My Sunshine: Glad To Find You

Jessica and John took a seat and were conversing casually about their education and work experience. She asked him more about the conference. The meeting so far was not as awkward as they had anticipated it to be. Everything was going on smoothly.

The server entered the room ready to take the order. They ordered some light brunch and got back into their conversation about life abroad. Jess was smiling and they had a good conversation.

'I didn't expect dad to set me up with such a good person. He is handsome, smart and intelligent and he achieved merit abroad. As far as I remember, he managed the subsidiary branch of the World Co. maybe he is still working in the same company.'

"Mr. Parker, I remember you got an award when you were working in the subsidiary of the World Co., now I am working in the main branch, is there any possibility that u are working there? I never interacted with anyone other than the ones in my team so I have little knowledge" Jess said with a sheepish smile.

"..." John was tongue-tied for a while

'How am I supposed to say that I am your freaking boss, whom you just called a workaholic. It is definitely my fault for not interacting with my employees. What will I say to her now?'

After thinking about it for a while he said, "Yes, I was working and managing a subsidiary and abroad and was promoted to work here. I work in the main branch office"

Jess was happy. "Its good then We can see each other more often then"

John was very happy thinking about what she had just said. She wanted to meet him more often, does this mean she liked him? It was too early to like him romantically but liking him as a person was enough to boost his motivation.

"Hmm. We will definitely see each other more" John was already thinking about ways to make her see more of him.

While they were quietly having their brunch, a soft knock on the door caught their attention.

They looked towards the door and saw their fathers were standing at the door.

Lincoln: "Hello dear, hello John. I hope we didn't disturb you guys"

George: "We can just move out if you want us to"

Jess and John stood up and walked towards them.

Jess: "Hello uncle George. How are you?"

George: He was impressed by her manners."I am doing well"

After some small talk, he asked her if she liked John.

Jess was a little embarrassed. She didn't know how to answer uncle in front of the man in question.

Lincoln understood her hesitation and signaled his friend to stop teasing her daughter.

They started laughing. John then greeted Lincoln and said him that they didn't interrupt anything.

The fathers could not back their curiosity and finally one of them said,

Lincoln: "What you think about your engagement? Are you ready for it? We can do it today itself?"

George: "Yes I see that you guys are quite compatible with each other. It should not be a problem to get engaged now. We will set a later date for marriage."

Seeing the eagerness in both their eyes, Jess could not bring herself to say anything.

John somewhat understood her feelings.

"Dad, Uncle I think it is too early to get engaged now. This is the first time we are meeting each other, so I think it is a bit early to about these things"

"No. You know nothing about these matters. You both can get engaged first, I am not asking you to get married now" George could not stop himself from saying this.

"Yes. I think getting engaged should not be a problem. What about you go out and talk about this matter more clearly?" Lincoln supported George's decision and urged them to think more about the matter.

"Yes. I think we should talk more about it" Jessica looked at John and asked him, "Should we go out?"

John could only nod his head in approval and follow her out of the room.
