My Life In Blue Exorcist

-Demon Yanno's Pov-

No. No. I've finally escaped my seal. I don't want to go back to that darkness. Why? Why can't I enjoy life like everyone else? Is it because I'm different? Because I'm a Demon?

(Demon): "F.u.c.k you!"

It's all his fault! Why was he there? And why does he have that power! Why was he born as Satan's son and why was I born as shitty Beelzebub's son.

(Demon): "Aaaaaah."

Feeling the rage inside me with nowhere to direct it, I continue smashing the sheet of metal as I make indentments all over it until it breaks but I don't care as I just get whatever is closest to me to continue smashing.

It's not fair! It's not fair! That bastard! That bastard!

My knuckles are bruised but they slowly heal. Even my healing is shit against someone like him. Why? Why is life so unfair to the ungifted? Why do I have to suffer and someone like him gets to live life easily?

(Demon Yanno): "I don't want to go back to the darkness."

I curl up into a ball after finishing my tantrum. I'm going to go back there, aren't I? Back to their haunting stares. I don't want to but that decision isn't mine to make.

-Mephisto's Pov after he sends Rin to the pocket dimension-

(Mephisto): "So what do you think of Rin's improvements, Yoru?"

I say that just before the person himself was about to knock on the door. Opening the door, Yoru, my servant comes walking in with the usual frown on his face.

(Yoru): "I think he's maturing fine. So what do you want with me, old man?"

(Mephisto): "Oh come now, I'm only a couple thousand years older than you. There's no reason to be so distant. Oh, and you need to stop frowning else your face will get used to it."

I say that as I visibly see the annoyance on Yoru's face. It almost reminds me of the pissed off look characters in anime have. Oh, what a pleasant face full of emotion.

(Mephisto): "Did you reinforce the hallways with the charms like I have instructed you to?"

(Yoru): "Yep."

Just before the Demon in Yanno awakened, I had Yoru to place barriers all over the campus in order to make sure that the Culture Club members don't interfere with Rin's battle. If they did then Rin wouldn't have displayed his full potential.

(Mephisto): "...Oh is that so, but It appears that we have an uninvited guest today."

I snap my fingers as I said that and summon a Mephy-projector. I flip the switch and with it, it displays a projection of a person wearing a grey hoodie snooping around on my campus. Dear, oh dear, it looks like Shura Kirigakuri has begun her snooping thanks to the loud noise. It appears that things don't always go to plan like you think it will go.

(Yoru): "What should we do?"

Yoru says that as I see his eyes reflect a fierce glint. Oh? Looks like someone is worried about someone else again.

(Mephisto): "Relax, relax, I'm sure that they were given orders by the Order to snoop around. It's only a matter of time before the truth that Satan's son is alive and becoming an Exorcist. Fuhuhu, funny isn't it?"

I chuckle a little as I recall that time when I saw Rin by Father Fujimoto's grave. Him saying that he'll kick Satan's a.s.s and become an Exorcist. Please, what a joke.

Too bad I know that he wasn't serious when he said that. Else I would've enjoyed the show more a lot more.

Oops, I digress again and I can almost see the cross-popping vein on Yoru's face. Another wonderful expression.

(Yoru): "You're meant to be his goddamn guardian! Don't you think you're being a little too relaxed?"

(Mephisto): "Oh? Coming from the Demon who went through hell to have a human form in order to save his beloved. I think you should care more about your beloveds is recovery than some kid you've only met for a week and a bit."

Aah, emotions. Such a beautiful thing. Humans especially since they show off emotions more than they would like to think. Even some Demons that have been living in human society for a long time have developed these emotions, though not as superbly.

(Yoru): "!!"

Seeing as the situation wasn't going anywhere, I released some of my Aura and teleported behind Yoru. Yoru stood there, stiff with fear as his forehead is covered in sweat. Ooo, another one.

(Mephisto): "Don't think that you are unique or valuable just because you have a human form. Now if you have nothing else to report, I'd like to start preparing my next raid on this game I'm playing."

I teleport back to my seat after confirming Yoru's reaction and silent agreement. He then walks out of my office wordlessly as I make a few snacks appear. Dear me, why can't life be fairer?

