My Life In Blue Exorcist

I open my eyes and look at an unfamiliar ceiling.

(Rin): "Where am I again?"

I get up from my bed and look around in a daze, I still feel nauseous but I try to endure it while I try and remember where I am again.

I should've been at my bed at home but this isn't mine-Oh, wait. Now I remember I'm now Rin Okumura. So that must mean I'm in his room right now.

(Rin): "Seriously. What the hell did I get myself into?"

When I was looking around in the room to see what there was, I see a bed at the other side of the room with two desks near the window. On the desk's side by side with each other, one has random junk and food wrappers on it, with books and mangas lying around whilst the other is neat with its equipment and books neatly in a pile.

I picked up a picture frame, that was between the two desks with everyone in the monastery. There's people I don't recognise but when I focus on them I see "myself" interacting with them. I began looking at each one of the priests and started digesting the information I was receiving. Unlike before, it's not as painful but I'm getting a small migraine. I finally stop my actions when I gaze at Yukio and Rin, when they were kids, and Father Fujimoto who put his left hand on Yukio's shoulder and the same with the other hand with Rin, well me. I closed my eyes once again and digest the memories I receive, not only memories but emotions as well. It looked like a picture of a happy father who brought his children to his workplace at the church.

(Rin): "Father"

I started crying again when I started remembering "my" interactions with Shiro Fujimoto, my father, when I was growing up. I remembered playing with father and Yukio at the park when it was snowing, we had snowball fights and built a snowman.

I started breaking down, my legs started to feel weak. Still holding the picture frame I fell back onto the bed and cried in my sleeves. Why? Why was I so stupid? I started remembering what happened before I passed out. The monastery being attacked. Astaroths, the king of rots, invasion and fathers death.

After crying for an unknown time I got up to look for father. How long was I sleeping for? I get out of the room and look around the monastery, although I don't know where I'm going I have a feeling it's this way. I somehow make it out of the monastery and into a graveyard. Never knew the graveyard was so close.

As I entered the graveyard, I see the other priests visiting, what I assume is fathers grave. I look at them one by one and started remembering their names. Seishiro Nagamoto, Naoyo Kyodo even some that I don't remember seeing in either the anime or manga like a man called Yasumoto Kawanari who's another one of the priests that works for father and helps do minor tasks for the church like cleaning and helping those who seeks help from the church.

I walked past them and started to make my way to fathers grave. I could tell it was fathers as it a new grave with his name engraved into it.

Hey there, father. mm... feels weird talking to you like this but... I hope you can hear me out. I'm sorry for everything I've done. I'm sorry for being a brat. I know there's no use in crying right now but I can't help it. I'm sorry for not listening to you and had an outburst. I should've realised you've been looking after me and protecting me from the demons, but I hurt you. Not only that, I got you killed.

I started getting flashbacks from the past again, but this time from my world. I never knew who my real father was, but I knew who my mother was. She wasn't a good mother though. When I was younger I never knew who she was as I was raised by my grandparents instead, but that ended when I was seven. When it was my birthday they died in a traffic accident, trying to get me a birthday present. So I was forced to live with my mother who simply didn't care about my existence.

Apparently she was a p.r.o.s.t.i.t.u.t.e when she was in highschool and wanted to get some more money since our family were barely able to get much income. I don't know when but at some point she got pregnant with one of her clients. I don't think even she remembers who got her i.m.p.r.e.g.n.a.t.ed. She originally wanted to get rid of me but when my grandparents found out about her "job" and about me, they wanted to raise me up instead of getting me aborted.

I was lucky enough to have caring grandparents but my mother did not inherit any of their virtues. How do I know all this? My mother would yell at me with the same story over and over again. She hated me and likewise, I hated her. Whenever something didn't work out she'd blame it on me. Her relationsh.i.p.s breaking down, not getting a promotion, not being able to pay the bills. She'd either physically or verbally lash out on me.

