My Life In Blue Exorcist

I open my eyes and see myself inside an empty, white room. There absolutely nothing inside as the room slowly morphs into something else. Something foreign yet familiar to me.

My vision suddenly goes black as I can't see and neither are my other 4 senses are working. I try to scream but I can't tell if I lost the ability to speak or I'm just deaf.

When I got my vision back I'm greeted with a man with short grey hair and a goatee made of stubble just smiling at me warmly. Once again the foreign yet familiar feeling is back as I look at the man with a questioning gaze.

Behind him i could see something blue was coming towards him. It didn't have a specific form, but gives off the impression of snakes as it coils around the man's body.

I try to warn him buts it's too late. The blue snakes are tangling around him. He notices my worries but just smiles as he moves his lips

(Man): "Take care."

Before suddenly being surrounded in flames, but not once does his smile ever leave his face. Even when he's burnt to a crisp his face stays the same and there was a hint of relief in his eyes.

Why? Why again?

(???): "See I told you! You're a f.u.c.k.i.n.g Demon! I never should've listened to my parents! I should've f.u.c.k.i.n.g aborted you!"

I look in front of me and see a lady standing there, with brown hair, brown eyes and healthy white skin. But what shocked me the most was who she was.

Why? Why are you here? I thought I f.u.c.k.i.n.g left that place already!

Is this a f.u.c.k.i.n.g dream?! A f.u.c.k.i.n.g nightmare?!

As soon as I started questioning what kind of reality this is, the woman in front of me started to morph into something else and I was back inside that same white room before waking up.

(Rin): "Haaaah haaah haaah."

I take short and shallow breaths of air as I wake up from my dream. Shit, what was that?! Why am I getting memorise of 'her' all of a sudden.

My entire body is covered in sweat, even my hair and my face, and my heart is beating loudly as I can hear it as clear as day.

Calm down. Calm down.

I repeated those words like a mantra and I was able to calm down. F.u.c.k me, what was that?

When I turn my head to the left I see Yukio's bed is empty. What time is it?

When I look at my phone I see it's half past 4 in the morning. Seriously what's that guy up to. He came back late last night, so something must've happened.

Since I'm covered in sweat I stood up and burn all the sweat off me using my flames. I'm getting better control on what I want to burn and I can even burn away my morning breath.

I was gonna burn the sweat off the bed but that's when I noticed something. On my bed is a kid that looks like he's 6-7 years old with black hair and is n.a.k.e.d! What the f.u.c.k is going on?

(Rin): "Oi, wake up."

I poked at the kids cheek as I try nudging him awake. Come on, you're sleeping in a stranger's room, n.a.k.e.d, and still sleep with a peaceful expression like that!

(Rin): "Wake up!"

I'm nearing the ends of my patients. Seriously what kind bullshit scene is this! I know this is an anime world but isn't it suppose to be a girl instead of a boy! Wait, Rin, stop. You sound like a lolicon if you say that.

(Boy): "Mornniiing Riin"

The boy sleepily greets me as he looks like he's about to go back to sleep. Hey, don't go back to sleep! And how do you know my name!

(Rin): "Oh no you don't. Wake up! And who are you?!"

The boy finally wakes up and looks at me with a questioning look. Why the f.u.c.k are you confused? I should be more confused than you!

(Kuro): "Its me Kuro! Your familiar, remember?"

Huh...? Wait… my brain's taking time to process this...

(Rin): "So your telling me that your the same cat that I made a contract with yesterday."

(Kuro): "How rude! I'm a cat-sidhe not just a regular cat!"

(Rin): "Same thing! Who cares!"

Honestly, I'm still a bit on edge after waking up and now I have to deal with this bs in the morning.

(Midori): "Do you guys mind? Some of us are still trying to sleep here!"

We heard Midori's voice at the bottom of the bed, still trying to sleep even after what's happening in the room.

(Rin): "So hey, Kuro, what happened to you? And why do you have a human form now?"

(Kuro): "Wait what!"

Kuro finally finds out what I'm about as he becomes just as confused as I am.

(Midori): "Come on, You two!"

