My New Isekai!

Chapter 72 - A “Satisfying” Ending?! This Adventurer Ends his Journey with One Last Adventure! (Fina

"I'm free… I'm free…!" I shouted to myself as I was still being blinded by this light that had suddenly appeared in this dark abyss that I'd been stuck in for four years.

But, instead of being incarcerated, and instead of being reunited with a girl. Not just any girl, it was...Kura…?

"Haru, Haru!" Kura yelled out in happiness as she pulled me out into a colorful field of lively green grass and trees.

"...?"

How am I here? Didn't I get banished by God defeating me? Actually, where the hell am I?

Ignoring my questionable silence, Kura yanked her arms around my body. Making my whole body react in a sudden shiver.

"I'm so glad I can see you again, Haru…" she said, almost in sorrowful tears.

"I- how am I back, though…?" I asked, relieved to finally talk to another person.

Kura didn't answer me, though. She grabbed my wrist and brought me back to Kazuma's mansion. The mansion I left many years ago.

A tear flared up in my eye as I entered the mansion. Seeing Kazuma freaking out about absolutely nothing—or that's what it seemed.

"He's been like this ever since...look, Haru." Kura said with a really serious face, "After you were captured by the 'so-called God,' Zim came here. Right before he was banished to Hell. Almost like you, you were banished to that abyss—"

"—But, how did he get here??" I asked with a question mark forming on the top of my head (not really).

Kura never took her face off of her serious tone. Almost getting mad by me interrupting her. "Look, Haru. Zim came here because he knew he would get punished, as well. He wanted us to save you, but it would take a really powerful mage to do so. Now, because everyone basically hates my dad, I had to do it. It took time, but it was worth it in the end, huh?"

This confused me...Zim came here? How—? Wait, did she say she was a powerful mage?

"This is hurting me…" I said, rubbing the hair that had grown across my face during those years. It wasn't much, but enough that it made me look a little older, and not like a kid.

"Yeah...this is hard to put upon you—especially since you've been in there…"

"—Wait!" I yelled aloud at Kura, "What about Kazuma? What happened to him?"

"You. You're the thing that happened?"

My jaw dropped, almost like it lost the bone keeping it together.

"How...how can I fix it?!" I yelled, and finally attracted the attention of Megumin.

Once she walked into the living quarters, she gave a surprised, happy face. She then ran over to Kazuma and told him to look over at Kura and I.

He did so, but nothing changed. Kazuma's eyes were blank. Cut out by no hope at all. Probably because he lost me. (Wow, that sounds more cliche then though.)

I walked up to Kazuma, and kneeled down to where he was sitting. I then opened my mouth, and said, "Hey, buddy. Miss me that much?"

With a blank expression, Kazuma was scanning me. Trying to see if I was really, well, me.

Not being able to come up with any results—probably because he hadn't seen me in so long—he put his face the same way it was when I came into the mansion. Towards a wall with nothing but bare—actually, it was a more medieval type of color(s).

I got up from kneeled position, and a year started to form within my eyes. For some reason, this hurt...not being remembered by the one who gave me a home when I was sixteen. Kept me fed, and gave me equipment for my adventures. It must've been worse for him to know that I'd been banished.

"Come on, Kazuma...you know who I am." I said, a nervous laugh starting to form in between those words.

It didn't work, he didn't believe me. Kura, and Megumin were standing in the same room as Kazuma and I. (Shouldn't Megumin be enough for him to snap out of his trance??)

"It won't work. Once Zim disappeared, a smile went away, as well. Ever since then, he's been...this." Megumin stated, giving a depressed look towards Kazuma.

I felt a bullet pierce my still beating heart. Not a real one, but a mental one. Seeing Kura, Megumin, and Kazuma like this hurt. I ruined a whole family by past Haru being dumb.

"Guys, if I'm here, doesn't that mean I can get Zim back…? Maybe, just maybe…we'll bring Kazuma back if we show him proof it's me?"