So... I guess you can say that I'm jealous of Rin. He never knew his real parents but had a loving foster father, an overprotective, yandere-ish, younger brother and everyone else in the Monastery. He was able to live a carefree life and didn't have to live up to anyone's expectations growing up.

I don't know why I'm here or what's gonna happen to me but I know one thing.

(Rin): "I'm not wasting this opportunity."

I can't mope around forever, especially when this world is more dangerous than it seems.

(Rin): "From now on, my name is Rin Okumura. I'm gonna leave my past behind, become the happiest person in the world and use my knowledge to survive in this world."

I smiled at my resolve and make it clear to the world what my goal is.

As I smiled, I remembered my father's words before he left me:

(Fujimoto): "Rin, once you leave the monastery, I want you to use this. There's a single number stored in its memory, it is the number of a friend of mine. I doubt you'll be able to live as you have done until this day but my friend will at least be able to protect you."

I put my right hand in my pocket, only now realising I'm still wearing the suit, and brought out fathers phone. I looked at it and started thinking. So this is when it all started. With Rin and Mephisto meeting and this will be my first step in becoming an exorcist. There's no password so I was able to unlock it and went to contacts straight away, there's only one number so I dialed it and waited for him to respond.

(???): dada-da-da-de dede-ne-ne-ne* dada-da-da-de dede-ne-ne-ne*

When the phone started ringing I hear a circus theme ringtone from a bit away. So he's here already. How long have they been camping here?

(From the phone): "A p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to meet you, Rin Okumura."

The phone cuts out as a men in black jump out of wherever they were hiding along with a man wearing a white suit shirt and undershirt, jester-style trousers, a tie with polka dots, a white hat thats pink and purple around the base, purple gloves and pointed shoes. The rest of the men are just wearing a black outfit, carrying weapons on their belt and a mask to hide their face. These must be Mephisto's personal exorcist or maybe his assassination corp.

(Mephisto): "My name is Mephisto Pheles. I am a friend of Father Fujimoto. you have my sympathies for what you have been through."

(Rin): "So your the person that father said will look after me?"

(Mephisto): "I am afraid that as an Honorary Knight... I have certain responsibilities.

I cannot confuse personal with public interest. You are the son of Satan therefore you must be killed before you pose a threat to humanity. You now have two options remaining for you: Allow us to kill you... Or you kill us and flee. I suppose there's also the option for you to commit suicide. now then, which so you prefer?"

I expected as much. There's no way any sane Exorcist will let the son of Satan walk freely and live. Luckily this isn't your normal Exorcist I'm dealing with.

(Rin): "I pick none of the above"

(Mephisto): "hmm?"

(Rin): "let me join you guys."

(Mephisto): "Waah?"

(Rin): "You can say what you want, think what you want, I don't give a damn, but get this straight, I may be Satan's son but my true father is Shiro Fujimoto."

(Mephisto): "And what would you do... if you become an Exorcist?"

(Rin): "It's obvious isn't it? I'm gonna beat the shit out of Satan!"

That should be enough to get on this guys good side.

(Mephisto): "Hahahahah, oh this is wonderful, hahahahaha, I haven't laughed like this in ages!"

(Rin): "You done laughing? You know I'm serious about this."

(Mephisto): "Hahaha, Satans son as an exorcist. Very well, I like it."

(Men in black): "Wha-? Sir Pheles...!"

(Rin): "Thanks."

(Mephisto): "However the path you have chosen is a long and treacherous one. Do you still profess on taking that route?"

(Rin): "Yeah I promised the old man I won't waste any opportunities if they're in front of me. I'll live my life and won't have anymore regrets. Anyways, I can't live either as a normal human and I don't think the demon life will suit me. so... I'll become an Exorcist."

(Mephisto): "A very excellent answer, young RIn. Rest well tonight and pack your things up. Tomorrow I'll pick you up and aid you for your journey as an exorcist."
