Men could only get pregnant if they shared the Mark of the Union with their partner and they could get pregnant only during a short period of time and it shouldn't have been possible before a few months so how did this man get pregnant?

Miguel then said to her so that there would be no misunderstanding between them: "Let me check that your men are okay, after all we still don't know what this bond of Dual Cultivation is really capable of and the damage that it can cause."

Esme who was still in shock at what Elias had just revealed to her was again shocked by what Miguel had just said and she then asked him, completely stunned: "Wait, Miguel, what are you talking about? Are this Mage and this fighter the ones you told me about? Are they the ones sharing the Dual Cultivation bond?"

Miguel nodded and said: "It's them, Erik, who's pregnant, is a Stage 2 Warrior Spirit and Alan, his partner, is a Mage who comes from an unusual family and who, thanks to their Dual Cultivation bond, has already managed to create an affinity with the Divine Angelic element.

But what has put your men down is their Dual Cultivation bond, it seems to be reacting to Alan's desire to protect Erik and their baby."

Erik, who was still holding Alan who was now unconscious in his arms, bowed his head and then said sincerly to Esme: "I apologise for Alan's behavior, he already tends to be overprotective, so now that he's found out I'm carrying our child, he must have panicked when he saw all these men coming towards us armed."

Elias then asked Erik as Esme seemed to be having trouble digesting all this information: "Did you see what Alan did?"

Erik nodded and said: "I didn't just see it, I felt it too... Alan connected to our bond to tap into its energy but then our bond reacted on its own when it sensed Alan's panic and it was our bond that drained Alan's energy reserve to create a kind of shockwave that pushed all these men back at once."

Miguel frowned after hearing this, but after checking, Erik was right and Alan's energy reserve was practically depleted... It was totally unthinkable... It was their bond after all and not Alan who had done this! He really thought that it was Alan who had used the energy of their bond to pushed back all Esme's guards at once, but he never thought that it could be their bond that had used Alan energy to protect them.

Erik then rummaged through Alan's clothes and pulled out his magic bag.

Alan always had all sorts of potions with him and Erik conjured up a healing potion of legendary grade and helped him drink it.

Ashton's remedy that Kevin had given him earlier should still be working so once Alan's energy reserve was full again it shouldn't be long before he regained consciousness.

Erik felt really exhausted after vomiting so much, but at least his stomach wasn't contracted like before so the pain and his stomach ache almost disappeared.

He suddenly looked up as Esme came towards them and Elias immediately joined her to protect her, just in case their Dual Cultivation bond started to act up again on its own.

When Esme asked for his hand, Erik gave it to her and fortunately their bond had returned to its original state, that of a golden rope, and had wrapped itself around them again, seemingly no longer wishing to attack anyone.

Esme listened to the heartbeat on his wrist and heard the echo of another heartbeat, weaker than Erik's but beating much faster... This boy was indeed pregnant and the only possible explanation was that the creation of this life was directly linked to their Dual Cultivation bond.

Esme then asked him: "Can you stand up? I'd like to take a closer look to see if your baby is doing well and to try to find out when the birth will take place."

Esme then said to him, when she saw him looking at Alan who was still unconscious: "You can take him with you, the room I'm taking you to rest in has a very large bed, you'll be able to lay him right next to you without any problem."

Erik nodded, but when he tried to get up and take Alan in his arms, another contraction took him and the pain was so intense that Elias had to support him for the time it lasted and when the pain subsided Elias then said to him: "Let me carry Alan, just this once, Esme absolutely has to check you and the baby as soon as possible."

Erik finally nodded and Miguel came to join them after being sure that Esme's guards had no serious injuries and that the temporary paralysis that had prevented them from getting up until now was already fading.

Miguel then asked Esme, following them: "Is it normal that Erik is already having contractions and vomiting?"

Esme then looked at him and pointed to the room closest to where they were and she said to him: "There's nothing normal about this man's pregnancy, which is why I need more time to give you a diagnosis, so please be patient.

This is the first time a man has become pregnant without the Mark of the Union and moreover, this man is a Stage 2 Warrior Spirit and it's also the first time that such a powerful Warrior has become pregnant... Usually it's their partner who gets pregnant…"

Erik then smiled and told her: "I've only recently become a Warrior Spirit, and it's been two and a half years since Alan and I are in a relationship so we haven't changed our habits, we get along very well like that."

Esme also smiled at him and said: "The Dual Cultivation bond is a very special bond, only two souls totally in harmony with each other can develop it, but it's so rare that we've never been able to study all its powers...

We've always believed that this bond prevents lovers who develop it from having children, and yet you, a Warrior at the top of the food chain, are expecting a baby... This universe always has good surprises in store for us, despite the chaos that is waiting on our doorstep."

Elias laid Alan down on the bed and said: "Indeed, this universe still has a lot to offer to us and that's why we're going to fight..."

He then looked at Erik and said: "But I'm not sure you can take part in this battle anymore..."

Esme then said, approaching Erik and putting her hand on his stomach once he gave her his tacit agreement: "There's no need to overreact, being pregnant might not stop him from being able to fight.

If he is in his early pregnancy, it's normal for him to be ill, and contrary to what you might think, just because Erik is a Warrior Spirit doesn't mean he wouldn't have some of the symptoms of someone who's pregnant."

She then explained to them: "Men could already have babies before Warrior Spirits appeared, so why should he escape all these inconveniences which never last very long by the way."

Miguel then remembered what Esme had told them about the effects he might have while he would be pregnant from Elias and he said: "When you gave us the Divine fertility potion you told us that the one who will be expecting the baby will be more vulnerable than usual.

You told us that I may have nausea and that the use of my energy reserve may be disturbed by the growth of our baby.

You also said that I could lose the baby if I get punched in the stomach or if I use too much of my energy reserve, that intense fatigue could lead to a miscarriage… Will Erik be exposed to the same effects?"

Esme then said: "That's right, Erik will be exposed to the same dangers as you when you become pregnant, except that it is less risky for him."

Elias then said: "Right, we have just seen that their bond has protected them using Alan's energy reserve and not Erik's reserve, plus Erik has an inexhaustible energy reserve when he uses his Stage 2 and if needed thanks to their bond he will be able to draw from Alan's energy reserve..."

Erik then asked them: "So if the nausea disappeared I will be able to come and fight against Diana and Lilith's army, right?"

Elias and Miguel looked at each other but they didn't know what to say.

They knew that if Alan was participating in the war, Erik would never stay behind, and they could understood that feeling but the risk of losing their baby during this battle was still high...

Esme then told them after having taking her time to observe the fetus: "Your baby is 2 weeks old and as a man you should be expecting him, or her, in two months or two and an half months at most."
