My Sunshine: Glad To Find You

The birds were chirping and rays of sunlight entered the room. John stirred from his sleep. He turned around to face away from the window and felt that something was hugging him. He placed his arms around it and hugged it back. Slowly he opened his eyes and realized who it was. He happily closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep again.

Last night,

After finishing the renovations of the place and setting up the place Jess, as promised, started staying together with John. After having dinner together, they bid each other goodnight and went into their respective rooms.

John moved into the second room for the time being as he didn't want to move into the master bedroom without her. Jess moved into her room and got into the sheets ready to sleep. She closed her eyes, turned from one side to another, changed pillows but could not sleep. She turned on her bedside lamp and took out a book to read. After reading for nearly an hour, she felt bored but still not sleepy.

'Ughhh! What is wrong with me, why can't I sleep?' frustratedly she got out of the bed.

She softly opened the door of her room and walked out. She went downstairs and poured herself a glass of water to calm her nerves. On her way back to her room, she saw that the door of John's room was left ajar.

'The door is left open. There is no harm in peeking.' She giggled and very carefully peeked inside.

There she saw that John was topless and he was wearing sleeping shorts. The blanket covered half of his body and most of it was on the floor. Jess shook her head and tip-toed towards the bed. She saw that he was fast asleep. Jess pulled the blanket and covered him properly. She fixed her gaze at his peaceful expression. The sharp nose and the straight jaw looked more prominent at the time. She left the room and went back to her room.

This time she could not help but think about their kiss. After tossing and turning for some time, Jess got up, took her pillow with her and went to John's room.

'Since I can't sleep alone, I will try to sleep here.' She decided to wake up early and go back to her room. Thinking that her plan was well thought of, she put down her pillow and got inside the sheets.

As if that was all she was waiting for, as soon as she closed her eyes, she fell asleep. In her dreams, she saw that there was a giant teddy bear beside her. She happily hugged it and slept peacefully.

Jess tried to move her arms but was unable to do so. She frowned in her sleep and slowly opened her eyes. She saw that she was caged in his arms with no room to escape. She cursed herself for such a stupid idea. Jess, having left with no other choice, tried to remove his arms and legs without waking him up. It turned out to be a challenge for her. It was impossible to leave without waking him up.

From the moment Jess stirred in her sleep, John was awake.

'Let's see how you run away from me after secretly coming in tomorrow.' John kept his eyes closed and waited for her to do something.

As Jess tired to remove his arms, he frowned and pulled her even closer. She could only curse her bad luck and do nothing about it.

She finally gave up and decided to wake him up. She sweetly called out his name and poked his cheek.

"Good morning. Get up, we need to go to work. We will be late if we waste more time here."

John could not hold himself back and starts laughing. He kissed her on the forehead and finally let her go. She was surprised.

"You..."

"Hahaha. I am sorry. I was awake for a while. I feel good that you came here."

"Hey. Do not be mistaken. It is just that your room was a little too dark, so I came to help you. You do not know that you had a frown on your face while you were sleeping yesterday. No one appreciates good intentions nowadays." She got out of bed.

John smiled, "Indeed. Thank you for your concern."

"See you downstairs. I will prepare something for breakfast." Jess felt the room in a hurry.

John continued to laugh and felt happy that she on her own took this step to get closer to him. With a big smile on his face, he got up and got ready for work.