"That might work, might not." said Kura with a sour tone in her voice, "It uses a ton of mana, and it doesn't always have a one-hundred percent chance of reaching its target. It only reached you because there was nobody else there. But...Hell…? That's a different story."

She's right. Casting forbidden magic (which I'm guessing this is) is a formidable challenge to even the greatest of mage's. The only reason mine worked was because of Zim letting me name him.

Then, an idea came to me, "What if you send me to Hell?"

"—...Are you stupid, Haru?" Kura said with a blank expression, "We just got you back, what if we lose you again?!?"

"Wherever the teleport thingy leads is going to be a sort of compass, and I'll use that compass to find, and make my way back here with Zim."

"And what if your masterful plan doesn't work?"

"Then, I'm screwed." I said, shrugging my arms, "I've been stuck in a place worse than Hell for a few years. What's heat gonna do to me? Kill me? Pfft! I'd like to see it try!"

Kura, and Megumin gave an excellent example of looking at a man who just experienced brain damage, and tried to think the next moment.

""Look, Haru."" they both said, "You just need to try and convince him until he believes it!"

"No." I said stubbornly, "I'm going to try and kill two birds with one stone here. I need to get two of my friends back with one mission: Zim, and Kazuma. Both together."

"Haru, for the last time, no!"

"Kura. You may not remember, but I one-third Demon, one-third Angel, and Human. Because of all three of those combined together, I can not only use Demon magic, Angel, and normal magic. I could help you with anything. Hell, I think I even have some of the abilities Zim had because of the blood coursing through my veins."

Kura gave an audible sigh, suggesting that my argument somehow worked on her, "Haru, fine. But, if you don't come back in one piece, I'm gonna kill you…"

"You can't kill something that's already dead…?"

Ignoring my statement, Kura grabbed my hand and dragged me outside. Towards the location I had originally come to when she summoned me here.

"We're here," she stated, staring at a rock that had a rune-like feature carved onto it.

"What are we doing here, Kura?" I asked, confusion running across my face, once again.

She didn't answer me, instead...she started chanting a spell that seemed completely different than what I'm hearing. (Here's the translated verse: "Oh, with Hell's gate been breached once before, and with the power of a simple mortal like myself. Please grant me the gift of opening a portal to your land." Doesn't make sense, right?)

After Kura chanting this for two minutes, a red portal appeared—not being the white one I had seen before.

"...Here...there's your stupid portal…" said Kura with spuratic breathing.

"Are you okay?!" I yelled out, trying to make sure that I hadn't forced her to do too much.

"...I'm fine...it's just that it takes a lot of mana, and so forth."

"Huh…" I said, trying to understand what she meant, but not understanding since I'm still not that smart.

Before pointing her finger at the red portal, she said, "Be safe out there. I really missed, and worried about you while you were gone. I'm glad you didn't die on me…"

I gave a smile towards Kura, and gave a slight hug to comfort her. Then, as I let go, said, "I'll be back, I swear!"

She gave a smile, and pushed me lightly towards the portal. I took the hint and walked inside the portal. Feeling woozy as I entered into Hell. The place that is rumored to be filled with tortured souls.

I looked around, and saw "people" walking around with shackles across their hands. Carrying stacks of large rocks, and other sorts of heavy items.

It didn't really look like the Hell I imagined, but...who am I gonna complain too??

"Wow…" I mumbled to myself, "didn't know Hell would be so...gloomy… I was expecting screams of pain, terror, but this…? This is just sad."

I shook my words off as I started looking closely at the surrounding people. None of them looked like Zim. I mean, of course. Zim has abilities like no other. They would keep him locked up?

Still thinking this, I used my Foresight ability. I looked around, trying to find any sight of where Zim could be. But, surprisingly, my anime-like luck must've run out. Damn it.

Then, I found a place that looked different than all the others; a cross that sat inside a huge fire ring. Covered by large amounts of guards.

"Cha Ching!" I yelled, pumping myself for my great luck. "Thank you, anime powers. I shall not take you, and make the clue you gave me go in vain!"

—Who am I talking to?

