"Come on, Yurica. It's not poisoned. I didn't even put any medicine in it. Eat."

Staring at Anton with a raised corner of his mouth, I mouthed my favorite fried hollowbird. Still, for once, I tried to eat with caution, but it didn't taste strange and relieved me.

If this serves weird pills or something again, I'm traumatized and can't eat my favorite fried chicken. I just don't like that.

"You finished your meal. Good, 'cause you weren't eating at all."

"That sounds weird. Anton was busy working over there, and we never had a chance to eat face-to-face."

"Right. I apologize for that. Sorry."

You didn't give a shit about me before. And, to put it, Anton looked like that at first. I've been apologizing, but are you serious? I couldn't really trust Anton.

Enough to kick Anna out of the mansion in such a way that she was being gracious. Isn't he willing to use me for something, too? And all I could get was suspicious hearts.

"I don't want to apologize. It's no use apologizing."

"Yurica."

"It was a treat. Deep-fried Hollowbirds were delicious."

When I got up from my seat, Anton pulled back. I did, but I didn't know what he was thinking. I don't even want to know. I'm already someone else in red, and what he's doing to me is kidnapping and imprisonment. It is not a praised action.

I left the dining room only to thank them for the meal they had prepared.

Going out into the hallway, Meal followed me. Returning to the room addressed to me, Meal bowed his head.

"I'm sorry. Yurika."

"What's wrong all of a sudden?

"Even though I didn't know, I was rude to you."

"Stop it. I can't take him for an apology now."

"I know. I don't want that. I'm just reflecting on how rude you are to Yurika."

I thought Meal had asked me to take it on Anton to protect him, but he didn't.

"Your husband knows about this. I told you."

"So?"

"My husband risked his life to protect his wife."

……

Is that why you tried her on the poison screen earlier? I think I got a glimpse of Anton's bruises.

"I'm not stupid."

"Yurika."

If I looked back at the meal with her face up, she was decent.

"It's not a time of war, and now, hey, loyalty isn't popular. Are you, Anton, gripped by any weakness? I don't ask you that much. Don't worry. You can run if you want."

"Yurika, that's funny."

"Really? You're too hard to think. It's over now, so don't worry about it. If I was in a situation like that, I might have acted like you."

"Thank you. Mama."

He said it wasn't your wife.

Meal was about to cry and laugh.