Oh well, back to the game.

-Rin's Pov-

Mephisto snaps his fingers as my familiars and I get teleported to the pocket dimension. I feel a weird force acting on my body during that moment as I quickly opened my eyes again to see the world has changed. Why were my eyes closed in the first place?

I look around me to see the sky red with broken machines everywhere. This isn't where Mephisto dumps all his electrical appliances, is it? That lazy guy...

I wonder if this is another sick twist of fate? The original Rin was sent here when he was declared to be executed but now I'm here, trying to save my friend who is the son of Beelzebub and is probably gonna get killed if the Order finds out about him.

Yep, life sucks. And it's you when you don't expect it, huh.

I get a small migraine as I look around. Hmm, this place is like the training room, huh. My internal clock is moving slower than outside. Looks like time moves slower than in the training room.

(Rin): "Looks like we have a chance to get some decent training."

I say that with a grin as I look at my two familiars, waiting patiently for me. Midori's sitting on a broken washing machine and Kuro is standing beside him.

(Rin): "Alright, let's go!"

I say that as I spread my Aura out. I'd say that it covers a 500-meter radius. I use this to quickly find the Aura of Demon Yanno and we run towards there.

(Demon Yanno): "Get me out of here!"

When we get there, we see the Demon is breathing roughly. His eyes are bloodshot, his hair dishevelled and his clothes are torn. What's the time dilation like in this world for that to happen?

I smile at the thought of using this place to train but the Demon Yanno mistakes it as something malicious as he screams in fear. I wonder if the spars Akane and I have affected how I smile?

I release blue flames from my feet as I use them to propel myself towards Demon Yanno and land a kick to his face. The Demon staggers to the ground but not until I give him another kick to the gut.

(Rin): "What happened to the all high and mighty attitude, oh dear nephew."

I say that as my smile gets a little bigger. This is a perfect opportunity to try something from a manga I've read before.

I attack the Demon with my pseudo-martial arts moves that are infused with my blue flames to increase the speed of my attack or even the direction of the attacks. It's a one-sided slaughter as I beat the Demon but I notice something strange.

(Kuro): 'Why's he so weak?'

(Rin): 'That's what I was thinking.'

The Demon doesn't have good regeneration nor does he have any super strength. It feels like I'm bullying a summoner at this point, so I end it all with an uppercut.

The Demon screams one last time before passing out and we all just stand there wondering what to do now. A little anticlimactic considering he was able to summon that spider god-thing. I wonder if he lost contact with his contracts or if the fear caused his contracts to not uphold?

Oh well, made this easier for myself.

(Rin): "Looks like he's finally out cold. I wonder how long it'll take for him to wake up?"

I have a feeling that we'll be spending a lot of time here. Damn Mephisto didn't even give us a key to get out and I doubt he'll help us out anytime soon. How did Shiemi get Rin to escape in the anime again? Didn't he just burst his way out? I guess I could follow the same method, huh.

(Rin): "Welp, let's get some training done. It's been a while since we've spared and I've never fought against you, have I Kuro? Well, not in your human form at least."

(Kuro and Midori): "Sure!"

I spent the remaining of the 'day' sparring with Kuro and Midori. We didn't use any of our abilities but pure martial arts. Midori is about the same strength as I am and Kuro is slightly faster than me but I quickly beat them in terms of quick thinking and predicting attacks.

Midori sends a punch towards me as Kuro comes to my sides to land a kick. I twist my body to my left to dodge Midori's fist and then do a cartwheel to dodge Kuro's kick. We practised our combat with no proper technique in mind but pure instincts for as long as our bodies can train for.

When the 'day' was over, I turned to Yanno still sleeping on a broken mattress. I wonder what his reaction will be after finding out about his origin?

(Rin): "Alright, lets clean up."

I say that as I use my flames to burn the sweat off everyone. We all stay comfortably in the flames until one of them decides to go to sleep.

We all decided to sleep somewhere away from Yanno in case the Demon possesses him again while we're asleep. I look at the two of them sleeping with each other without a blanket and I wish I could make a mattress or something for them to sleep on or a blanket at least.

