My New Isekai!

Chapter 60 - An Unexpected Turn of Events!

Hello, my name is Kura Kazuma. I've been an adventurer ever since I was thirteen. I've had my ups and downs in missions, and even almost been killed multiple times!

Lately, though, things haven't been so good. Haru didn't leave his room ever since my dad died. Haru seemed to mourn over his death more than usual. But its perfectly understandable. My dad was a good friend to Haru and seemed to sympathise with him.

Sometimes they talked about a place called "Japan," it sounds fun, to be honest, but I'm guessing it's over where dad and Haru came from.

On the other hand, my mom, Megumin, has been distraught ever since that day when dad got killed. She tries to act like she's fine with the loss, but you can see it in her eyes that she is very depressed about his death.

I am too, though, but I just don't know how to feel about it. Having your father die suddenly isn't a trip full of sadness for me. It's a journey of confusion, misery, and all-round sorts of emotions.

But something else has been on my mind for the past few hours, where is Haru?!

Haru left earlier and had never come back. At this point, my mind started to wonder into bad places. "What if he got kidnapped?!" I yelled aloud.

"Who," mom asked me.

"Haru, of course!"

"Kura, I'm pretty sure that he will come back. It only just got nightfall."

"You're right, but I'm worried. He shut himself in his room for days, came out, and left the house without any say in where he was going...!"

"I know, Kura. But he's probably doing something to get his mind of the mess he's currently been going through. I mean, he's defeated at least three Demon King Generals so far."

"Four now, I think," said a males voice.

I turned around to see Haru standing at the door, hands covered in blood.

"What did you do exactly…?" I asked with a surprised look on my face.

"Like I said just a second ago, 'four'."

"Wait, you fought a Demon King General?!" I yelled though Haru distorted eyes.

"Yeah, pretty easy fight, though. Thought they would put more effort into killing me."

"B- w- how did you fight a General?! The sirens didn't go off!"

"I got kidnapped by people who wanted the price for my head."

"Ah, makes sen- what did you just say…?"

"I got kidnapped, killed one of my kidnappies, befriended one, fought a General, and now, no matter how many time I wash my hands, the blood will not come off."

My mom and I both had the look of surprise on our faces. ""So, you're telling us you defeated a General, by yourself might we add?!"

"Yep."

I noticed something was off with Haru, though. He didn't seem to be his normal self. So, I spoke up. "Haru, are you okay?"

"Whatever could you mean, Kura?"

"You don't seem like Haru. Usually, he has an aura of kindness around him, but now, you just have death and destruction for an aura. It scares me."

"It was that easy, huh…?"

""Huh?""

"Fine, I am not Haru. I am Jack. Some people call me 'Jack the Ripper'."

"Wait, the infamous Jack the Ripper took over Haru's body…?"

"Yes, but no. I didn't want his body. He killed me, I respect my loss. But thanks to my blood getting onto his hands, I took his vessel."

"Where is Haru, then?!?"

"Still inside, but he's dormant until I get out."

"How do we get you out??"

Jack, inside of Haru's body, lifted up his hands. "Get this blood off of him."

I went through fifteen minutes of endless thinking. This moment was the moment I became the smartest in the world: to save my friend.

Jack, on the other hand, kept washing his hands over, and over, and over again until you could see his skin start to fall off.

"Stop," I told him, not wanting Haru to be in pain when he comes back. "Wait...since you're in Haru's body, try calling out for Zim."

"Zim? You mean the thing that ended my career in being a General?"

"Yes. Zim has abilities like no one else. Try calling for him. Just say, 'Zim, come out'."

"Okay?" Jack said as he opened his mouth once again, "Zim, come out."

Zim followed Jack's command and came out, but automatically noticed something was wrong. "You're not Haru."

I intervened in between Jack and Zim's conversation. "Hey, Zim."

'Hi…?" he said with a confused look.

"Okay, Haru isn't currently available. So, we need your help."

"How so?"

"Try killing Haru's body."

Zim gave me a confused look. "You sure that's a good idea, Kura?"

"No, but it's the only thing I can think of. I'm sure Haru would be fine with it."

"Okay, wait, if I do this, I won't have control over what happens to Haru next. Got it?"

"""What do you mean?""" Jack, mom, and I said.

"He has an ability to go rampant. If things go wrong on my end and he starts sprouting black veins, run."

"What why," I asked.

"When I gave him the power to save you, I may have accidentally gave him some of my blood. Making him into a war machine."

We all gave a concerned look, and all looked at Haru's body. """He looks okay, though."""

"That's the problem. I wasn't originally like this, I was a normal human, then got turned into this by the God's misunderstanding of what I'd wanted."

"Wow."

"Yeah. But if it's to save Haru, I'm willing to risk the problem." Zim said with a face of courage.

""Okay. Do your best, Zim!!"" Megumin and I shouted out.

Zim lumped his hand into a ball and absorbed himself into Haru.
