My Sunshine: Glad To Find You

Jessica kept the final bowl of dishes on the living space as everyone was to stay there. John handed her a wet towel to wipe her hands.

"Thank you." She wiped her hands and returned him the towel.

Having finished all the work, John removes his apron. His apron was a simple black colored one.

Jessica saw him remove the remove it and her eyes never left his body. He was wearing a fitted blue t-shirt. The apron blocked her vision before, now those abs were slightly visible. Jess swallowed some saliva.

'Oh, my God! Those buns look good. Does he work out?'

John saw her staring his 'buns'. He cleared his throat and was about to say something when,

'Ding - Dong, Ding - Dong'

Jess woke up from her reverie when he cleared his throat.

'Now I am gone. He will tease me to the end.' She was praying to the gods to help her. She was lucky that the bell rang that instance. She sighed relief and thanked the gods to listen to her prayers.

John: "I think they are here. You should sit down, I will the door."

'Jess do not celebrate so early. I will get back to you later.' He smiled mischievously and went to open the door.

Liam and James were standing in front and behind them, Raya was talking to a girl. She looked familiar but he could not remember her.

John: "Hello you must Jess's friend." He asked Rose.

Rose: "Hello, I am Rose Baker. I am Jess's friend." She introduced herself and shook his hands.

John: "Nice to meet you. She is inside." He turned towards others and ignored their surprised gaze. "Come on inside everyone."

James and Liam brought some boxes of beer. It shocked them to see a beautiful lady sitting on the sofa and choosing which song to play.

John went near her and gestured to turn around. She saw him and turned to see his friends.

John: "So everyone, meet Jessica. She is my fiancee."

Jess smiled shyly on hearing the word 'fiancee' and greeted him.

John's friends were shocked. They could not believe what they were listening to.

Jess when saw Rose among them, went towards her, and pulled and brought her in front of John.

Jess: "Rose meet my fiance, John." She looked at him, "This is Rose, she is more than a best friend of mine."

When Rose suddenly remembered something, she widened her eyes in surprise.

'It was him. He helped us that night.' Rose thought. She wondered if Jess already knows about this.

'I need to ask her after a while about this.'

Raya was the first one to recover from the shock they received after John mercilessly dropped the bomb. She was happy that he finally found someone.

Raya: "Hello Jessica, my name is Raya. It is good to know that you are with John. We never imagined that he would directly aim for marriage before getting himself a girlfriend."

John smiled nervously and didn't say anything. Liam and James came back to earth after hearing Raya speak. They introduced themselves and then everyone sat on the sofa and put on some music.

The atmosphere was very lively. Raya and James told Jess about how they met John and how cold his personality is. Jessica could not imagine that he was that cold to others. He was very warm towards her. She only cared about the side he showed her. She would see that for later what would happen if he was ever cold to her.

On the other side, Rose was happily telling Liam and John about Jess's childhood stories.

After chatting for a while, they opened the beer and cheered the new couple and wished them happiness. They took turns and sang songs.

An hour had passed, Liam and Raya were fighting over the next song. Jess was happy to meet his friends and liked their company. Rose saw this an opportunity to talk to Jess alone. She pulled the sleeves of Jessica's dress and whispered into her ears, asking her to take her to washroom. Jess nodded and asked the way to washroom from John and went with her.

Once they were alone, Rose could not hold back any longer.

Rose: "Jess did you already know that he was the one that day?"

Jess blinked her eyes and didn't reply to her,

Rose: "The day when that psycho attacked us..."

Jess: "That guy..."