Midori wakes up as he gives us a glare before noticing Kuro in his peculiar state.

(Yukio): "I heard noise. What happened?"

Yukio also joins us, as we all are surprised by Kuro's sudden transformation.

(Rin): "Was it because of the contract?"

That's the only explanation that I could come up with but even then this is ridiculous.

(Yukio): "That might be the case, but even then I've never seen a demon gain the power to turn human after making a servant pact."

(Rin): "Huh? Servant pact?"

What's this new term? And why have I not heard of it before?

(Yukio): "Well I've heard it from Mephisto that when a Demon becomes the familiar of a stronger demon, they gain special abilities.The normal tamers we have are only able to summon their familiars whereas you're able to communicate with them and are able to give them new abilities. The downside though is that you need to replenish their energy by giving them some of your demon energy."

Oi, this sounds too convenient for you to just hear. What else did you hear that seems convenient?I wonder if Yukio is already in cahoots with Mephisto. Wait is this why Amaimon's Goblin is yellow and can change its size? That would make sense since Midori is blue-ish green, but why didn't Kuro's colour change? I guess it's so he can have a humanoid form.

(Rin): "Anyway, Kuro, can you go back to your normal form?"

I find it interesting to see one of his new skills is transforming but I'm not in the right mindset to carry on investigating.

I really wanna take a long bath.

(Kuro): "Umm... I don't know how to."

(Rin): "Figures. Here."

I had a feeling that would be the case so I got one of my shirts for him to wear. Afterall I don't conveniently have kid sized clothes for him. Would be crazy if they suddenly appeared out of nowhere.

Damn, guess he doesn't always appear when you want him to.

(Rin): "Haaah, what's been going on recently. Well, since we're all awake let's take a bath. I'm tired and my head's pounding."

(Kuro): "Noooo!"

As soon as I mentioned Kuro taking a bath he started to overreact and tried to run away, but before he could do that he stumbles on the floor and hit face first.

(Rin): "You okay? What happened?"

(Kuro): "Umm... My legs feel weird. How do you guys walk like this."

I picked up Kuro and realised that he's not used to walking like a human. Man he's like a baby, huh.

(Rin): "We don't know how long you'll be in this form, so let's take it slow and teach you how to walk. Here, hold my hands. I'll help."

Kuro grabs my hands as he stumbly walks towards me. I get a better chance to look at him and i realise he's a cute looking kid with messy hair that makes it look like he has cat ears, but he still has normal ears that a regular human would have. He doesn't seem to have any claws but he has two black tail behind him and small pointy fangs.

(Rin): "You think you're able to walk on your own now?"

(Kuro): "I think so."

Kuro says that as he face plants the floor again. Haaaah this is gonna take a while.

(Rin): "Hey Yukio, do you mind if you can buy some kids clothes for Kuro? I have a feeling that this is gonna last for a while."

(Yukio): "Sure, no problem."

Yukio notices my tired look as he complies to what I asked. Thanks Yukio.

(Rin): "I'm taking a bath. You coming Midori?"

(Midori): "Sure!"

(Kuro): "Noooo!"

Midori agrees to me but Kuro has a strong dislike for taking a bath for some reason. Haaah, i hate this anime world.

(Rin): "Listen here. House rules for my familiars: We take a bath at least once a day, we train in the morning and in the evening and we all have breakfast, lunch and dinner together. Is that understood?"

Before Kuro can say anything I picked him up and we went our way to the bathroom

(Kuro): "Hey! let go of me!"

(Rin): "Nope. If your gonna be my familiar, your gonna follow the rules! Now shut up and let me wash your hair!"

We went to the bathroom, where we undressed and cleaned ourselves before entering the bathtub.

Kuro was reluctant to enter the bath tub but still joined.

(Rin): "See? It's not that bad now is it?"

I heard that Domestic Cats don't like water because they get too cold, but Kuro right now is a humanoid so that shouldn't be the case anymore.

(Kuro): "Yeah it's better than I thought it would be."

(Rin): "So why do you hate the water so much? It can't just be that your a Cat-Sidhe."

