My Brother Pulled Me Into Another World

Chapter 7 - Is the Divine Realm a Corporation?

"A heart-attack!" Ryuji could not suppress his laughter. He knew him being overworked will cause his death one day. Ironically, he wanted to follow his brother to attempt suicide a month after his death but somehow, he was never been able to execute his plan.

"Oh. I hope my boss this time attends my funeral." Ryuji joked. His previous director and supervisor did not even appear during his brother's funeral.

"Indeed, they did. The president and the board members even attended your funeral!" Michizune said it matter of factly.

"W-w-whaat???" Ryuji eyes almost popped out in disbelief. The president was a kind man, aside

from his business prowess, he also advocates a good corporate environment. Michizune just nodded.

"They almost named your company's charity foundation after you!" Michizune was revealing what was happening back on earth.

"They did?!" Ryuji was shocked. He isn't someone important to place an emphasis on his death. He was just a normal salary worker. He is not a saint

"Yup, but the approval did not go through. They did settle an annual company event under your name instead." Michizune grinned.

"How did you know? Didn't I just die a while ago?" Ryuji asked. He was confused.

"The time flows differently here. We in the divine realm have no concept of time here, like no concept of place as well. Depending on how you brought here, the time can be slower or faster. In some cases, time in the worlds stop depending how you were brought here. It also applies to the soul plane or you call it

underworld. Since you died, the time is a bit faster from your original world." Michizune explained with ease. "It's good that you died. In most cases time here is limited, but yours is a special case, so here we are." Michizune gave a smug to the middle-aged man.

Ryuji is not a religious person, but he knew the concept of heaven, hell or underworld. Divine realm is probably heaven in this case. "Why am I not in the underworld or hell? This is probably heaven." He curiously asked about the white bright space.

"Right and wrong. There is no heaven or hell but there are realms per supreme jurisdiction. We just have spaces. No fixed location on this but the white space is a reception area. The brown space is the soul plane. Punishment takes place on the repentance space. In between spaces is the gold area which binds the whole realm. Think of it as systems within universe. Everything constantly moves." Michizune scholastically explained the divine realm in a gist.

"Since this is a reception area, are we waiting for something?" Ryuji is quite quick to pick up Michizune's explanations.

"Indeed, you are an interesting character, Ryuji-kun." Bishamonten broke his silence and gave a smirk. This man is no longer stoic with his emotions. "Yes, we are waiting for the gods who will pick you up."

"Pick me up? Is this an express delivery to another world?" Ryuji jested but he was actually interested about why he will be picked up. He wanted to probe on the matter to satisfy his curiosity. Is this the chance of getting a protagonist role in defeating the demon lord or an evil monster who wanted to destroy everything? Ryuji's imagination was running a bit wild. He gazed expectantly to Bishamonten.

Bishamonten chuckled at the daydreaming of the middle- aged man in front of him. "No Ryuji-kun. Think of it as like migrating to another country, but instead of country it's on a planetary scale. Here they are."

As if on cue, an elevator appeared from the spotless floor. "Sorry Bisha-san, we had to go to the receptionist downstairs, Tisha-chan forgot her identification pass in Zariya." A man with a head of jackal appeared as the door opened. He was wearing a hoodie and jeans and anime printed shirt. His built was leaner than Bishamonten. Beside him is a woman in a dark grey executive suit which looks like a powerful corporate woman. She has an eye-catching rack which can be seen with her voluptuous figure. She has a white hair which tied into a bun and a pale skin to contrast her dark grey outfit.

"I'm sorry, it's my first time on the earth side of the divine realm." The woman apologized profusely. She gave a bow as a respect to Michizune and Bishamonten.

Michizune's jaw dropped. He had seen such goddesses but not as fair and striking as this one. While Bishamonten gave a small smile and bowed to the newly arrived beings. He had to force Michizune to bow which caused the latter to snap back to reality from his surprised expression.