I started walking towards the cross I found, gaining distance at a fast pace because of some unknown reason. I didn't mind, though. Less time working on my legs I haven't used in a good bit.

"You. You with the bearded face!" a guard said, talking to me..?

"Yeah?" I said, responding to him, wondering what I did wrong.

"Are you a prisoner here? Or, are you here to see the tourist attraction?"

"Tourist attraction?" This place gets tourists?!

"Tourist." I said, hoping my luck would carry me through this place.

"...Okay, follow me." the guard said, turning his back towards me.

I complied, and walked through a little entrance area. Inside, I saw people cluttering around one specific location.

I heard a grovely voice say, "No. I am waiting for my one true master. The one who has taught me many types of magic, and one that has brought me on adventures. So, no. I shall not help you with my body."

It said this over, and over again. Then, it clicked that it was a voice recording being played continuously.

I walked up to the crowd of people, and my head started to get a little fuzzy. Like, someone could feel me as soon as I got within a certain range.

"...Master?! Master!" a voice said, clearly talking to someone.

I cleared my head, and looked back up at the crowd. All their heads turned in the direction of me.

"Haru...is that you?!" the voice said, somehow knowing my name.

"...Wait...Zim, is that you!?"

"Yes. Yes! I've been waiting for you years, now!"

Before I could say anything else, I heard people coming from behind us, yelling, "You. Stop what you're doing!"

"Haru! Come over, now!" Zim yelled as the guards from behind us got closer.

I came closer to Zim, just like he asked, and yelled, "What the hell do I do?!"

"Touch my hand!" Zim yelled, reaching his arm out as far as he possibly could go.

I reached my hand towards Zim's, soon touching each other, barely.

A black flash went throughout the large room we were located in. Causing more pain on my body than surprise.

Soon enough, the flash went away, and Zim was nowhere to be seen. But, I didn't have time to dwindle on that fact. I had to run away from these people that were gaining close distance on me.

Hoping that this would work, I yelled out in desperation, "Interdimensional Teleport!"

A portal opened up, and s.u.c.k.e.d me inside, causing me to do flips. Both forwards, and backwards.

But, it only happened for a matter of seconds before I reached the same grassy green field I had been in when I first teleported. Kura was sitting there, chilling inside the grass when I first went through.

"You're back?!" she said, getting out of her comfortable position she had been in.

"Yeah, and I'm pretty sure Zim's in here, too." I said, knocking on my skull.

Zim approved of this statement because he came out of my body in a physical appearance. Once I'd not seen before.

Instead of a little kid, it was now a teenage guy. It startled me, if I'm being honest.

"Zim…" Kura said, "thank you!"

"For what, now?"

"Telling me I could save Haru, and because of that, you're here, too. Maybe you'll be able to bring my dad back to his senses."

"Your dad? Kazuma? What's wrong with him?!" Zim yelled out, in actual confusion.

"We got no time to explain," I exclaimed. "Let's try to get to Kazuma, now!"

""Good idea, Haru."" said Zim and Kura with a thumbs up.

We ran into Kazuma's mansion, and saw Kazuma sitting down at the same table he'd been at before.

Zim and I walked up to him, "Kazuma," I said, "it's us, Haru, and here's Zim."

He faced towards the two of us, the same blank expression that had been there when I first arrived.

I saw a slight glimmer shine in the reticles of his eyes. "H- Ha..ru? Zi..m?"

""Yes! It's us, Kazuma!""

After standing there for five minutes, light finally came back to Kazuma's eyes. "Haru, Zim?!"

"Yes!" Zim yelled in accomplishment.

"Enough with this, I'm glad you're back, guys. But, skipping all the typical cliche things that happen in this reunion, we should talk about how you guys plan on going on."

"Yes. We were going to take out God a few years back, but now, after receiving that endless punishment...I don't want to do it anymore."

"Sounds like you, Haru." Kazuma said with a slight smirk.

"I don't know how I should fe—"

"Haru Evans. Accused of killing multiple angels, carrying demonic and angelic powers, cutting through Heaven's barrier, and fighting God."

A voice came from behind us. It said those words, and my blood ran cold.