(Kuro): "Umm... When I was still the Deity of the Shrine, I would sneak out and play with the local children. One of the children played a prank on me and poured cold water over me, which scared me and made me really cold. When I got back to the shrine, I collapsed and got a fever that lasted a few weeks. Since then I've never snuck out of the shrine and stayed far, far away from water."

I never knew Kuro had such a rough time like that.

(Rin): "I'm sorry for forcing you to take a bath, but unlike when you're a cat, a human can't just lick the sweat and dirt off from their body. You need to learn to take care of your body like a normal human does."

I rubbed his head when I said that. Man, this guy is like a little kid.

We had a little chat while we were taking the bath. When I felt the water was cooling down a lot I used my flames to heat it back up. I'm getting better with controlling the heat now. But the first time I've done it, I made the water evaporate.

(Kuro): "Pretty~!"

Kuro looks at the flames in my hands with sparkling eyes.

(Rin): "Careful not to touch it. It may look nice but they're really dangerous."

(Kuro): "Is this your ability Rin?"

(Rin): "Yep. My flames can burn whatever I want but I still need some more training."

After taking a bath for two hours, we went to the training room and I sparred against Midori for a while. Kuro's still practising walking and watching me and Midori fight. I gotta say I'm surprised that Midori uses his size alteration skill to dodge my attacks. He's getting trickier to fight by the minute but I'm still managing to win against him with my reflexes.

When training was finished I helped kuro walk back to the dormroom for a new change of clothes. Yukio managed to get some clothes for Kuro so I helped Kuro get changed into his clothes while I was at it. Though there's a little bit of a problem with kuros tail. Guess we need to get some custom made trousers and pants for him.

(Rin, Kuro, Midori and Yukio): "Thanks for the food!"

We had rice with miso soup, toast and egg rolls for breakfast today. I've noticed that I've inherited the shounen protagonist endless stomach, but I neither get extremely hungry nor do I ever feel full even if I eat more than a normal household.

Since today is a Sunday, we don't have Cram school, so I'm doing all my homework. Midori and Kuro are playing tag with each in order for Kuro to get used to his new body, but for some reason Kuro is playing on all fours. I guess it's fine as long as they don't hurt each other

But seriously, what's with the bullshit amount of homework! It's only been the first week of school and yet they're already being this annoying!.

(Rin): "Finished!"

I lay on my desk after finishing the last of my maths homework. I still got Yukio's pharmacology homework to do but it's due on Tuesday so I still have time.

(Yukio): "You really are taking things seriously."

(Rin): "Oh, come one, stop being so surprised about every little thing I do."

It's honestly getting annoying when you compare me with the useless old Rin.

I turned to look at Yukio getting changed to his Exorcist Uniform. Hmm? Another mission?

(Rin): "You got a mission right? Let me join!"

If I'm correct it's around here that Rin meets Shiemi. She the garden girl in the manga that the original Rin had a crush on. When I started thinking about what happened with the later chapters and Rin getting rejected, I started thinking it might not be a good idea to interact with her..

Oh well. I have plans other than seeing her.

(Yukio): "If you recall, you're still a page. You have no authority for training on the field."

Oh yeah, I forgot I need to haggle the guy into letting me go.

(Rin): "Don't worry I won't do anything. Think of it as an observation training. After all if I just stay cooped up in my room all day, I'll be bored to death. Plus I already got some 'on the field' experience so I wont be a total deadbeat."

I'm definitely not looking for an excuse to not finish my homework.

(Yukio): ".... I suppose you have a fair point. Very well, then... I'll let you observe, but you must do exactly as I say and no taking actions on your own!"

(Rin): "Okay!"

Well, I'll apologise in advance since that's not gonna happen.

(Rin): "Kuro! Midori! Wanna come with? It'll be a good experience for you guys as well."

(Kuro and Midori): "Sure!"

(Yukio): "I'm going to regrets, aren't i?"

I hear Yukio mutters something under his breath. Yep Yukio, Sorry about this.

I got changed out of my casual clothes and into my school uniform putting both my katanas o my right shoulder and bringing a bag before we headed out. Midori's on my head and I'm holding Kuro's hands since he's still not used to walking without support.

