My Naughty Fake Bride

81 Playing Around

The professionals showed she had chosen another dress for her. It was a sleeveless, tight long white dress that was emphasized her curves. Sadly to wear it, she needs to also wear a body shaper so her tummy flabs won't be so embarrassing.

She could not embarrass herself because there would surely be paparazzi there.

"How is that my fault?" Jonah said before hissing out a pained breath. Han Jie rolled her eyes at his antics.

"You didn't warn me beforehand." Han Jie said before stomping out of the elevator. Well, it was not really Jonah's fault that she needed to look good. She just wanted to blame someone else since Han Jun was not around.

Jonah looked at her in disbelief but did not comment anymore and just stood away from her. At least more than an arm's reach.

It did not take long for them to get back their hotel room. Han Jie burst through the suite that immediately startled Han Jun.

Han Jun looked up, ready to blast the person who had dared barged in before seeing his cousin. He smiled brightly.

"You look almost human, Han Jie." Han Jun said brightly. Han Jie turned her head to glare at him but kept walking.

The party will start at 7:00 PM. It was still past two in the afternoon, but Han Jie was already good as prepared. That was better than her cramming later.

"You might want to watch where you're going." Han Jun said before bursting into loud, obnoxious laughter when Han Jie stumbled on nothing before her room door.

Jonah winced in before hurrying to help his little boss. Han Jie ignored Jonah's helping hand and entered her room.

"You're an a-hole JunJun. I hope you are hunted down by ghosts!" Han Jie yelled before slamming the door shut in Jonah's face.

Han Jun laughed louder.

Jonah gingerly began to walk out of the penthouse, knowing he was temporarily off duty until either Han Feng or Han Jun called him to resume.

"You, okay?" Han Jun said clearly uncaring as he read whatever contract he was reading on his tablet. However, he noticed how Jonah his rib slightly.

"She pinched me," Jonah said, walking slowly away from the suite.

Han Jun winced and rubbed absently at his ribs. "So sorry for you, man," he said, staring briefly at Jonah before going back to his contract.

"Thank you, sir," Jonah said, grateful, that was all. Han Jun usually had a lot to complain about whenever he didn't have his way.

"Oh, and Jonah?" Han Jun said, still not bothering to look at Jonah.

Jonah put his hand on the handle of the door hoping Han Jun wouldn't say anything to annoy him.

"Yes, sir?" Jonah said only partially turned to look at Han Jun.

"You can take the rest day for a few days starting tomorrow." Han Jun said dismissively.

Jonah beamed when he heard that. "Thank you, sir." He said, trying desperately to cover his excitement. That good news just made his day. It was enough to cover his nervousness for later, and he was sure that he could endure anything after.

With a bright smile, Jonah left the suite, and all he could think was he could finally sleep the next day peacefully. Without any interruption at all.

Han Jie opened her room door absentmindedly, hoping she wouldn't fall on her face courtesy of the ridiculously high shoes she had on. Han Jie felt herself walk into a wall.

'Great. Hotel renovations without me knowing.' Han Jie thought sarcastically.

"Good evening." Han Jie frowned. She heard the incredibly warm wall say from somewhere above her, but it sounds so familiar.

Han Jie took a step back, stumbled and was caught by the hands on the wall. Han Jie looked up to see Suzuki Kyou smirking at her.

"Hi?" Han Jie said, blushing as she got away from him. Was he staying in her room all this time?

'Wait! Did he see something?' Her gaze shifted around her room. It was clean, but she was still nervous when she remembered her sketchbook. 'Should I first need to worry that he is here in my room all by himself?'

"If you wanted a hug, all you had to do was ask." Suzuki Kyou said, still smiling while holding on to Han Jie.

"Er… Have you been waiting in my room for a while now?" She asked with a forced smile on her face. She was supposed to question him who let him inside her room, and have him stay there. However, Han Jie already remembered that there in the living was her cousin, carelessly reading a newspaper. 'I swear! I need to get even with him, one of this days!' She vowed silently.

He nodded, before adding, "Your cousin let me rest here."

'I knew it!' Han Jie smiled. She then asked, "Because of this, you also had the chance to sneaked behind me and to hug me?" Han Jie asked smartly.

He frowned, "No. Why would I do that?" Suzuki Kyou curtly said while releasing her.

Han Jie laughed. 'Just what master Shu would have said.' She thought ridiculously.

"Playing around." He said before flicking a finger on her forehead. It was not painful, but before Han Jie could even pretend that it hurts, he already walked to the nearest chair and sat on it.

"Are you going to wait for me? You can- are so early here. Are you my date?" Han Jie asked teasingly.

Suzuki Kyou frowned at the small stumble Han Jie but did not comment, and he just handed her a small box.

"Chocolate?" Han Jie asked, her eyes lighting up when she saw the very familiar box. However, when she looked closely, there were two boxes. One surely has her chocolate while the other looks more like a gift box.

It looked so expensive because of the smooth velvet leather.  'Okay, that looks like a jewelry box.' She thought to herself silently.

"You really love sweets." He said as he cracked a small smile before waving her on to open it the expensive-looking box.

It really has jewelry inside it. The jewelry that really caught her attention, though, was the black ring. Because it was exactly something, she envisioned wearing before.

"Wear these for later. It's our engagement ring." He finally said as he watched her expression.

Han Jie still stood there in shock. She gulped down nervously, as many things rushed inside her head. When she was calm enough, Han Jie shrugged her shoulders before saying, "I won't wear it."

"What did you say?" He asked expressionlessly. However, if Han Jie was not so shocked because of the ring, she would notice that there was an unmasked glint of coldness in his eyes.

"I'm not wearing it." Han Jie said, trying to keep a straight face. Despite saying this, she was really excited to be wearing a beautiful ring even if it didn't actually belong to her. She didn't mind. 'Borrowed only,' She justified her attitude.

"Why?" Suzuki Kyou asked intently studying Han Jie.

Han Jie suddenly felt like laughing. He hadn't even asked 'what.'

"You have to put it on, or I won't wear it." She finally said before laughing hard.

"Still playing?" He asked as he smiled at her and collected the ring from the box. He then carefully put the ring on her finger without asking or even kneeling.

Han Jie let herself laugh. Him kneeling? That would be impossible. It was still a funny idea, though. Even Master Shu would never do that for Ryu, more the human version?

Nevertheless, Han Jie was enjoying herself by just looking at the ring.

Suzuki Kyou let out an amused smile before leaning forward, and kissed her cheek. "I will see you later." He said with a smile before he turned around and left the room, leaving Han Jie dumbfounded.

Who knows how long Han Jie was dazed? It was not the first time he kissed her cheeks, but previously, she thought he only does it for others to see. 'Is he making fun of me now?' She thought to herself.

Then she remembered something important, "Shoot… I forgot to talk to him about the agreement…"
