My Life Jumping Worlds

Chapter 16 - Temporal Link.

staying at a distance, the older Subaru and I watch as the younger Subaru and the half-elf Emelia, enter a place known as The Loot House. We quickly follow to see that a woman in a black dress, carrying two daggers with strange shaping and incredibly sharp edges.

Her blades are dripping with blood, the older Subaru says, "We were too late, so we need to go back. I'll form a temporal link with you, Rem, and Crusch Karsten, along with anyone Rem has informed. Stall or kill the bowel hunter, I don't care which, this timeline is doomed without Emelia and the young me."

I frown, seeing the sick glee the woman is taking from watching the young Subaru bleed out, and I take my chance to shove my sword into her brain while she isn't paying attention.

Her eyes widen for half a moment and then dim.

I ignore the huge list of possible class upgrades to look at the dead Emelia and the bleeding out Subaru. I come up to the young version of Subaru, and ask him, "How many times have you died so far?" He says, "Twice. What the hell is going on?" He asks in an incredibly hoarse and strained voice.

The older Subaru comes up to the younger Subaru and says, "We'll explain next time. You may not be able to talk about the curse without consequence, but I have long circ.u.mvented that. We are sorry you have to die. None should have to tolerate death more than once, and none who are destined for heroism should die at all. See you on the other side."

His eyes dim and then the world starts to shred itself to pieces.

The world goes white.