I look at the campfire I made as the surroundings start to become darker. It gives off the spooky vibe and my blue flames only amplifies that feeling.

(Rin): "Hmm, seems like it's been 20 minutes in our old world since we came here."

I say that as the numbers 13:21 come to my head. Looks like I don't have to worry about missing days of school but only a few hours, though I wonder what will happen when it's time for dinner.

I get lost in thought, thinking about the last two weeks. Shocking, isn't it? I've been in this world for less than 2 weeks and I've already killed a number of Demons already. Even one calling me God Slayer.

Do gods exist?

I've never been one to worship anything. Actually, I'm more of the sc.u.mmy kind that blames or begs god at the lowest and says nothing at my best.

I guess that Tarantula was some kind of god, huh. Chief of the Mochica culture or whatever he was called.

(Rin): "Haah, I need to stop thinking of the past."

I say that before sighing again. At least this world is more enjoyable than my old world. I stare at the blue flames that never burn the metal it's on, nor does it even make the sound of sizzle.

(Rin): "Hmm, I wonder..."

I summon a small flame at the palm of my hand before willing them to burn the light around it. The flames illuminate a purple-ish hue.

(Rin): "Interesting, looks like burning different things leads my flames to have a different property. Burning the light particles themselves makes my flames darker with a purple hue. But shouldn't it be black instead? Weird."

I then remember that black flames are able to burn the soul. I then test out my ideas of having my flames possess different properties by willing to change to other colours like red, orange and black. Seems like orange is just regular fire but slightly weaker, red is stronger than the orange fire but nowhere near my blue flames, then I change them to black after willing them to burn the spirit of a body.

I put the tip of my fingers in the black flames and feel my energy fading. Interesting... I wonder if I can keep the properties the same but keep my flames blue?

(Rin): "Looks like my flames are more than just blue flames of destruction, huh."

I then get another crazy idea that I hope I won't regret too much. I once again summon my flames but this time I burn the time around it. In my palm, I feel the weight of the flames increase as an object is formed.

(Rin): "Ice? No, it can't be since it isn't cold at all. It looks really shiny, maybe a crystal?"

I look at the crystal that was formed from burning a concept like time. The crystal is shiny and see-through. I wonder what its uses are?

I then started to play around with the crystal by throwing it up in the air. It's oddly light compared to its size. I wonder how durable it is?

I think that as I draw my katana to slice the crystal. I don't know what I was thinking since it could be a diamond but the crystal doesn't even have a scratch on it.

(Rin): "Looks like I can f.u.c.k up the diamond industry with this, huh."

I then did some more tests on the crystal-like using another one to smash it up or using my flames to burn it. Surprisingly enough, my flames can only slowly burn them up to nothingness.

(Rin): "Looks like my flames can burn it but only slowly, and normal weapons can't even leave a scratch on it. Interesting..."

If I play my cards right, I might be able to make something nice out of this. Welp, it looks like I won't have to worry about money with this cheat like method.

I wonder if my flames can purify ores?

I used my flames on the scrap metal around me and started to smelt them and make them into objects with just pure flames.

I don't have the ability to appraise the metal but I think I got rid of its purities with this. Looks like I'll be needing Yoshikuni's help for this kind of stuff, huh.

I then remember when Shura was able to summon her sword by storing it in her body as well as storing a can of beer in her stomach in the Ova. I focus my flames on the scrap metal and try to infuse it into the metal itself and see if I can store objects like this.

I got the idea when I recall Mephisto or Amaimon saying that Rin's flames are from Gehenna. If I can call them from Gehenna, can't I also store stuff to Gehenna if they become part of my flames?

If I can store stuff into Gehenna then I won't need to carry around my Demon Heart and katana wherever I go. Though I won't have a clue if something will be able to interact with the objects I send.

(Rin): "Oh well, life's all about taking risks."

If it doesn't go well and Kurikara breaks then I might die or I might have to fight my other self if I have one.

My first attempt didn't go so well as it just melted the metal, the second time made it release a smell that I think is poisonous so I decided to move a little away from the group after burning the smell. Man, these flames are useful.

