My New Life In Another World

Chapter 12 - Outcome

After some time Zander started to regain consciousness.

He was lying face down on the floor. He started to get up but it was harder than he thought.

His head was throbbing, like someone was hitting it with a hammer, his mouth had a bitter taste and every muscle of his body were burning, almost as if he had a fever.

'Urghh... where am I?'

He started to look around, trying to figure out what happened with him. He noticed that the ground below him was shinning, close to him was a tunnel and in the opposite direction was a pair of silver doors.

'Ah yes, the Mid-Boss.'

Remembering what happened, Zander relaxed knowing that fow now, nothing would happen to him.

Although the Guild wasn't able to provide information about the monster that he would face, Zander still was able to acquire information about the [Boss Room].

The [Boss Room] was a unique place that can be only four times in every dungeon, with a equal number of floors between them, thus in every Beginner Dungeon it can only be found every five floors. Inside the [Boss Room] is a monster, stronger than all the previously found on the dungeon, serving as a guardian to the next section of the dungeon. This monster is usually known as the Mid-Boss.

Once the Mid-Boss was defeated a new one would not appear until a the adventurers inside left and a small area in front of the passage leading to the next floor would start to shine. The shinning area is known as [Checkpoint]. Adventurers that advance until one of the [Boss Room], when they return to the same dungeon, have the choice on the entrance teleport to an area of the [Boss Room] that was conquered, the [Checkpoint].

Remembering what he learned about the [Boss Room], Zander sight moved to the head of the Mid-Boss that he defeated.

Usually the Mid-Boss is a type of monster that cannot be found in the previously sections of the dungeon, but there are cases that, instead of a new monster, the one that would appear is a rare variation of the monsters previously fought. Remembering that.

'Variation my a.s.s, that thing was a mutant.'

Zander was didn't knew how much time had passed since he conquered the [Boss Room] and he didn't care, at that moment all he wanted was for his headache to dessapear.

It took some time but Zander headache decreased enough to be able to think clearly again, that was when he finally noticed the messages in front of him.

[Zander has been poisoned.]

[Zander leveled up.]

[Zander has conquered his first [Boss Room] alone. For being able to kill your first Mid-Boss alone the EXP earned was multiplied by 5.]

[Tittle unlocked: [Lone Warrior]]

Reading the messages, Zander was able to understand what happened. Whatever that monster spitted on him was poisoned, and what he was feeling were the side effects.

He also got curious about his current situation.

====================

After he analysed his current status, Zander felt very conflicted.

The good news were that his [Apprentice Swordsman] job had leveled up up and as a result he gained a new skill and he was able to acquire his first title.

The bad news were that now his condition had suffered a strong blow. He was poisoned, which, according to the system, was weaking his attributes with the margin of thirty percent.

There was many things that Zander needed to do, but right now he decided that was best to simple go back to Enek City. He wasn't confident that with his current condition he would be able to gather many materials and he was still feeling very tired, so it was best to just return.

Having decided what to do, Zander went to gather the severed head, to serve as proof that he was able to conquer the first [Boss Room] of the Beginner Dungeon.

After putting the head in a sack that he brought with him, tied behind his back, Zander started to concentrate on the entrance of the dungeon and, like he learned in the Guild, he said the necessary words to be transported.

"Transfer."

He expected that something like in a game would happen, he would shine and them disappear, his body would be undone into particles of light and be reformed on the entrance. Instead, it was as if he had just blinked.

One second, he was on the [Boss Room]. The other, he was outiside.

The first thing that caught his attention was the sky. It was dark and the stars were shinning.

'So I was knocked out for the rest of the day.'

The information only served to annoy him even more. He wanted to first go to the Guild and deliver the head to immediately raise his rank, but since it was already night, Zander decided to go directly to his Inn. Zander wanted to avoid the scenario of him be attacked by a group of bandits and having to fight for his life when he is weakened or lose everything that he currently have.

Feeling irritated that nothing went as he expected this day, Zander went back to Enek City.
