My Ultimate Ambition

"Mother?... Mother! Mother! I've missed you very much" .

Yoona ran to her mother with the attitude of one who has encountered a Messiah.

Her mother with the broadest smiles that might tear her cheeks if she doesn't stop smiling that hard ,opened her arms to hug a child she hasn't seen for the past one month.

If not for her husband's ban on visits, she would have come earlier on to be with her baby.

After the mother and child reunion, mother Kim finally looked over her child to ascertain the state of her well-being. No mother would be happy to see her child suffering .

"Hello Mrs Kim", lady Lee greeted quietly.

"Oh my manners, you must be court lady Lee. I am this child's mother. Thanks for teaching her well", she greeted happily as she extended her hands to clasp it around hers.

Lady Lee reluctantly left the duo to have their moments but not without telling Yoona her lessons begins in the next one hour.

"My child, is lady Lee kind to you? Is she treating you well?", she asked her as she saw her baby had lost some weight.

"Mother , teachers are like second parents. Why won't she treat me kindly?",Yoona said in a m.a.t.u.r.ed manner shocking her mother.

Mother Kim"..."

She teased her child, "Who are you? what have you done to my child? How can someone m.a.t.u.r.e this much just in a span of one month?".

Yoona catching on with her mother's teasing voice told her that lady Lee is not only teaching her on how to be a good cook but on the way of the world .

If she is to survive in the society she has to learn and grow. Mother Kim finally ordered her personal servant to set down the basket of food they came with.

"Mother brought your favorite dishes and fruits, let mother feed you personally" .

With her eyes full of surprise and anticipation , Yoona savoured the aroma of the food and rushed to dig in, all her favorites are in one basket: roasted chicken, rice cakes, mooncakes, octopus soup, noodles, peaches and even dates her most favorite.

"Thank you mother!oh how I've missed this, lady Lee's dishes are good but nothing taste more than mother's cooking" , she praised sincerely.

She almost choked on them since she was stuffing her mouth with everything at once.

"Take it easy, don't rush, they are all yours". Mother Kim said softly with smiles.

With food dripping down from her mouth, "Mother, pass me the chicken wings and the noodles"

Mother Kim"..."

Speechless. She thought to herself.

'Is she even fed at all?', she gently passed her the dish she requested as she picked a date to eat .

After the meals had completely disappeared into her stomach, she let out a loud belch but quickly covered her mouth so as not to be disrespectful to her mother .

"Sorry mother". She said embarrassed.

"Silly child", she said proudly.

Lady Lee suddenly came to remind them of time like one who people call monitoring spirit.

Mother Kim reluctantly bade her child goodbye but promised to come back soon with her father's permission.

At this crucial moment, Yoona remembered that in the course of her mother's visit and the subsequent meals ,she hadn't asked after her father and sibling, as she made to ask, she was glared down by teacher Lee whose eyes dared her to delay her mother's departure.

Yoona swallowed her words but made a mental note to ask on her next visit .

The lessons continued from where it had stopped with Yoona fidgeting with a round stomach. Sleep came knocking but one glare, she knew she would be done for if she dared sleep.