I turned around, and saw three types of enemies: assassins, demons, angels.

Zim gave an annoyed sigh. "Bro, we just got our reunion! Can't you assholes wait a goddamn minute?!"

"""Come out, and surrender, or fight and lose.""" all three of the enemies leaders stated.

I stepped forward, and Kazuma, Kura, and Megumin did, as well.

"Hold up, guys. Especially you, Megumin."

"""Why?""" the three people from the family asked.

"...I want Kura to come out with us."

Kura gave a surprised hiccup. "Really?"

"You said you unlocked some sort of magical mage?"

"...Sure…?"

"Great. Let's eff this guys over." I said, hitting my fist into my other hand, getting ready to fight these weird creatures.

We walked outside, and looked at each other. All three of us nodded and headed for our respected pile of enemies: Zim being Angel (what's left of them), Kura is the Assassins, and me, the Demons are my target.

I gave a twisted smile, and said, "Demons' King."

All of the Demons that we're gathered around me suddenly dropped all of their weapons, and waited for my command.

"Hmm...kill yourself, you Demons."

They did so, and picked up their weapons off from the ground. Then, they all sliced their neck with them. Making quite the bloody scene.

I looked at Kura and Zim. Both of them doing well against their opponents, but I saw a person coming from behind, and trying to slash their sword down on Kura.

Quickly, I yelled, "Time Stop!" (Za Warudo!) and time stopped. Making the sword that beings slashed down stop in midair.

I walked to the man holding the sword, and ripped it out of his hands.

"Hey, Zim."

"Yes, Haru?"

"You know what my favorite anime used to say?"

"What'd it say?" Zim said, genuinely curious.

" 'Don't start a fight if you can't end it,' don't you agree with this statement, Zim?"

"Yeah, I find it pretty good."

I gave a peace sign up in the air, "Thank God for One Piece, then. Well, this man started a fight and wouldn't be able to win. Want to know the punishment for this?"

"What is it?"

"Not killing him. But, knocking his stupid self out." I said as I hit the person with the b.u.t.t of the sword handle, hard enough to cause a ton of damage whenever time unfreezes.

"You got three more seconds, Haru."

"Just end it now, man."

Time unfroze, and the man who tried slashing the sword on the back of Kura fell to the ground with his nose bleeding. Maybe I hit him too hard?

The fight ended shortly after, though. Not being that exciting.

We headed back inside the mansion, and a crazy idea popped up inside my head.

I walked up to Kura, and bowed down to her, and said, "Kura, can you be my wife?"

"Excuse me what?" Kazuma said, his face getting twisted with animosity, "You have the audacity to leave for four years and ask my daughter to marry your ass?!"

"Yes, sir! I love you daughter. No. I love Kura."

Kazuma's face scrunched up in a cringe, "That's...some special type of cliche cringe types."

"I know. But who cares?"

"I do!" Kazuma yelled out in anger.

"Fine. Kazuma, may I marry your daughter?"

"I-n-sure…"

"Good. Now," I said, turning back to Kura, "will you be my wife?"

Kura gave a sign, and said, "Yes, but you ever do some stupid shit again, and I divorce your a.s.s."

"That's a big deal!" I said, "I'll get you your ring soon enough."

Kura gave a smile, whilst Kazuma was freaking out about saying "sure" to my question. Score: Haru Evans wins against Satou Kazuma for once.

With that being said, this has been quite fast. Dealing with the enemies quickly. It doesn't seem like the anti-climatic ending I was expecting, to be honest.

That out of the way, though. Nothing important happened to us for a few years. We had a kid named "Kasachi Evans." He's a boy.

I'm now twenty seven. Feeling old because I've been here for only eleven years, and have had many strange adventures. Kura and I are happy with our life. More or less.

There's only one thing wrong with our Kasachi…he took some of my genes. Which means he's part Demon. Ignoring that—for the most part. I've been feeling well. Nothing wrong with my health, and Kura's health, too. I'm very thankful for that.

I guess this is the end, though. The end of this being my new isekai.