I spent the whole night with the hope of being able to store items into Gehenna and make my life easier. Just as I was about to give up, for the time being, I tried again but with the thought of giving the item a mark on it like a signature.

At this point, I'm too tired from the lack of sleep and from the use of my flames, to even care what I'm doing. I made a trident mark with flames on the three pointy bits and tried my luck if it'd work.

I burn the junk with my flames and then re-imagine it in my head. I then see a flame appear and the metal scrap is back in one piece!

(Rin): "I did it!"

I shouted at the top of my lungs as I finally got my theory to work! I quickly try again with another scrap metal and try again but this time it didn't work.

(Rin): "Guess I got lucky."

I say that with a small smile since I know that it's possible to do but I lack the skill to do it for now. I confirmed that I wasn't imagining it by storing the metal scrap then recalling it.

(Rin): "Let's get some shut-eye."

The sun looks like it's about to rise so I might as well sleep now while I get the chance.

-Yanno's Pov-

I don't know what's happening but as soon as I opened my eyes, I see myself running from something. It's dark with its face hidden but it continues to smirk at me as if it's found something interesting.

I look forward and see a glimpse of light and start running faster. I ignore my body screaming in protest as my gut tells me to run faster.

Hah, hah, my vision gets blurry as I continue struggling towards the light. It feels like I've been running for hours as my legs are starting to fail me. The creepy figure still behind me but this time it has a frown on its face as if annoyed.

(Yanno): "Haaah!"

I jump up as my body shivers from what I just saw. So it was a nightmare...

I look around me and find out that I was sleeping on a broken mattress with its spring out. What happened? Didn't I take a nap? Did I get kidnapped?

(Yanno): "Where... Am I?"

(Rin): "Morning Demon Boy, had a nice sleep?"

Rin comes out of nowhere as he's topless and dodges a punch from Kuro and kid with green hair. My brain doesn't process what I just witnessed as I see Rin fighting like an anime character, dodging each attack with ease.

(Yanno): "The hell? What happened to me? And where are we?"

My head hurts as I try to recollect what happened. Why are we in a wasteland and why is the sky red? Also, why is Rin fighting with kids

(Rin): "Long story short, you got possessed by your alternative ego, went on the rampage and then got sent to this dimension by Mephisto, our principle."

(Yanno): "What? Gimme a minute."

Alternative ego? Possessed? Dimension? The hell? And why does the name Mephisto sound familiar?

(Yanno): "What do you mean-"

(Rin): "You're a demon, Yanno. Just like me."

Before I could ask my question, Rin answers me and raises his palm towards me. In it, a small blue flame appears before increasing in size until it's the size of a watermelon.

(Yanno): "Oh shit! You can use fire! And it's blue? Does that mean your flames are like a Bunsen burner which is stronger than regular flames?"

I only now get a better look at Rin and see a black tail and his pupils are now red. The hell? Is this what all Demons are capable of and look like?

(Rin): "Yep, these are Satan's flames..."

Huh? Satan? The Satan! You're telling me that I'm friends with the devil's son!?

(Rin): "Surprising, isn't it? Oh, and you're also Beelzebub's son, which technically makes you my nephew"

I'm sorry, what? I'm Beelzebub's son? And your Nephew? The hell did I miss when I was passed out?

(Yanno): "Wait, what?"

I then get a headache as I feel something shatter inside my head. With it, I feel memories of when I was young flowing into my mind. So that's why...

I see a scene where my father protected me after I got kidnapped by an organization. I can't see any of their faces but they all had the same lifeless eyes.

They judged me and insulted me for being weak. Then my dad saved me but I was already broken when that happened. Looks like my broken side became my other personality or Demon and the current me is just a false personality.

(Rin): "You ok?"

Rin raises his hands to check my temperature or something but then stopped his hands. I remember now… Just before we got here.

(Yanno): "I'm sorry."

I say that as I feel my head splitting me apart. Heh, now I know why I never cry even when I used to get bullied. Looks like I've been broken for a long time now.

(Rin): "Apology not accepted."

Rin's words come crashing down on me as I'm stunned for words. He hates me, huh. Even though I've known him for a few weeks, he felt like a genuine friend unlike those two-faced people from before.

