water and follow the deep red one. The black murky water swirled until the slime touched the ground a few feet away in front of Ryuji and his company. The deep blue slimes followed like gangster lackies. It looked weird but at the same time cute. Imagining slimes have turf wars and this red slime is like the big boss of slimes.

The wolves were getting another round of goosebumps as they saw the malevolent red creature. Slimes were usually weak, but the deep red slime was giving vibes as if they were facing a dragon instead. Horrifying, powerful and it reeks of death. Fuji was judging his <thunderbeam> skill won't be enough to defeat this. Realizing this he whimpered because of his weakness.

"How dare you intrude on my domain!?"
