My Swarm Academia: Call Of The Void

Everyone jumped. It couldn't have been much more than half an hour since they had arrived at the room themselves, and Kai had had some neurotoxin. He was pale and using the case that contained his swords as a crutch, but he was upright.

"Sorry I'm late, but I needed to change, and the boys found it a little awkward to carry me without the chariot," Kai said with a smile. He awkwardly hobbled over to the teacher's podium and pressed buttons on it until the columns on the wall opened for him to put his gear back. That accomplished, he pushed it back in and just sat on the floor.

"Kai, are you really going to do that? The floor is dirty," Ayako scolded.

"I don't know if you remember this, but I mostly grew up outside of Japan. I've slept on dirt, under bridges, and outside in a storm, once. This floor is perfectly fine. Besides, they've already seen me lie down on it, so they won't mind this," Kai said. "So, you told them everything?"

"Everything I know. Why is it that you won't tell me more?"

"Because you're better off not knowing the specifics until we all are a lot stronger. That's enough to know how serious things are."

Kai looked around the room. Already people were backing away.

"So, I guess you guys don't want to go do some karaoke? Pity, I can do a mean Elvis impression."

"I've heard you sing that around the house. It's annoying, and your translation makes no sense half the time. Is this really the time for jokes?"

"Everyone's scared of someone who wants to be their friend. I think it's the perfect time for a little joke."

"Both of us just told them you have people eaten!"

"Just bad people! And I've decided not to do it mu- again. Humans, bad for the liver!" he proclaimed with a wink.

"Not okay!"

"But it's true! Arachne says human essence is a mess! She hates it, generally, but she is intrigued by Quirks," he said, turning to the class. Ayako kicked him in the shins, triggering a look of mock hurt.

��Hey, I've been poisoned today, can't you take it easy on me?"

"You. Have. Terrified. Everyone!" she shouted, emphasizing every word with a kick. "And. You. Hurt. All. Might! And. You. Are. Laughing!"

"Oh, come on, it's not that bad. I'm going to talk to the principal, and to him, and come to a compromise. I'll give him the antidote to my psychological poison, and make sure that nobody can use that weakness against him again. He'll be fine. A bit of compensation and compassion and they won't mind today's little incident. Oh, and here is your remote," he said, casually tossing it up.

"There is so much wrong with how you are belittling the situation."

"But it is little to me. They're not going to risk letting the herald of the apocalypse run out of their control. Now that I'm here, I'm their problem, and if I cause trouble to the rest of the world, it's on their heads. Heh, I can blackmail them just by existing!" Kai said with a mischievous grin. Ayako kicked him again, this time with a bit of Quirk force, to his hip.

"Both of them are him," she said without looking away from kicking Kai repeatedly. "As long as nothing is wrong, the demon lord becomes this joking idiot."

"Thank you for calling me a demon lord. Much more accurate than just being a monster or demon- OW!! Come on, everything is going according to plan. At least, the 'Little Empire' plan."

"How about you guys just go and leave, and I'll keep on stomping on this guy. He doesn't seem to understand that it's important to make a good impression and not terrorize potential friends!"

"What's a good impression? Can I eat it? OW! Ribs! Ribs!"

Class 1-A filed out slowly and awkwardly. Ayako kicked and stomped on Kai the whole time. However, a few seconds after the last student left, closing the door behind them, Ayako stopped and helped Kai up. She had to put up a strong front for the class in accordance with the plan he had shared with her, but in reality, she was very concerned about him.

"Are you really fine? I've never seen you like this."

"You know me, I heal quickly even without your help. With a bit of work from Arachne too, there's no way any poison will keep me down for long. I just need to take it easy for another hour or so, and I'll be right as rain."

"You'd better be right," Ayako sighed, grabbing his shoulder and redirecting his energy to his heart and brain to accelerate healing there. "Why did you have to do this to yourself? Was it worth it?"

"You heard why I did it. I wasn't about to let an attempt at murder go unanswered. But All Might was. Sets a bad precedent." Kai eased himself into the nearest chair and leaned back. "I corrected things. Everyone's reactions were too little for murder in the second degree, so I corrected that, too. But in order to regain their trust, especially after Bob dropped in, I needed to show them that I didn't have bad intentions, and that I could be dealt with if that changed. An hour or two of weakness and a headache is worth it. Did you enjoy kicking me?"

"Of course. You are being an idiot. And it's even worse because you are right. I think that them seeing that will help all of you in the long run. But I still think that you could have tried to earn their trust before revealing that you are a maniac."

"I'll take that as a compliment."

"How?"

"By not caring. There is a power that comes with not giving a damn. Anyways, I think that this was inevitable. Better than showing that side of me and breaking their trust later. Might be like a broken bone- a clean break heals faster. Starting sooner means they will be right as rain when worse things happen."

"… This, this is why you don't have a girlfriend."

"No girl deserves me. Well if there is one, I can't imagine what she could have done to be so punished. I'm sure I wouldn't like her." Kai shrugged.

Ayako suddenly felt that she hadn't kicked Kai nearly enough. She threw her hands up in despair.

"Fine, you win, you are always right. But I'm only saying that because arguing is too dang difficult with you. Now, let's get you to the principal's office so that we can go home. I really want to get back to my manga."