Ryuji stood on the sidelines and watched the exchange. These are most likely gods since Bishamonten is familiar with them. He made no sound as he was gauging how to interact with the newly arrived gods. He is being bothered right now about the receptionist thing. How does someone get work with the divine realm?

"Yubis-senpai we didn't wait that long." Bishamonten politely declined. "You are just in time."

"The necessary doc.u.ments did take that long. Ticia-chan panicked when we got the memo so she forgot her identification." The jackal called Yubis scratched his head in embarrassment. Lady Morticia had a red hue on her face which made her adorable, more like a bashful corporate woman.

Ryuji was again listening on the sidelines but the more that he listened, the more his views are getting screwed by the minute. First is the new gods seemed to be from another domain and they wear modern clothes. Who wears jeans and a hoodie to meet the great Bishamonten! But then again, Bishamonten seemed cool with it. Next is, memo? Doc.u.ments? Does heaven operate on doc.u.ments? Is Heaven some kind of corporation? Ryuji train of thought seemed to hit a derailment with this concept.

"Oh, by the way. This is Tisha-chan, more known as Morticia, the Goddess of Death of Zariya. She is in training to become the 5th god for these special transfers." The jackal god introduced.

"Hello, I am Morticia, the Goddess of death. I will be in your care." Morticia bowed gracefully.

"Pleased to meet you Lady Morticia. I am Bishamonten of Shichifukujin and this is Sugawara no Michizune, Deity of Literature." Bishamonten gave a polite smile. "He will be a permanent figure from now on with these special transfers."

Michizune is dazed by the goddess of death. Her pale frosty beauty is ethereal. "Pleased to meet you L-la-lady Morticia, you call me M-mi-michi from now on." The scholar was bashful as he stuttered with his words.

Morticia gave a small giggle. Such beauty would really stun anyone beside Bishamonten with his stoic expression. Michizune grinned like an idiot. His face was redder than a ripe tomato. This profound scholar is noble and dignified but becomes uberly shy with a goddess in an executive outfit.

"By the way Bisha-san, Sefie-chan has a shopping list, can you get this while we waiting for the transfer?" Yubis asked.

"You can count on me Yubis-senpai. Send the file to me and we'll pull out manpower, I can ask the Peter-san apostles for some saints familiar with Tokyo." Bishamonten was very polite.

"Thank you. I'll have some exquisite spears and staff sent over through the book cafe.

You can add them to your collection in exchange for your trouble." Yubis scratched his head and gave an embarrassed grin. Bishamonten liked weapons and is an avid collector. Between the worlds if he has the means, he would like to get his hands on special weapons.

Ryuji was stupefied with this exchange. Shopping list? Apostles? Saints in Tokyo? Book cafe? What the hell is this? Now he starts to doubt if he was really in a dream or he just really died. Aren't this like forces of good versus forces of evil type of thing? This is like a normal meeting of friends or colleagues in the company. Even if he was not interested in joining, such meetings like this are just too plain. Definitely they are gods, who the hell see Bishamonten in real person in their existence? Now there is a man who has a jackal head that seemed too real for a cosplay event and a bit familiar. Did he get some chuuni disease before he died? He is an atheist, but he adamantly doubts the regular world view right now.

"Oh, this must be Ryuji-kun!!" Yubis finally looked at Ryuji's confounded look. He was excited to meet the beloved brother of his best friend.

"Ah yes. Ryuji, this is Yubis-senpai, god of knowledge in Zariya. Senpai was formerly known as Anubis, gatekeeper of the underworld during the dawn of Egyptian civilization." Bishamonten politely introduced the poor Ryuji that currently wrestling with his world view at the moment. When Ryuji heard that he was Anubis, his jaw dropped. This god was a god of ancient Egypt? He felt a small mushroom cloud explode above his head and feel like fainting at that moment.

"N-nice to meet you Yubis-sama." Ryuji forced himself to be composed but clearly, he knows he is already crumbling at the moment. That feeling of helplessness to comprehend what the hell is going on is overwhelmingly high. He wanted to black out at the moment and wake up.