(Rin): "We're mates. It's a given that I'd help you out in your lowest."

I raise my head in shock at what he said. Seriously? Even though I tried to kill you? What are you a shounen character?

(Rin): "What? I don't want to be a two-faced person that will chat shit behind other people's back. As long as you have my back than I have yours."

I take a sigh when I finally got to realize how good of a friend Rin is. Though we don't know much about each other's families and private stuff, I'd like to get closer to this guy.

(Rin): "Well, carrying on from before, we aren't related by blood even though your dad is my brother. Most Demon's call Satan their father whereas Yukio and I are Satan's biological children."

(Yanno): "..."

Does that mean Yukio also has powers like Rin? I wonder if the powers are a recessive gene or a dominant gene since I don't remember seeing him with Rin's ears or have canine-like teeth. Maybe it was because I couldn't see Demons at that point that I didn't notice.

(Rin): "But I got some bad news though..."

You're saying it as if being the Son of a Demon or being possessed by my other half wasn't the worst of it.

(Rin): "You're in a situation where you're gonna get killed if you go out on another rampage. The Order, which is a group of Exorcists that help around the world, are going to get suspicious about the recent events and are most likely going to investigate it. To prevent them from finding a link with the events and you, I'm gonna have to train you. At least until you can hold your own against an Exorcist."

I can't describe the shock I felt when Rin said I was going to get killed. Why? Because I'm a Demon's son. But I don't regret being my dad's son. He's always been careful of me to the point that he'd get into arguments with my mum for my benefit.

But seriously, isn't the racism a little strong? We haven't done anything yet they want us dead like we killed their family.

(Yanno): "Alright, I understand. By the way, who's the green-haired kid?"

I looked at the kid head-to-toe before asking that question. He has the same hairstyle as Rin and a similar face, sorta like a chibi version of Rin just like Kuro.

(Rin): "He's Midori, my other familiar and son. He got his human form this morning. You've probably noticed that Demons have features that are different from humans like my ears or tail. Every Demon is different which includes you."

Haah, this guy... I guess he likes kids for him to call them his children. A bit weird, not gonna lie, but I can understand him for wanting kids, but really dude? Talk about too soon for responsibilities

(Yanno): "Me?"

It was then that I noticed that I don't have any pointy ears or a tail. Actually, what are my powers? Greed and harvest?

(Rin): "Yep. We can't have you go back to the Academy when you can easily be possessed again. Your eye medication probably won't have an effect anymore since you've been using it as a kid. Let's just say, I'm gonna make your life hell for the next few days."

Rin says that as he summons a katana out of his Blue Flames. Wow.

(Yanno): "Wait, Rin, we can talk this out."

I have a bad feeling about this training scheme. A thought in my head tells me to run as fast as I can.

(Rin): "Nope, you better start running"

-11 days later, Rin's Pov-

I spent the first-day training Yanno's body which made him pass out once again. Poor Yanno. When he woke up, I had to threaten him to take his Demon Aura training seriously, else he'd have to go through the body training again.

It took him about 3 days to be able to master the basics of controlling his Demon Aura before we moved onto more combat training. The look on his face was hilarious when he found out that his powers are like a Summoner but he still powered through with the training when he saw that Kuro and Midori are only melee fighters.

I guess I broke his weeb heart, huh.

(Rin): "Come on, puts some effort into that punch."

I say that on the 12th day of being in this world while I block a fist from Yanno and do a flip to dodge Kuro's claws. For some reason, we don't get hungry as we absorb the energy around this world. This place is abundant with Demon Aura for some reason but it's helpful for us since there's no vegetation or animals here.

I look at my internal clock and the number 6:34 appears. We've been for about 12 days and the progress we've all made is significant. I'm able to store objects without destroying them and able to make my flames more solid than before. I think my proudest achievement is being able to store my katana and kurikara though I think I'll still carry my katana for the sake of no one seeing my flames to summon my swords.

Kuro and Midori are able to transform back to their original forms but say that they prefer their human form. They've also been able to get better at attacking and defending but we seriously need to get an actual teacher to teach us techniques for martial arts. Maybe Yoru-sensei can help us?