(Yukio): "What's in the bag?"

(Rin): "Nothing much just some work."

(Yukio): "Okay… Anyway this is the suppliers key. One of the keys that only qualified Exorcist are allowed to possess."

Yukio shows me a weird shaped key that only has triangle and square notches and has a flat tip. Another key... Mephisto really loves his keys, huh.

(Rin): "Another key, huh."

(Yukio): "You have of your own too, yes? You should take care of the keys you obtain. They're more valuable than you think. Shall we go, then?"

Yukio put the key in the key hole and opened the door. When the opened a huge gust of wind it me in the face.

Whoa, high. I look around to see where we are in True Cross City. I looked over to my right and I can see the schools building. Damn, we're far away.

(Rin): "Careful you two."

I warn both my familiars since ones on top of my head and could fall down if he's not careful whilst the other still has issues with walking.

(Yukio): "This Academy is an important place for us Exorcist and for the Order. As such, thanks to Sir Pheles's powers it is protected against the more powerful Demons by a combination of Protective Charms, Barriers, Labyrinths and the like. Keys like this allows us to travel around the Academy without running into these traps."

Traps, huh. I wonder if he's talking about the Deep Keep. I need to find a way to investigate that, actually.

We walked to the supplies store that says 'Exorcist Supply Store Futsumaya'.

(Yukio): "Well, I'll be heading in to buy a few things, so just wait right here. This shop is only open to Exorcist and above, so you're not allowed to enter. I won't be taking long.

(Rin): "Okay, okay..."

Yukio starts talking about the shop before taking the staircase to the shop. He then stops, turns around and says.

(Yukio): "No wandering about! And no touching things!"

(Rin): "Just go already!"

Haah, I should've realised that would've happened. I waited for Yukio to enter the shop before i opened my mouth again.

(Rin): "Hey, Kuro, Midori, do you guys sense anything from the Demon warding system?"

I pointed at the gates to the garden as I said that. If I remember correctly the Demon warding system is used to ward off lower level Demons like mindless Goblins. I wonder if it has any effect with the two since I feel nothing from it.

(Kuro and Midori): "Nothing"

They both shake their heads as they tell me. I wonder how the system works.

(Rin): "Lets go and see."

(Kuro): "But didn't Yukio tell us not to move?"

(Rin): "Dont worry about it."

This is probably a bad example for him but it's necessary for what I have in mind.

When I walked up the stairs, I can see the various plants they have. The gardens very colourful with plants I've never seen before. I guess I have another reason to come here now.

(Midori and Kiro): "Wow! it's so pretty!"

I find it cute how they both say the same things out loud.

When I get closer I see a blonde girl with green eyes wearing a pink yukata with a blue apron on top of it, planting a purple flower into the garden.

I got closer to the gate and tried to see if I could understand how to system works, but over than having a creepy design, I don't sense anything from it. I guess this was a failed attempt.

(Rin): "Haaah. Well, I better get the show on the road."

I touched the Gate, which made me experience a bit of static that made me flinch a bit. The gate made a loud noise which alerted the girl inside and opened up, not breaking like in the anime.

(Shiemi): "D-!Demon!"

Yep, it still hurts being called a Demon, but its not untrue.

(Rin): "Yeah, so? I may be half Demon but there's more people out there that are Demonic than I am!"

Honestly it's getting annoying with the 'Demons are all evil' stereotypes. Luckily, Yanno didn't react like that when he found out but I guess it's because of his lack of exposure.

During my statement I started to walk towards Shiemi which causes her to frighten up.

(Shiemi): "Stay back! Somebody help m-"

Shiemi starts screaming before she face plants into the garden. Seriously, what's with this day? From one annoying thing to another.

(Rin): "You okay? What happened to your legs."

(Shiemi): "Huh?"

When she realises that I'm not going to harm her she finally calmed down. Finally, I was wondering how long this drama was going to last.

(Shiemi): "My name is Shiemi Moriyama, what's yours?"

(Rin): "My names Rin Okumura. The kid next to me is Kuro and the Goblin on my head is Midori. You've probably heard of Yukio, I'm his older twin brother."

