Before Rhett landed and collapsed half of the palace, he remembered to catch Grieve with his claws. Luckily, Robert drove everyone out of the palace, so no one was injured.

Alex landed next to Rhett, thinking the dragon enforcers would catch them at any moment. They looked at the broken golden palace, which reminded them of the gift they had made for Slair, a golden castle, still on them. So Alex took it out of his space pouch and placed it gently next to the palace.

The gorgeous golden castle and the two dragons, blue and red, completely caught everyone’s eyes. Using the body as a medium to channel large amounts of elements could take a massive toll on one’s body, and the fire element was known for its destructiveness. Grieve felt his body was crushed from top to bottom. Still, fortunately, he got closer to the fire element and could easily feel those active red dots around him.  Slair came to his side and looked after him. The crowd looked at his black hair and green eyes, confused– From his appearance, he should be that “son” of Robert, however he was begging for rain on the back of the blue dragon and acted close to the dragons…

「Slair.」Grieve held his hand, raised it up, and introduced him to his people,「He is Slair the Dragonmaw, the miracle envoy, the son of the dragons, and my best friend!」

The crowd cheered once more. The people of Klein believed their prince and what they had witnessed. The priests in Perl got forward with great excitement and offered them a bunch of twin lotus. Then the people ran home, took all the yellow twin lotuses they could find and piled them reverently at their feet. The celebration lasted several days in the city. The priests opened the lotuses ponds to the public, and people could pick the lotuses for free.

So, around the third day, Perl had a sudden wave of proposals. Many young men held pink twin lotuses and sang to the girls. Slair watched the frenzy from the balcony of the golden castle. He just received a notice from Mags that the punishment for his dragon daddies was still up in the air, but whatever it might be, it would be served after 100 years of imprisonment, which means they wouldn’t have to worry about separation for a while.

He happily gave the blue and red dragons a kiss on their scales. Just then, Slair saw Grieve was surrounded by a group of older women holding pink twin lotus.

「Your Highness! Your Highness! Do you remember us?」

「You are…You are from my mother’s palace.」

「Oh my! We all look so old, and Your Highness still remember us!」Women pushed each other for a while, 「Your Highness has all grown up, the king and the queen in heaven will be so happy! Your Highness, have you married yet?」

「No… No way. I swore an oath to stay away from women until I had my revenge.」Habitually, Grieve said his refusal statement.

「Ah, wonderful! It is time for Your Highness to get married now that you have your revenge! Do you have a girl in mind? We know all the good girls in Perl!」

「I…About that…No…」Grieve stepped back as his face turned burning red.

The women compared the twin lotuses for a while, placed the largest pink twin lotus in Grieve’s hand, and patted him on the shoulder encouragingly「Your Highness, you look like you have a sweetheart in mind, go, tell her! I wonder who is that lucky girl!」

Grieve froze in place, watching them disperse like the wind. He stared down at the pink twin lotus in his hand and felt it weighed a thousand pounds.

Sweetheart.

His heart beat faster when the term was mentioned. The men’s singing was dancing by his ears, the entire city felt so pink. There was no doubt he had a sweetheart, but he was afraid to watch, to think– Because if he said he had a sweetheart, it could only be that person who had silky black hair, mischievous green eyes, a magical throat, powerful magic and endless fantasy- Slair.

Just saying that name in his mind, his heart beat faster. It wasn’t that he didn’t understand. As soon as he had those lustful desires for Slair, he wanted to shake them off. But even suppressing them with that blue potion, he had sinned- He had rejoiced in that man’s joy, grieved for that man’s sorrow. If Slair ever asked anything from him, he wanted to get things ready before he said a word. He secretly wanted to be the only one in Slair’s eyes; he wished Slair would stay by his side forever- But how selfish.

He hid his sin from Slair, who still thought their feelings were pure friendship. That was wrong. He had traded deceit for Slair’s aid and companionship. He squeezed the twin lotus tightly in his hand- he should confess all of these to his friend and bear Slair’s wrath.

Slair returned to his room when he saw Grieve take that pink twin lotus. He flopped down on the bed, clutching a dragon-tail-shaped pillow depressively, and bit on the tip of the dragon tail in anger– The day had come, but he never thought it would be this soon. Among the wild humans, Grieve Klein had long since reached the age of marriage. Now, he was no longer bound by his vows. Slair could imagine Grieve holding a girl in his hand and carrying a baby in his arms, and it made his heart feel as bitter as if it had been stuffed with many lotus seeds.

There were groups of young men singing love songs outside the windows. However, he could hear one voice louder and clearer than others- Grieve’s voice, he joined them. When Slair heard Grieve use his wonderful voice sing, 「I have a girl living in my heart. Her eyes were like the stars in the sky…」That voice was so melodious that it sounded mixed with love that was soaked in honey a million times.

Slair buried his face deep in the pillow and cried in anguish.

Grieve finished the most popular love song in Perl. He recalled that Slair was standing on the balcony, but now he was gone. Did he figure something out?

""

For the first time, this brave warrior had fear. But he stepped into the golden castle anyway- He had to tell Slair everything. Whatever the consequences were, he deserved it. But his footsteps were unusually slow and gentle. He dawdled for a long time before finally reaching Slair’s room. Grieve knew Slair was in there. He raised his hand and was about to knock on the door, but the hands that could shoot at the dragons without hesitation stopped.

When it’s all said, it will be the end, right? Grieve thought, Slair will kick me out and ask me never to appear again. He will step on my lotus and perhaps beat me up a bit.

So, let me stand here for a little longer, just a bit longer. Grieve clutched the lotus in his hand. O mighty Dragon God, I should not hide from my sins, but please forgive me and give me a little more time.

Through the door, he pictured what Slair was doing– Slair must be smiling right now, but I’m about to break his smile.