As for Yanno, he's a little behind the rest of the two. His regeneration has increased to that of an average Demon but his body is still weak compared to Kuro and Midori. Though he's got a better understanding on how to summon his Demons and can call that creepy centipede again.

Ugh, I don't know how I got rid of my emotions when I first fought the centipede but it gives me shivers thinking about it. I wonder if my flames can burn something like emotions? Let's not test that any time soon.

(Rin): "Yo, we need to talk."

I say that to yanno who's laying on the floor, covered in sweat after we finished our 3 vs 1 spar.

(Yanno): "Sure what's up?"

Yanno says that as he gets up from the ground and sits crossed legs.

(Rin): "Remember the Order that wants our heads if we ever get found? Well, they aren't exactly pure in their d.e.s.i.r.es. In fact, the top brass of the Order is run by Demons."

Yanno's face is shocked when he finds out that the Order is run by Demons. I then explained the Orders history that most Exorcists don't know. About how it was formed by Demons to help humans to defend themselves, how Satan isn't their real father, about the 8 Demon kings and finally about my plans for a faction.

(Yanno): "You serious about building a faction?"

Yanno says that as he releases a heavy sigh. I can't blame him since it was a lot of information for one person to take in.

(Rin): "Yep, but I have no clue on how to start about it. I just want to make sure that the Demons and the Order don't do anything crazy to take each other out and those around them."

After all, if this world is like the anime with Rin's crazy grandfather than I know for a fact that this world will do some crazy shit to "save" themselves from the Demons. If I want to live a semi-decent life I need to get rid of these obstacles

(Yanno): "Yep, that sounds like you."

(Rin): "Oi, what do you by that?"

I guess my first impression is still that of an idiot, huh.

(Yanno): "Haha, I'm just joking around. But seriously, if you need help then let me join. I'm sure I can help you out the way I am now."

(Rin): "Thanks, man. Looks like you can at least control your Demon Aura. Too bad your body is too weak compared to a Demons"

I joke around with Yanni a bit to get a little revenge.

(Yanno): "Oi, come on. You really think I can catch up to three Demons that can train like mad people?"

Yanno rolls his eyes as he says that. As I just chuckle to his reaction

(Rin): "Alright whatever, let's get out of this world."

(Yanno): "How?"

(Rin): "Like this."

(Yanno): "Wha-?"

I summon a wall of Blue flames as it starts to change to a silver tint and a view of Mephisto sitting on his office with a bag of crisps and a controller appear from the flames.

I got this idea of burning the space around us so we can leave the pocket dimension after I made the crystal, though I didn't know if it would've worked or not. I wonder if I can use this as a substitute for the keys for transportation?

(Mephisto): "Oh, I forgot to give you the key to return, didn't I? Well, at least I got to see a splendid entrance like that."

Mephisto says that as he finishes the rest of the bag and wipes his face with a cloth. What good would be a key when there were no doors in the first place!

(Rin): "Yeah, and you forgot about giving us some damn food as well! But how come weren't we hungry when we were in that place?"

I say that as I feel my stomach suddenly ruptures in pain. Seriously? I haven't had food or water for almost two weeks and so have the others. The least you could've done was feed us, you shitty guardian!

Good thing I'm used to not eating for long periods of time I doubt the others are...

(Mephisto): "Yes, it was all due to the wonderful phenomenon called magic~"

Mephisto says that with jazz hands. Seriously dude?

(Rin): "Whatever, let's get out. Yukio is probably gonna kill me when I get back for missing Cram School."

I rolled my eyes at Mephisto's joke before telling Yanno to leave with us. Hopefully, Mephisto gave an excuse for our absences but I doubt he made the effort to do it.

Yanno looks at Mephisto with a thoughtful expression. I guess his past is linked to Mephisto, huh. He's already told me about his last of him being kidnapped. I wanted to burn the company into flames when I heard that but he quickly calmed me down when he said that his dad took care of it.

Though, it's strange how I can quickly have thoughts of killing humans. I guess it's because of the number of Demons I've killed that doesn't make me treat them differently.

Haah, I really have changed…