(Kuro and Midori): "Nice to meet you!"

They both enthusiastically give their introductions to Shiemi, even though I'm pretty sure she can't hear Midori at all. I feel bad for him now. But I don't think Shiemi even processed what they said.

(Shiemi): "Huuuuuh?"

Shiemi looks at me in surprise as she finds out I'm her admirers older brother. Honestly the look on her face made me laugh.

(Rin); "Hahaha"

(Shiemi): "Hey, it's not nice to laugh at someone."

(Rin): "Yeah, and it's not nice to call someone a Demon either."

Regardless if it's true or not, it's still rude to call a stranger a demon and start fearing them even though they haven't even done anything.

(Shiemi): "I-i'm sorry. I shouldn't have suddenly called you that."

Shiemi bows as she said that. Guess she really means it, huh. Well, no reason to give her a hard time, when I don't really care what people call me.

(Rin): "Its alright. By the way, you have a lovely garden. Did you plant these yourself?"

I pointed at the flowers in front of me. Honestly, I have no clue what kind of flowers these are, but they're beautiful looking.

(Shiemi): "This place is my granny's garden. Granny taught me all kinds of things right here in this garden... I... love this garden... just like I love Granny. But this winter, granny died in an accident. I'm sure... she's gone to the Garden of Amahara ahead of me..."

Shiemi says this to us with a sad face. Kuro, Midori and I all just watch her face as we watch her expressions change from sorrow to guilt.

(Rin): "The garden of Amahara... isn't that the garden of God, where God gathered all of the plants in the world in one place? I hope my dads their as well."

I'm honestly using my past knowledge from reading the manga for this. But regardless, if there was a Garden of Amahara I hope he's enjoying his time there

(Shiemi): "Y-you know of the Garden of Amahara?"

(Rin): "Yeah?"

Shiemi suddenly grabs my hands and proceeds to ask me.

(Shiemi): "Can we be friends?"

Shiemi has a red face as she asks me with resolve in her eyes. She's kinda cute.

(Rin): "Sure."

I give a smile seeing her flushed face. No reason to reject her, right?

(Rin): "But before that, I think we need to fix those legs of yours."

I pointed at her legs, as I can see root like veins on them. I'm pretty sure Kuro and Midori already noticed that her legs are possessed by a Demon. The Demon's called a Dekalp, a low level Demon that possess plants.

They're normally non-threatening, but the injuries they inflict appear similar to thick roots across the skin. If left unchecked, the Dekalp can possess the unsuspecting person, using them as both a host and a meat shield.

Hey, studying paid off.

(Rin): "You realise the longer you have these on your legs, the more endangered your life gets and for the people around you. I'm sure your granny wouldn't want that. Once you get better, we can even look for the Garden of Amahara if you want. You shouldn't blame yourself for Granny's death."

I rub her head as i said that. Shiemi stays silent, contemplating my words before finally making her decision.

In the meantime the three of us stay quiet since it's an important decision for her

(Shiemi): "I would love to look for the Garden of Amahara with you!"

Shiemi finally makes her decision. Great now to deal with the Demon

(Yukio): "Nii-san! What are you doing here? I can't leave my eyes off you for a second."

As soon as Shiemi Makes her decision, Yukio and Shiemi's mother came into the Garden. Haaah anime cliches, can't I do one thing without being interrupted!

(???): "You've broken our promise...! Unforgivable!"

We heard a deep voice coming from Shiemi's legs and then Shiemi's legs started sprouting more roots as the Demon Dekalp possess her body. Shiemi's body is covered in many roots and leaves with Purple petals above her head, with orange eyes and her arms are covered in many roses and other flowers

Ugh, its creepy seeing this in real life.

(Yukio): "Miss Moriyama, take cover!"

Yukio warns the lady to take cover but she's stunned from seeing her daughter being possessed.

(Rin): "Yukio, take miss Moriyama to cover! I'll hold it off now!"

Yukio gives me a nod before giving me a meaningful look. Guess he doesn't want me to use my flames, huh.

