26. Hurry Up and Apologize

Translator: Flora

Chen Ming leaned against the window platform of the breakfast shop, “A bowl of salted bean pudding.”

“Want some chili powder?”

“No.” He passed money.

When it was ready, the shop owner asked again, “A little chili powder will make it more delicious.”

Chen Ming saw

him pinched a handful of chili powder and hurriedly

refused, “No! No! Not

a bit!” He hurriedly took the

bean pudding, lest the cook should

add some chili.

To be

honest, Chen Ming’s master had regarded him as an easy-to-raise child since he was little.

He ate whatever he was given, except spicy food. Carrying this

bowl of bean pudding without chili, Chen

Ming felt his life was saved.

“Alas, since you survived a great disaster, you are destined to have good fortune forever after

.” He said to the bean pudding, “Congratulations on your qualification to enter my stomach.”

After today’s first meal, Chen Ming swaggered back to the hotel. The receptionist smiled and greeted him. He took the opportunity and showed her the phone with a map, “May I ask you something? Is this a nice place to visit?”

Right in the center of the screen was the mountain where the poppies were.

She observed for a while, then stopped smiling and said awkwardly, “You can’t go there. There are ancestral graves of the nearby village. They are very hostile to outsiders, especially recently.”

“Alas?” Chen Ming pretended to be surprised and then casually asked, “The ancestral graves? Were outsiders not allowed in long ago?”

“That’s not true. My grandma came from that village. People could go there when she was alive. I don’t know what happened now.”

There were no poppies then, but now it changed.

It seemed that the ancestral graves were real.

Chen Ming got what he wanted, thanked her, and put his phone in the pocket.

When he returned, he saw Zhou Nan standing in the corner of the room. But Zhou Nan looked away before their eyes met. He took off his shoes and began collecting his things.

Zhou Nan realized he had been deliberately ignored, but he did not believe Chen Ming could do this all the time. Then he kept on staring at Chen Ming. But he underestimated Chen Ming’s patience. It seemed as if Chen Ming lost

his ability to see ghosts.

Chen Ming was already not mad anymore, but was waiting for Zhou Nan to talk to him first.

Zhou Nan saw Chen Ming’s sullen face and knew it would be his one-man show. He was waiting for Chen Ming to speak first too.

The two of them have a pretty tacit understanding, which was no good.

Zhou Nan couldn’t wait anymore. He slowly moved to the window, pretending to leave, and observed the reaction of Chen Ming out of the corner of his eye.

Chen Ming’s heart pounded but he tried to restrain himself. He didn’t believe Zhou Nan dared to run in front of him.

When seeing that Chen Ming had no reaction, Zhou Nan gritted his teeth and floated away.

“Shit? Is it such a big deal?” Chen Ming was shocked, “Is he really mad?” He ran to the window, leaned over the glass, and looked out. He didn’t see Zhou Nan.

Bai Yiyi had done similar things, and Chen Ming didn’t bother to go after her. He just called her directly. A few times, he was too stubborn to apologize. Then, after he was scolded and blacklisted many times, he finally learned to apologize for everything.

A great man knows when to yield and when not.

But Chen Ming did not expect that he would meet a similarly annoying guy now. He couldn’t even catch up with Zhou Nan because he didn’t have a phone.

“It’s not like you don’t know my temperament…” He suffered the bitter grievances and kept circling, “Alas, it’s not that I don’t want to reconcile. I don’t know where you are.”

“Well, I knew you couldn’t part with me.”

Chen Ming was taken aback and raised his head, only to see Zhou Nan hanging upside down above the window like a gecko, showing half of his head. One could barely see him if he drew back a bit.

“Go ahead, I’m listening.” Zhou Nan wasn’t going to run. It was just a trick. He deliberately hid in the corner and waited for Chen Ming to pour out his heart.

Chen Ming looked at Zhou Nan’s smug face as he was fooled.

“Hurry up and apologize! I’m looking forward to it!” Zhou Nan grinned and urged.

Chen Ming couldn’t help smiling and cursed, “Screw you.”
