My Sunshine: Glad To Find You

'Splash'

Jess chuckled. John's eye widened in surprise. She had just flicked the paintbrush in front of him, his clothes had a splatter of color.

He rushed forward and tried to paint her cheek. She ran away from him and evaded it.

"You won't be able to run away from me," John shouted.

"He-he... You need to first catch me." They were now facing each other. There was a table in between them.

A few hours ago,

"John, see this, what do you think about this theme for the room? I really love this theme for the study and this furniture to go along with it." Jess excitedly showed him the catalogs.

"Hmm, I like this design and theme. Let us finalize it."

Jess had many piles of catalogs and brochures around her. Many pages were marked using sticky notes. She had spent a lot of time selecting themes and furniture for each room.

She enthusiastically showed it to John and finalized the design plan.

"Since it is all decided, I will call the interior decorators tomorrow, they will finish it." John took out his cellphone to call his assistant.

"Stop-" Jess took his cellphone and ended the call.

John raised his eyebrows, he waited for her to continue.

"It is our home, why should others paint it for us? I want us to work together on it. Please." Jess expectantly looked at him with her 'puppy dog' eyes.

He gave in and agreed to it. Jess jumped in joy and hugged him.

"Thank you so much. Let us go and bring the colors for the first room."

They went to Loew's, the biggest retail store which sells all the home improvement supplies. Jess and John looked around the place and bought all the necessary supplies.

After having lunch, Jess chose the first bedroom to start the work. This room was Jessica's personal space. The theme for the room was sunrise. On entering the room, there was a large window on the left, to the right side a large shelf and a bed in between the two. Jess loved reading books in her free time, so she wanted to add a sitting arrangement near her window.

The room was to be painted with a beautiful pastel lime yellow. John poured some paint on the tray and Jess brought in other tools to start the work.

It was a fun activity for them. They were doing this for the first time, so they watched some online tutorials to get the basic ideas and then start the work.

Jess was done with her side of the room. She turned to see John,s progress. He was about to finish soon. She went beside him.

"Let me help you with it."

"Oh, okay sure." He moved aside and gave her some space.

She started painting, but a mischievous thought came to her mind.

"Hey, John look at this."

"Hmm," As soon as he turned to face her;

'Splash' She splattered the paint on him.

She giggled and enjoyed her act. He started chasing her.

"You won't be able to run away from me," John shouted.

"He-he... You need to first catch me." They were now facing each other. There was a table in between them.

John showed her that he was going on the left side but eventually went towards the right.

Jess was deceived by his actions and ultimately got caught.

He held her tightly in his arms. He turned her around and wrapped his arms around her. He was behind her.

Jess tried moving around and jumping.

"Leave me. Please. I am sorry I will not do it again."

"Heh, you will be punished first."

He painted her cheek with color and released her.

"Done! You look beautiful, you know." His eyes were shining.

Her lips curled downward, "You..."

Jess dipped her hands in paint and left one imprint on his shirt and another on his face.

"Ha! Take this."

After fooling around for a while, they completed the work in the first room and ended the work for the day.
