My League Of Villains

Chapter 17 - Consequences... not?

It was utter pandemonium. Of course, an hospital is always busy and chaotic, it's inevitable, but this time it was way beyond acceptable. The incident in Hosu caused so many victims,it was impossible for the facilities there to handle all the injured people, so all the clinics and hospitals in the capital area were taking a part of the burden. But this was still a manageable emergency. What complicated everything were the the police officers and PSIA agents bustling everywhere in a frenzy. Normally the director would have already stepped in and imposed order, but he couldn't, since they were actually doing him a favour. One of his patients disappeared, and it was his fault. If someone discovered that not only Midoriya Izuku disappeared, but that there weren't even anyone guarding, he could say goodbye to his job. He was probably risking prison too. The director was panicking like never before. This all happened because he wanted to give preferential treatment to the U.A. student. It wasn't even hard to convince the agents in charge of him. A few sweet swords and they complied. Yes, it was actually their fault, not his. Why did he have to take the blame? Also, where did that brat have to go? Just be a good kid and stay in bad, damn! A sudden thought hit him: what if he was kidnapped? Cold sweat ran down his forehead.

[How long do these idiots need to find me? I'm bleeding to death here…]

Midoriya was laying in a small puddle of blood coming from his head. His plan was simple: return home, take a shower, change into hospital clothes, delete the CCTV footage of the last few hours, go into a bathroom and smash his head on a sink to pretend that he had an incident and that he was unconscious the whole time. Simple, stupid, but probably effective. If they found him. After he hit his head, he laid, passed out, on the floor for a while and nobody found him. Maybe the plan was a mistake. He tried to feebly get up, only to faint again.

"Director, we finally found him! He was bleeding on a bathroom floor but he's getting treated right now! It's all good!"

He sighed in relief. He was safe. Then, he frowned.

"We already checked all the bathrooms, why did we find him now?"

The police officer and the director looked at each other. The officer tormented his collar.

"He was… in a female bathroom."

"Are you kidding me? You incompetent swines! Did you really only check the male bathrooms? The patient had a head injury! What if he died? Get out!"

The director's face was red. The officer tried to explain himself while avoiding the raging spit.

"But, director, we assumed that…"

"GET OUT! THANK THE FACT THAT IT WAS MY FAULT IN THE FIRST PLACE, OR YOU WOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN JOBLESS! GET OUT!"

Midoriya opened his eyes. He was resting on an hospital bed, all his injuries taken care of. Beside him, there was a familiar man. Murakami, his supervisor. He was calm and collected as usual. He immediately noticed when he woke up.

"Good job, Izuku." Midoriya's mouth dried up. Murakami's gaze was sharper than a knife. "There's no need for you to talk. Stain, the Hero Killer, was successfully apprehended. You had your revenge and justice was upheld. I don't know what you did. I just know you did something. For a beginner, that's already good enough." Murakami smiled at the confused boy. He was nurturing a truly good agent. He had good acting skills too. "Deleting the CCTV footage was a mistake. Something you shouldn't have done without replacing them. I guess you didn't have time. Anyway, I took care of that for you." Midoriya wanted to say something, but he was stopped by a gesture of the man. "You see, I'm curious. This operation of yours… is strange. You obviously didn't have time to go there and return, so, someone else was on the field and you gave the orders. A villain, probably. I have nothing against this, but the thing is… that place is a mess. There will be an investigation. I can't protect you. But I will give you an advice: clean after yourself." Murakami tapped on the chair. Finally, Midoriya was able to talk again.

"I had nothing to do with Hosu."

As he realized his mistake, his supervisor smiled like a shark.

"Boy, how do you know about Hosu? You should be more careful, get your story straight. But of course, the culprit is the League of Villains, we know that. Stain was one of them, apparently. Everyone thinks it was an attack. I don't think so. I think they were fighting each other, but why? Who caused the infighting? It's only my theory but, I think someone from the inside, put Shigaraki against him." He showed him his phone. There was a picture of Shigaraki and Kurogiri standing on the roof, watching the mayhem. "It doesn't seem like teamwork to me."

Murakami put down his phone, turning serious for a moment, "What you did was impulsive, stupid, dangerous and illegal, but it worked. That's why I helped you. That's what we do, after all. Others would tell you about justice, about how even the PSIA has rules, and more nonsense like that. I won't. You won't receive any reward or credit, of course." He had a chuckle. "Do you want to hear something funny? U.A. had the same problem. The number two, Endeavour, took the credit, but… it was actually two students who took Stain down. Todoroki and Ida. To avoid repercussions, they chose to shelter them and cover this up. Luckily for us, we can put you too under Endeavour's umbrella." He stood up and ruffled his hair. "Good job." he said, while walking away.

Midoriya felt like a heavy burden was lifted from his shoulders. His plan wasn't perfect but he had succeeded anyway. Everything he was worried about was taken care of by someone way more skilled than and the whole Stain investigation will be too much of a mess to care about him. He just had to be confused and vague for a few weeks and then, the end. There was always the possibility of Stain selling him out, but he doubted that. The man was delusional and crazy, but in a strange way he trusted him. He wondered if the Hero Killer thought he would walk in his footsteps and be his successor. However, that wasn't his problem. If he were to do something that dangerous again, it would be at his own terms. For the time being he had to stay put. Let the waters calm down. It still wasn't his time. What he needed was information. Information about the League of Villain, the U.A. and the Heroes. But most of all, about All Might. He didn't forget about that proposal. All Might passed his quirk to someone. He needed to find out who that someone was and force the quirk out of him, somehow. Until then, he had to make do with what he already had. No, he probably had to make a few changes. There were a few interesting ideas in the ARPs, but he needed materials, knowledge and a safe place where to work and hide. The first thing he had to do was to build his own personal workshop. The second was finding Stain's lair again… and rob him.
