The next day.

Long Yu woke up early and headed out alone with the Black Shark to scout the site. As expected, the vampire plant had turned into a mountain of ashes after being lit with fire. It was fortunate that the body of the plant dried up after it died, making it easier to burn.

Before he returned, he stopped along the way and opened the system panel.

"System, I want to modify the Black Shark. Show me the list of modifications available," he instructed the system.

Long Yu then willed the system to select the special modification he wanted.

"Confirm," he nodded in acknowledgment.

One of the issues he always wanted to deal with, was the lack of space to store resources collected outside the system.

For instance, the large amount of mutant meat they harvested previously had no proper place to be stored. Even when the backseats and trunk of the Black Shark were filled to the brim, there were still excess.

If they were to collect other important resources in the future and had no place to store it, that would be unfortunate.

By making this exchange, Long Yu would also be able to solve another restriction.

At the moment, Long Yu could not retrieve the Black Shark into the system due to all the mutant meat that were in it. This limited his options when searching for places to stop by, as he needed to park the vehicle close to them.

Furthermore, if they ever needed to go to a place that could not be accessed by vehicle, they might be forced to leave it behind.

During the few moments that he was distracted by his thoughts, the system had completed the modification.

Although there did not seem to be any changes to the vehicle's appearance, Long Yu knew it was a success.

He excitedly boarded the Black Shark and checked the screen on the dashboard. At the bottom, a stylish symbol of a white crate had been added to the interface.

As his index finger touched the symbol, a live 3D image showing the interior of the vehicle was projected on the screen.

In the image, a silver grey disk seemed to be glowing on the trunk area.

As if it was magic, all the boxes were silently s.u.c.k.e.d into the disk, which was presumably the mouth of the storage dimension.

On the dashboard screen, the image transitioned into a white semi transparent cube. Inside, mini scaled models of the portable freezers could be seen.

Next to the cube was a percentage bar, with fifteen percent filled.

Long Yu did a few more tests by placing other objects into the storage. As expected, the percentage bar would increase with each item placed in it.

He was quite satisfied with the exchange. Although it was not as convenient as storage rings or belts, there is more space inside the dimension, allowing him to place larger items if needed.

After returning, Long Yu alighted the Black Shark and entered the RV.

Xixi laid on the bed spread out like a starfish, causing him to chuckle at her sleeping posture. He shook his head and went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast.

"Nnn?"

"Oh sorry, did I wake you?" Long Yu, who was opening a packet of breadsticks turned around and said.

"No, no, I was going to wake up anyway…" The girl quickly waved her hands and said.

She secretly felt ashamed, as she had promised herself not to overstay her welcome. Perhaps it was because she was too occupied with various thoughts last night, Li Xue Lan somehow forgot to refuse his offer to stay for another night in the RV.

"Than- thank you for letting me sleep here again," she quickly expressed her gratitude.

"Don't worry about it," Long Yu smiled and went back to cooking.

'This girl is a little too courteous…' he silently thought to himself.

From his understanding of her personality the past couple of days, he found that she was an overly polite and reserved person, innocent even.

However, people of such personality were less likely to stab you in the back. They would often think about others first before themselves. Therefore, Long Yu did not mind letting a person like her stay in the RV.

"We'll be leaving the city after breakfast, so you should pack up whatever you need. We won't be using the RV but the armoured vehicle instead," he reminded her.