(Rin): "You two stay here. I want to deal with this one by myself."

I put Kuro on the floor with Midori on his head.

(Dekalp): "We will be here forever… Together forever in this garden… Ahahahahah."

I draw my katana on my left shoulder and prepare my stance whilst the Demon gives the normal villains line. Bring it on bastard!

I charge at it with my katana in hand and tried to slash it but the damn thing keeps on using her as a meat shield. But I stay calm since I'm only waiting for miss Moriyama to go away.

(Yukio): "Nii-san, Let me help!"

Yukio quickly returns after safely taking miss Moriyama back to the house and comes here for back up.

(Rin): "Don't need it."

I smile at Yukio and draw out Kurikara. My katana in my left hand and kurikara in my right. I once again feel the pleasant feeling of my five senses increase as everything in my vision becomes slow and in a shade of blue .

(Rin): "Satan slash!"

I use the same move Rin used in the manga during the illuminati arc, but mines a bit special.

A line of blue flames are emitted from Kurikara as they hit Shiemi and cover her entire body.

(Dekalp): "You damn Exorcist!"

The Dekalp gets frightened by the sudden events of my heritage and my attack, that it separates itself from Shiemi. I use this as a chance to awkwardly catch her body before it hit the floor, which made me drop my katana

Since its meat shield is gone, even an amatuer knight can deal with it, so I sliced it up with kurikara.

I place shiemi's body on the floor as I get rid of the flames on her body and quickly examine her body. Phew, it worked out well.

(Yukio): "Nii-san!"

After I gently laid Shiemi's body on the floor, Yukio comes running to me and tries to punch me in the face.

(Rin): "What do you think you're doing?"

Since I'm still in my demon form, I easily grabbed his punch and question him for his actions. Seriously, am i just fated to face troubles because of my face.

(Yukio): "What do you mean what am I doing? Do you realise what you done."

Haaah, seriously? I unsheathed Kurikara and my katana as I sigh at Yukio's mistake.

(Shiemi): "...Ahh... Rin..."

(Rin): "Morning sleeping beauty. The roots are gone from your legs so you should be able to walk now."

I help her stand up as she wobbly walks around. Why am I getting Deja vu?

(Miss Moriyama): "Shiemi!"

Miss Moriyama comes out of the house once she notices the fight is over. Shiemi looks at her, still confused on the sudden situation and doesn't know what to say.

(Rin): "Go on. She's been worried sick of you ever since you got ill. The least you can do is make her happy while you're still alive."

I give her a gentle smile and give her a little push on the back to talk to her mother.

(Miss Moriyama): "You know I once looked for it myself, when I was younger. The garden of Amahara."

She says that and surprises Shiemi before hugging her tightly.

(Miss Moriyami): "You stupid, stupid little girl...! I was worried sick...!"

(Shiemi): "I'm so sorry, mother...!"

They both cry at each others arms while thankful that the others is alright. I wonder if that's what it's like to have a caring mother? I guess this is the closest thing I'll see of it.

(Yukio): "Nii-san..."

Yukio calls out my name with a confused and slightly annoyed look.

(Rin): "What? You got jealous of the mother-daughter duo and want a bro on bro hug?"

I open my arms out wide and joke around with Yukio. I stopped when I noticed the serious look on his face remains. Lecture incoming.

(Yukio): "That was reckless behaviour! If you failed to control it for even a second you could've killed shiemi-san!"

The mother daughter duo look at us after noticing Yukio shouting at me. Oh come on. you ruined their beautiful moment, ya know?

(Rin): "Relax man. I've been training hard to control it. I've already mastered the basics of it, so it won't hurt whatever I don't want it to hurt."

I mean I can burn the sweat off my body and get rid of morning breath easily. Even if my body is immune to my flames, I'll still feel the flames touching my skin and stuff so I know if I'm burning something like my skin or not.

Though I want to make my flames more solid and make it change shape but I still have a long way to go before mastering that.

(Rin): "After all I don't wanna hurt my new friend"

I give a wink to Shiemi as I say that. I said that to get rid of her worried face but it made her blush. Oh boy, looks like the effect worked too well.
